It's videos like this that makes me excited that you are apart of #teampixel. The video shot was key in seeing the difference between 4a and 5 and where Google is going with regards to video. Also, I am seriously encouraged by the battery life numbers. Can't wait for your upcoming videos and can't wait until my 5 arrives.

Great video dude. The main reason Pixel works well case-less is not just the grip, it's the weight. It always feels controllable and if it falls, the light weight just has less kinetic energy to do damage.

Many reviewers do not understand where the "extra" $ 200 have ended up in the phone, so they thrash it for being overpriced. The extremely well managed power consumption coupled with a 4,000 mA/h battery, the extra RAM, the extremely reliable UFS 2.1 flash memory - they claim there is an UFS 3.1 with doubled speed outthere now, but imagine the BER of a memory not widely tested yet. I gave a look, the quality of passive parts and the execution of the whole phone assembly seems to be at MILSPEC standards, just like Google not wanting warranty returns. It is a pity that the reviewer community doesn't include true electronic engineers, who checks the innards of a phone or place it on a test stand; we have reviews that are even less than a qualified opinion; most reviews are like a "gut feeling" often piloted by the encouragement (or lack thereof) of the manufacturers. A balanced evaluation of the Pixel 5 - points to the fact that it is one of the best phones on the market. If you do a lot of financial and commercial transactions on the phone, the Pixel 4a, 4-5G and 5 are the only valid choice because of their unrivaled data security.

By far the best review. I am not a pixel 5 user and never used Google phones in my life. Since last month I have been closely checking out reviews of all techies and to be honest none of the so called big reviewers have done justice to pixel 5. It seems like with apple Samsung one plus and all the other phones the reviewers are step treating Google pixel and yeah sponsored videos by the major players to promote their products, also I did not find them to do justice in their reviews for a first time user who is thinking to buy a pixel. With your video it gives me a lot of confidence to now dive into the Google world and give stock android a real chance. Coming from an apple user for last 13 years its time where I put my money where I will get some worth and enjoy the Google pixels magical photography. Once again thank you for the honest review. Cheers 🍻

The speakers are great in a matter of speaking... The Google Pixel 5 is definitely louder at the bottom area of the device, not as loud up top, with that under display speaker, BUT! the audio under that Display has more of a rich smooth/sound that is being delivered. After a while when listening to music, watching movies or videos, you literally forget that the delivery of the Audio is uneven, sort of like a hole punch or a notch on a Smartphone Display when you get totally immersed into whatever you're watching you forget that it's even there, well at least for me that's what happens✌️

@Technically Speaking, great video! You touched on performance but related to gaming only or so it seems. I’m not a phone gamer however on my phone I have multiple email accounts and multiple email apps, other work related apps...I know to each is own but I’d like to know your thoughts on the performance based on you being a power user.

I like how your review is based on practical everyday experience using the Pixel 5 rather than just going by the spec sheet. Likewise, I'm not going to notice the difference between modern chipsets and screen refresh rates because I'm not a gamer or even a power user. What matters most to me is convienence, like how comfortable it is to hold, battery life, software, ect, so your review of these features is very much appreciated. I feel like this phone will be a good fit for me coming from a OnePlus 5T.

Hey Scott, great job. Just caught this. I've heard so many negative comments about the audio on the 5, but you felt it was good. How are phone calls? Some reviews say it's bad news. When you open the phone out of the box, the battery life will change as the phone learns from you on usage. How much of a substantial change do you think it did? I think this will be great for people once they open the box and start using it, to get excited on how much better it will get after a few weeks of learning your behavior. of course I'm not talking about using battery saver mode! I’ve been a devout iPhone user since the iPhone 4, albeit with a short business trip using a Galaxy S6. For the first time, I am more excited about an Android versus an iPhone. While I am a little bummed that Google isn’t offering more premium hardware, I absolutely love their simple user interface. It’s the software experience that has me drawn toward the Pixel. That specific reason is what has ALWAYS kept me from making the switch to Android. But not anymore.

@@tri0xin I agree with what you are saying. I made a detailed pros and cons list between these 2 devices. At the end of the day, is it worth to spend double the money for the Pixel 5? PROS: - 2 more GB of RAM - Faster Snapdragon 765G SOC - ~25% bigger 4080mAh battery - 5G mmWave connectivity - 90hz higher refresh rate display - +0.2" bigger 6" screen in similar size shell - 0.2 mm thinner body - higher screen-to-body ratio - symmetrical bezels - higher peak max birthgness - HDR10+ support - Ultrawide camera module - spectral sensor - third microphone - 4K 60 fps support with main rear camera - advanced video recording stabilization - aluminum housing - IP68 water resistance rating - wireless charging + reverse CONS: - unbalanced and worse stereo speakers - no headphone jack - 2 times the Pixel 4a retail price - 1mm larger body

@@davidecava2654 Good list.. and I did receive my Pixel 5 the other day and still glad I bought it !..even though it may not day to day seem like a big upgrade worthy of the price ...in my opinion those upgrades will pay off over time and will make this phone's lifecycle definitely longer than the 4a. I'm already noticing the better battery life even over the fantastic battery life of the 4a.. the 90hz display is definitely nice to see.. the ultrawide and being able to shoot 4k 60fps will be nice to have and I'll definitely use them. The 5g makes the phone a bit future proof.. in a year I think you'll be glad you have it. Ultimately none of the upgrades by themselves would make it worth $350 more but all together I think they do for sure.. at least for me. I woulda been fine keeping the 4a... I was very satisfied with it but I think I woulda always been wishing I had the 5 somewhat. Also if the price is a little hard to swallow I'll be within a month or 2 it will drop a $100'ish..

I just got my Pixel 5 yesterday for $161 it was a really good deal, the only flaw of the phone is that the sim tray is broken so I have to buy a replacement but it's not expensive, I ordered one for $2. That's the only problem, everything is perfectly fine. I tried it and got a 7hrs 40mins SOT, with I think 20% left on the battery.

Thanks for the video. The Pixel 5 use standard hardware, but of better reliability of other flagship phones. The water resistance and wireless charging raise the price more than what one would expect. But, the outstanding feature of the Pixel 5 is the software: monthly security updates make it the most secure phone on the market, and for me is the most relevant feature. Plus, Google borrowed some of their unique AI knowledge and throw it inside the Pixel 5. Self learning coding, and some advanced math in matrix manipulation, give raise to the "witchcraft" you talk about, regarding that special image stabilisation, or the kind of computational photography that other brands will take years to achieve. It's got a Snapdragon 636, which scores like 160k on antutu benchmark. I'm using a custom rom called "pixel experience" and there is no huge performance issues at all! This phone is just good enough for everything except heavy gaming. Now the pixel 5 has a Snapdragon 765G, that chip scores roughly around 320k in antutu.
