Yup, I do miss gaming on an 85hz crt. It was buttery smooth. But when I went flat panel I jumped straight to 1080p 27" and there was nothing on the market that could put out 20fps at that resolution at the time. Then gpus started to catch up, but I had already moved to 4k. Problem is, while I game a little, I do a lot of other things as well. Resolution and size almost always trump GPS for everything except competitive gaming. 60fps is fine for most things, and 120fps is getting to an area where your eye can notice a difference, but you can't react to it. Save yourself the money and get a good 60 to 120hz display, and spend your money on size and quality, and spend the money saved on good content. When gpus can actually play real games above 60hz, then think about upgrading your monitor. But for now most games at good setting 4k top out at 20 to 50 fps... Going to be a good 4 to 6 years before the GPU hardware catches up to these fancy displays.

240 frames of refresh per second. In simple terms.. 60hz is find. There is no need for more that 60 or 120hz imo unless you have money or are trying to flex or make yurself better at a game you suck at. I stick with my 4k 60hz bc there is no need for a upgrade when I can see find. My reflexes are fine and dont need help tbh

@TheJarJarKinks4 жыл бұрын
Okay... but could you actually show some game-play, do some response-time testing, and maybe show what degree of overshoot goes on in any sort of overdrive settings the thing uses to achieve its advertised refresh rate? I see that you like it, but I wanna *see* the performance -- not hear you tell us about the performance -- before I even consider buying it. Enjoyed the video, but you didn't do much of anything to make someone serious about monitors -- or even just me -- really consider buying this, tbh. That said, the Monitor Tester Program thing looks cool. Would try it out, but I don't really use social media or post on forums, so that's probably not gonna happen.

the thing holding monitors back is the connection speed. i want 400 hz monitors, as this is the fastest frequency stated to be useful by scientists. so i want a 4k 400hz panel. most expensive esports already do 480 hz. the only problem with resolution is the bandwidth. the highest useful resolution is 8k. so 8k 400 hz is the epitome of monitors. i give that 10 years tops, if VR hasnt taken over by then.

Why are they still 1080p, most graphics cards these days can handle 1440p over 200fps, weird?
@metalvideos19614 жыл бұрын
Because this is a competitive gaming monitor. everything above 1080p is not used as Esport monitor. 24.5 inch is the right size for Competitive gaming monitors. and you need a pretty decent GPU to run 240hz. 1440p monitors are not suitable for competitive gaming or for Pro esport gaming like Overwatch or CS. the screen is too big. way to much eye tracking which is not useful. so 1080p 24.5 inch with 240hz is the perfect gaming monitor for competitive gamers. and if you are not in to that then sure get a 1440p monitor. but those monitors are often just used for causal gamers that just want to have good graphics. Esport games like overwatch or CS doesnt give a shit about Graphics. they put everything on low settings anyway. Esports alone should have give you a hint already. Infect there are still CS pro gamers that game below 1080p.
@shadows64864 жыл бұрын
@@metalvideos1961 Chill out bro, I was just stating my opinion! I was just saying that my rtx 2060 super that is a mid range graphics card can run any competitive game over 200 fps on 1440p low settings without any problems, so why is it that all of these new competitive monitors that are being priced extremely high, for a trash 1080p experience, are still being made, when most pro players play on 2080ti's. Which can easily give out over 250 to 300 fps on 1440p. That's what I was talking about. But I'm not a pro esport player, so I guess I dont know! I just personally would perfer them to make higher resolution monitors with higher FPS. And when I switched from a 25" 240hz monitor to 27" 165hz monitor, I could see things further away, I played better and even had a more immersive experience while playing!
