Cars I'm selling through CarEdge - caredge.com/cqa
My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.
Thanks for watching and please feel free to leave any comments you may have in the section below!

It doesn't really work like that, but ... on second thought you DO have a point. They would rather crush SOME CARS to limit how many are available sale to create artificial scarcity. And that would be the ones they make the least profit on ... At this point CRDJ don't have a big enough crusher to create scarcity, they are pretty much toast.

I'm 70% certain that they're going to cry to the Govt that they're going broke because of "Covid" or " supply chain", when It’s a SCAM to not sell cars, and get free money. Think about it. All they have to do is offer the Criminals in Govt a cut and they'll ride to the rescue. They'll just dump a couple dozen billion on them, just like they do for foreign countries.

Not just under $30k to buy but under $50k ownership to drive for 200k miles! Fuel is too expensive! Do the math. A $35k Toyota GR Corolla manual transmission has 300hp gets about 24mpg. It will use about $30k in fuel to drive 200k miles! A $35k Tesla Model 3 Long Range Rear Wheel drive 295hp gets about 114mpg. It will cost about $6k in electricity to drive 200k miles! That is a savings of more than $24k!

Do you sell them and interact with customers that own them? Probably not. We’ve had 0 issues and happy customers! Do you own Nissans? Probably not. I own 3 - ariya, altima, titanxd. @HiPlains1
@HiPlains1 2 ай бұрын
@@FirstPencil1306 CVT issues were for specific model years. But generally speaking they fixed the issues after 2016. 2013-14 pathfinders were trash. I remember 2013 sentra also had issues. Many years of altima were trash as well. I owned a 2012 sentra that had a good CVT. But earlier models of that gen from around 2007 were trash. 2012 being the final run of that gen. Then like I said they messed up the 2013. I still own a 2019 frontier but that has a regular 5 speed auto. No problems. I think after 2016 Nissan knew their reputation was going down the drain and they knew they had to iron out their CVT issues. Altima even had a recall for years 2013-16 but for the most part you don't here of problems anymore. Except for the bozo's that don't want to change out the CVT fluid every 30K miles. That's mandatory if you don't want problems. In short, stories of rotten CVT's and Nissan are not imaginary. Just because you probably bought a year/model that is not affected does not mean the problems didn't exist. I've had Nissan master mechanics tell me they indeed were trash for many models/years. The reason you should avoid buying used Nissan's with CVT's is you don't know how the prior owner maintained it. Unless they can produce records of changing out that fluid and it was manufactured after 2017 I would not touch a used one. Brandon on this channel mostly avoids Nissans with CVT because most of his cars have over 100K miles. But Nissan still suffers from this day they have crappy CVT's which is not true. Perception is a bitch.

Manufacturers are making 2 mistakes. Number one, they think that everyone needs a big fat bloated expensive pickup truck or SUV ... most of us don't. Not wrong at all. We ARE in a financial crisis and manufacturers think we're all rich. What is wrong are the manufacturers departing from the " old " model of catering to average people and redirecting sales to the upper class. In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot more poor people in America than rich people and THOSE people are buying affordable and reliable Japanese sedans by the millions. Why do you think there are so many Toyotas on the road these days? I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't driving a brand new Corolla, it cost way, way less than a fat bloated SUV or pickup and it does the job just fine.

Thank goodness I found one smaller dealer in a smaller town that did not mark up over MSRP, and bought from them. I shed no tears for those dealers that I feel gouged people and made loads of money. Now only a few years later that it's becoming a Buyers market again, some of those same dealers are hurting and begging for customers to come back and be "loyal"... I remember, and will not forget them, as I buy elsewhere!

Much of the US economy is supported by folks who spend every dollar they make, and every dollar they can borrow. They live right on the ragged edge, and as such, they also tend to buy a new car every 2 or 3 years whether they can afford it or not. But now, they've been hit by inflation, plus they are $10,000 or $15,000 underwater on their current auto loan because they stupidly bought when prices were thousands over MSRP (it's what they do). So, with the suckers not out buying cars it has become much tougher for dealerships to make money on the more savvy consumers who are left. And those consumers have figured out something interesting - the longer they wait, the more the prices drop. So they keep waiting.

Its called inflation. The average American is having to cut back. And interest rates are high. Even used vehicles are high. No suprise.
@tinkerstrade3553
@tinkerstrade3553 2 ай бұрын
The dealers think they can wait out the buyers. The manufacturers refuse to lose money by cutting initial prices enough. They overstocked at a bad time, because they ghoulishly thought the government would keep on cutting stimulus checks. And they wanted to make a killing. Manufacturers will have to pick up part of the dealers floor plans, or their vehicles sales will stop because they'll have bankrupted the dealerships. The negative advertising of an abandoned Nissan or Honda will just speed up the rate of decline. And when dealerships don't sell, used car buyers can't get inventory. No inventory, means closing the doors. Sure, there will be a feeding frenzy as these carcasses litter the water, but after that, it's stagnation time. Juggling this and that, bleeding repos and trade ins will only last so long, and supply dwindles. When the used market can't get enough air, they choke off the market. Everybody kidding themselves with this being a summer slump, till it doesn't pick back up this fall. Then market panic hits, and it's a race to the bottom, as everybody sells whatever they have, for whatever they can get. The bottom line is, car sales depend on the end buyer. When you run out of cars, too much $ for new ones shuts the stream off, and a plumber taught me all shit runs downhill. And used lots are in for an spanking. So for myself, I just purchased a 2004 Nissan minivan for $800 that I'll put another $700 into repairs. But at $1500, my wife will have a cheap ride for the next 2-4 years. I'm buying up this summer for something like a 3/4 ton Ford, Chevy, Toyota(?) Or Dodge. But like the minivan, I'm buying old enough for cheaper parts, even junkyard cannibalism. I'll be looking at a buy and repair under $2500, because work trucks can be ugly.😁 About Christmas of 2026, the market may be back under a more regular flow pattern. I feel for small dealers, it's gonna be a rough ride. At least, that's what the car weather looks like in middle America along the Arkansas / Oklahoma border. Thank you for the coastal perspective. Good video.

Sales will not go up because people are realizing that they were getting ripped off by the dealers and manufacturers working together. They are too stupid and greedy to understand that they need to keep their costumers happy. Guess what, his business is doing great and never slowed even during Covid.

In my area of the Mid Atlantic the Toyota and Honda dealers have almost No inventory. Many people impulse buy cars which means their out cruising around stop at a dealer and fall in love with a new car or truck. That just doesn't happen when the lots are almost empty. The local Toyota dealer has never and I said never had a 2024 Prius on their lot for sale. Highlanders and Rav4s are almost that bad. The Honda dealer never has a Ridgeline Pickup available for sale and CRVs are very sparce. How is a dealer expected to sell in conditions like that?

In April 2021 I needed a new car. I had almost no money. I tested 8 cars from 4 manufacturers. The physical differentails between them didnt justify the price differentials so in the end I bought the cheapest car in America. A brand new Chevy Spark. I'd have preferred an S-Class but I'm not a millionaire. The car has been perfectly fine for over four years now and a easy payment I can handle without difficutly which enables me to pay down debts and use my money for other things. Going well. I commute six miles each way to work and watch all these idiots in gigantic dinosuar trucks and SUV's that' cost he same as a house usd to cost decades ago congesting the highway and surface streets. Over 80 percent of them are individuals who have no need for such a vehicle. Under 20 percent actually have more than just the drivers in them, and less than 10 percent have a work crew. I believe I have bought my last ever new car.
