Living only 3,5 hours flighttime from moscow I would not hesitate one second to jump on a plane to visit that shop ! I spotted a tsingtao , chinese beer , that I recently bought a case of here in sweden ! How I drink beer depends what kind of beer it is but mostly cold or chilled . In kenya , which I visit often many people like their beer not chilled . There is a pub here in gothenburg that's called beer-republik but they are not even close to this place ! Heard that you are from perth , I went there several times 40 years ago but there we mostly drank emu lager ! Cool video , Russel !

Hahah great video, Russel! Zhiguli is not named after the car brand. It's a beautiful protected national park on a peninsula that lies in a sinuosity of the Volga river, close to the cities of Samara and Togliatti. The latter being the site where the car manufacturer is located and the car is therefore also named after that region. ✌️

We've been ranging beers like this for 6+ years, just not on this scale, 3000 package beers + 200 taps, they'd want to have a huge customer count or else they will have plenty of stock past date code! То же самое :) На Гиляровского по работе часто езжу, и, стоя на светофоре, много раз видел этот магазин. Даже не думал, что там так круто. Перед следующими выходными обязательно заеду - закуплюсь. Russell, i was living in Belgium for 7 years. There are more than 400 breweries and more than 150 sorts of beer in Belgium. I have tasted probably only 2% of them. Now i'm living in Russia (not in Moscow) ant this shop is awesome. I'm ready to go 550km just to visit it, and probably meet with you... In the video your friend was trying to read sort of peanuts "Дижонская", this name came from French - Dijon Mustard btw ))

Who drinks only one beer? Then not all on their list are beers but a hundred or so are cidres. Then I don't consider kriek and other fruit beers as real beers. Anyways it will take time try all real beers they have and when finished the list probably they will have a few new ones.

Хотя это вообще-то про искусственное сдерживание цен на товар, а не про рецепт пива (в законе упомянуты ингредиенты пива для юридической казуистики). Там, в тексте закона 1516 года, пивные дрожжи не упоминается от слова совсем. Их Луи Пастер откроет, во второй половине XIX века. Ваша позиция, если ее чуть приукрасить, звучит в стиле: «А давайте не будем считать пивом то, что создано пивными дрожжами! Ведь в Reinheitsgebot о пивных дрожжах нет ни слова!». Это есть факт. То же справедливо про пшеницу в пиве. В средневековый германских землях, по причинам не урожая и голода, были написаны тымы законов - запрещающих использовать пшеницу в варке, ибо она есть хлеб! Иначе народ взбунтуется. Такое пиво варили лишь богатые монастыри и герцоги, провоцируя народ на голодный бунт. Однако кто сегодня будет отрицать, что пшеничное пиво это вкусно?! Только те, кто не любит пшеничное пиво. Ну и на сладкое. А давайте без холода? Ведь использованию Холодильных установок мы обязаны Карлу Фон Линде (холодильник изобрел), который современник Луи Пастера, и об этих технологиях нет ни слова в Reinheitsgebot... А пиво верхового брожения, которое варили во времена Reinheitsgebot... технологически это - эль, при чем мутный, так как фильтровать не умели (это тоже технология, пришедшая вместе с XX веком). Что в остатке? Мутный эль, верхового брожения? Ведь всё что делает пиво, в современном понимании пивом, а точнее лагером за который вы, это - продукт века развития технологий. Никакие древние такого пива не пили. Ну может викинги, по причине северной географии и то случайно, не осознавая технологию...

@@kennymccormick5582 со всем согласен кроме холода - были холодильные погреба в которые для поддержания температуры закладывали лёд - его могли как колоть зимой так и доставлять, например, с гор на возах. Даже не про Европу, а про США смутно помню, например, что основатель некоей ныне известной компании начал бизнес именно как возчик льда с местных гор. И пункт "откинуть на ледник" в старинных рецептах встречается достаточно часто. Понятно, что иметь специализированное помещение со льдом было в основном привилегией богатых лиц и организаций, но они существовали и лично я не возьмусь утверждать, что данные погреба вообще никакого отношения не имели к пиву).

Before the revolution of 1917, it was called "Viennese", although this is not a geographical name, but in honor of the city of Vienna, the capital of Austria-Hungary. I would recommend you the whole shelf with many cheap and fresh glass bottled lagers ( 0,5 ) from old regional sowiet brewery plants ( пивзавод ). Zhiguli - it is the name of hills near by Volga river. And also is the name most popular sowiet car brand ( based on italian Fiat ).

What a fantastic beer store! Here in Washington, DC, we have one bar with some 200+ brands of beer. Big supermarkets where I shop like Harris Teeter have a decent selection as well but nothing like what you are showing in your videos.

It was a pretty cool place. Just the tap wall amazed me, we have lots of those types of shops in my local area, but only with 10 or 20 taps on the wall. For it to be in Australia it would have to be a dan murphy's type store with a liquor licence.

Oh, this is exactly the place you had to go, and you've done it. The building where the shop is located was built at the Stalin's times and BT called House for Moscow Kremlin staff. My grannies had lived there as owned two rooms (sharing the flat with a couple of other families - that was the reality of that time). The shop is wonderful with plenty of choices. The first row your friend pointed to was Armenian beers. One of the interesting facts is that the uniq washing system implemented for cleansing the pipes as it's important to maintain a level of clearance that would comply to sanitary regulation. And finaly, the shop belongs to the chain called 'Beru Vykhodnoy' which means 'I'm taking a day off' which is self-explanatory. Location is near to Rijskaya metro station next to Holliday Inn hotel. Привет из Сибири, из Кемерова! Обожаю разнообразие пива! У нас есть много баров, в который продают разное крафтовое пиво, в самом большом из которых около 300-400 видов. За один вечер люблю взять несколько совершенно разных сортов, а иначе начинает приедаться, очень рад, что в России с каждым годом увеличивается количество небольших крафтовых пивоварен, которые выпускают тысячи разных видов пива!

This was fun to see so Thank you. Have never seen a shop like this. It is amazing how many different types and flavors there are. I do not drink alcohol anymore and was never a beerlover. The only beers i liked to drink was Guiness and Corona with a piece of lime.

Oh, they have LaTrappe a Monastry Beer from the Netherlands. The quadrupel is very dark with 9% alc. Interesting is also the Grimbergen Optimo Bruno, a reddish beer without hops but with 10%alc or the Sierra Nevada pale ale a pils beer with special hops from california. It was worlds best pils beer in 2010.

how can an ale be named the best pils? isn't pils a bottom fermented beer, like any lager, while ales are top-fermented?

@@zloychechen5150 The Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. wins in 2010. The category was "German-Style Pilsener". Maybe it was different and it had only the same hops. It is 13 years ago.

Craft beers, ciders and meads wildly available in Russia actually. Absolutely not every city has shop these size. But I am sure in each city in Russia you can find at least some basic craft beers. I am a big fan of craft drinks myself so a lot of positions you shown I am familiar with. Now I want to visit this store)

Интересно, пиво на любой вкус. Когда хочется немного побаловать себя чем-то интересным, чего раньше не пробовал, можно и попробовать. Я смотрю, там цены абсолютно разные, как у вина - от обычных дешевых сортов до необычных дорогих. Вино я не люблю, крепкие напитки тоже не люблю, а на стаканчик пива с удовольствием сходила бы)

Я тоже это заметил. Где-то больше 1000 рублей за банку или бутылку и то было за местное крафтовое пиво. Конечно, вы должны иногда баловать себя чем-то уникальным или необычным. У нас есть Mgnet для всех обычных сортов пива.

Hi, guys! At 4:14, you start showing beers of Salden's brand (Tula, Russia). DENis SALnikov, the director of the brand actually created a new kind of beers in 2017 - tomato gose - this beer has quickly become one of top hits in Russia. I needed to say that fact, try it when you can. Not necesserily of Salden's, my favorite tomato gose is BULL HEART by Pivot Point (Kolomna, Russia). That beer is just fantastic!

Честно говоря, я действительно пью только классическое бочковое пиво. Я никогда не создавал палитру для всего крафтового пива. @@TravellingwithRussell It's a great thing if you like wild beer, geuze, imperial stouts or any other styles that only get better over time. They age beer in this room and charge about 10-20% on top of the fee. At the same time, on the shelves you can also find some bottles that have been standing there for years (essentially aging, but not at low temperature)
