Huey (and definitely the News) guy here too. Man, this is awesome! Kit sound is really dialed in, playing is tight as can be & the visual side is excellent! Again, awesome work

Very solid drumming. Your playing is so tight with no wasted notes. This was a fun song to cover for me too. Good going on the open-handed playing Mike and keep rocking!!

I've said this before but I love your song selections! I remember seeing Huey Lewis & the News live in concert back in like 1984 -loved em then, like I do today. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Really well played Mike, Huey and his band have some really tasty stuff. I saw Kenny Aranoff (Mellencamps drummer at the time) in clinic in the 80s and he was talking about how simple things really make the song. I can’t think of an artist or band that better exemplifies that sentiment than Huey Lewis and the News. Take care my friend
@mfournier015 жыл бұрын
I agree with Kenny when it comes to many of the Rock hits of that era. Sometimes you just need a driving rhythm section with a few memorable breaks and fills to support the melody. Thanks for your feedback my friend!

This band was kickass. The pride of San Francisco CA. I think that's Bill Gibson on drums? You nailed this cover my good dude 🤘.

Yes it is Bill Gibson, very underrated but solid as hell and plays perfectly for the music! Thanks for watching brother!!

@@mfournier01 Youre welcome man. I agree, Underated and very solid. Back in the day most were set on one genre of music. I had an appreciation for a good band or musician. This band was one I appreciated very much.

Bloody awesome Mike, love your drummimg, so tight, no BS just play the song as it was written with feel and punch. Was wondering if you run the TD 20 live??. I run the PA with our 8os bad and was looking at one of these kits for our drummer. Would love to touch base with you at some stage and discuss your sounds if possible. you really have nailed it! i believe i have watched all your vids LOL. Keep up the great work.

Thank you Bruce. I spend some time to dial in the right sound to try to match a peticular drummer’s signature sound and that is one of the great attributes of using electronic drums. I also try to incorporate percussion when possible. I have used it live and once I’m running through the sound board I usually work with the sound tech to adjust the levels in the module to his liking on the floor. You can run individual outputs but unless you are a pro touring band I find it to be a bit much on the cable management! Cheers

Open handed niiiiice!!! That’s looks impossible for me as a beginner. My left hand is like 1000x weaker!!! What set is that looks like early 2000 model?
@mfournier014 жыл бұрын
Yes sir I started trying this technique about 8 years ago and have gotten to the point where I can hold the beat down and switch back and forth. Leading fills are still a challenge though but practice and muscle memory are the keys! I’m playing a TD-20X that I have put together over the last 15 years. It began as a TD-10 that I upgraded the module and added more cymbals and other pads onto over time. Thanks for watching!
