There is real anger and discontent towards INEOS bubbling among Manchester United fans.
Some is totally justified - unconsulted ticket price increases, treatment of season ticket holders, Ten Hag & Ashworth mistakes.
Some overlooks some key truths...but where does the reality lie?
I want to explain my frustrations with INEOS and Manchester United's reality right now after the end to the January transfer window.

Amorim was brought in early so he could get to know the players and find out who he can trust in his system. If he arrived in the summer then he wouldn’t have a lot of time to evaluate the players and some that don’t fit his system may have been given an undeserved chance. This would have caused more issues next season for us. Ultimately bringing him earlier is more efficient as it will give him more preparation for his first full season.

If Ineos stick with him it will be worth it in the long run. But I'm afraid the pressure it put Amorim under right from the start will result in his sacking two seasons from now. Unless he's challenging for the title by then, but I doubt we have the squad to properly challenge that soon.

Honestly think people just fall into the trap of needing someone to blame. Ineos are trying to fix decades of negligence. They've made mistakes and the media will always highlight them, where they don't highlight the good. Miney is so tight, we probably waited so late for Dorgu, because we needed the loan fees and salaries off. This will take a long time to fix, I'm not saying they're the right people to do it, but there will be ups and downs. They won pay off the debt until they own the club properly. Why would they and why would they bring it up?

Couldn’t agree more. I think at the bare minimum they actually want to improve the club and they’re not afraid to make tough decisions to do so. Some of these fickle “fans” need to get their head out the clouds and face the reality of the situation. It’s infuriating
@inthegutterstaringathestars

That is because decisions come with people to blame. How can Ineos fix problems when they done a deal with the people who caused the debt and the problems? I agree it will take a long time to fix but only if Ineos and The Glazers intentions are to pay off the debt and put money into the club. Equally money is tight because of the amount of money spent poorly, which is another reason to apportion blame.

Ok, my points on this: - My 3 main hopes for this window: A LWB in, Rashford and Casemiro out (to quote Meatloaf "2 out of 3 ain't bad") - An actual LWB WILL see us more balanced and create more actual chances for our forwards - We shouldn't waste money on loaning in forwards now when we can aim for a proper striker (Gyokeres) in the summer - We have two strikers who are really low on confidence and I think they badly need support from us fans and better service - I am glad that people are accepting that this season is a write-off, so we should just chill, we will lose more games - It is obvious there is frustration because of our poor performances on the pitch and it feels like many are projecting onto INEOS to have someone to blame (they are cutting costs to try and correct where the Glazers completely f***** us for 20 years) - I am sure Radcliffe is furious at the costly handling of Ashcroft, Ten Hag but will support the team he assembled - This season will be our lowest point. We have the right manager who has strong discipline and a realistic approach. With every new window, if he is given the correct players for his system with the right attitudes then we will start to recover but it will probably take a few seasons - so we have a couple more seasons of unpredictability We could get a good run together in a cup too, would be a nice distraction from the league. Our Europa League form has been good so we'll see how far we go.

All good points. I've planted my flag in Ten Hag isn't why we are here though, not sure if you feel the same. Having a Top-Notch operation in place, many of these signings wouldn't have been here. I think even Ole might have won a league had that been the case.

@timhawkins1593 5 күн бұрын
agree with most of that - just look down the road at city and there's one hell of a team with zip confidence and just goes to show with lack of confidence any team falls apart. Some of our players just need to get some za za zoom back but they need to understand they gotta work and fight for it not just roll over. Hojlund shown he can score. And quite frankly if Zirkzee doesn't pan out and I hope he does then who green lit buying him in the first place - there's criticism we didn't go and buy a forward but we bought the wrong forward clearly in the summer - goes back to recruitment being the problem.
@WelshSweden
@WelshSweden 4 күн бұрын
@@MrReynoso I largely agree with that on Ten Hag. I think the biggest problem with Ten Hag was that he compromised his tactics a bit when things went wrong to pander to pressure. I totally get that, we've seen other big names get the boot! It wasn't his fault with the signings but I think he made it slightly worse indirectly. Glazers ask him what players he wants and naturally he would say some of his former players. I think our current problems mostly lay with 20 years of neglectful ownership and years of knee-jerk player purchases and manager sackings/recruitings. The media have also had a huge part in applying pressure from the outside. I think under Amorim, we have huge hope. He has a combination of all the positive things we have seen in previous managers. He has the charisma or Mourinho, the tactical knowledge of Ten Hag, the self-belief and discipline of van Gaal and he can talk to the players on their level like Ole could. He just needs time, support and patience. If we had've been run as maybe we should have, many of these huge signings wouldn't have happened these past 10 years and to be honest, how many of them would we have missed? Not Pogba, not Anthony, nor Casemiro, Sancho, Lukaku, Di Maria, many other names. Our better big money signings have been defenders - Maguire now coming good, Martinez and Varane. Is it poor/minimal scouting or big names as a plaster over the problem? Would Ole have won the league though? Maybe, he was close. He could get the best of a team despite huge personalities/attitudes - though how long could he have done that for? The attitudes of certain players over the past 10 years especially has been woeful. I could name 10 players who have had a massively negative impact on standards or attitudes and we still have 3 left on our books. This has had a huge impact of the climate and culture within the dressing room, on the training pitch, what gets leaked etc etc. Previous managers were often in part taken down from within. Until, this rotten core is cleared completely we will not see a team that can be truly galvanised. The positive I see is that many of the younger players are hard workers and are ready to graft. Collyer is a prime example. If we can find 2 more who can step up before the end of the season then it will be a real boost to next season's squad. Sorry for the long answer :)

People need to understand that if Ruben Amorim accepted the job midseason its because they all are in sync with how the club iis financially and what the plan is, hes not stupid or naive. Ruben wont be fired and he will be backed better in the summer when we have a new PSR window to work with. Rashford possibly going for 40M pounds will also help. Some fans are asking for INEOS to do what the Glazers would do, which is panic buy a player just for the sake of it with no long term plan in place. much prefer this aproach. i understand its frustrating, and i also agree that fans should complain when it comes to things that affect them directly like ticket prices. all for that. but let the actual football people, that now have their manager and their plan to execute, do their job. im actually relaxed cuz for the first time in a long while we have a football structure to take care of the football side, and we still complain about it

This will be controversial but I think Amorim needs to start building a team without Bruno as the main character. He needs a team where everyone can defend and be creative in attacking positions. There is an over-reliance on Bruno to create & this is making this team too predictable to opponents. Secondly, Bruno is getting overwhelmed, notice the dropoff in his stats & productivity. It’s impressive he’s an Ironman but he needs to stop playing every game, because he ends up tired and becomes just another player on the team while still receiving the most passes from teammates and expectation to create. Thirdly is his age, how long can he realistically keep playing all these games considering he’s now entered 30?. He needs to be managed to get the most & best out of him now more than ever before. I like Bruno & he must play the important games but I think we need less of him so that these other players can step up their games & become proper Man Utd players. Look at all the big clubs, Madrid still wins without Mbappe and Vini Jr, Barca wins w/o Yamaal, Bayern wins w/o Kane, etc. if Man Utd want to get back to those teams levels they must learn to win w/o Bruno sooner rather than later.

INEOS cant do anything right because of the negligence from the Glazers and it only gets magnified with poor first team results. In my opinion, INEOS is being used as a shield by the Glazers when they are accountable for why our club is in this depressing state. I dont agree with some decisions fro INEOS, but they know a lot more what goes on inside the club and unfortunately the cuts and ticket prices are a consequence of that. I do feel for our fans and I wish INEOS would communicate more with the fans so maybe we would understand their decisions more. We have to be realistic and we cannot expect a complete cultural reset to be finished in a year. It will take a lot of time, hard decisions and not doing the same mistakes again and again like Woodward and Arnold did. Social media doesnt help either with how toxic some groups in our fanbase are towards each other and some journalists trying to write negative stuff all the time. We will get back to where we belong, patience is key even though its hard to be.

Loaning Rashford, Anthony and Malacia out makes sense because. 1. They are not impactful to the team 2. It frees up cash meant for their wages 3. If they are impactful on loan, it gives them decent transfer value. That asides, the team needs some serious rebuild. As much as we fans are clamouring for attackers, our build up from the back and midfield is severely lacking. Getting one or two defensive players with decent ball progressing abilities would help the team. In midfield, we need a creator. Our only creator is Bruno, maybe also Amad and Garna. We need a Wirtz type of energy going forward. We also need a solid DM with solid defensive, ball retaining and progressing abilities. Lastly, a clinical striker is needed for obvious reasons. Kobbie was played ahead of our two strikers in that position against Palace.

That money didn’t touch anything at Manchester United, It went in to their back pockets. £90m was also handed to the Glazers a couple weeks ago as per his deal. Ineos are not going to fix Manchester. They had all this window to find and make a deal with a club for a loaned striker till the end of the season, but they didn’t. They have increased prices and cut projects, charities and just recently planned and U-turned on cutting the £40,000 to £20,000 for Disabled Supporters' Association. I am not hopeful for the summer nor am I interested in Glazers or Ineos. The ONLY way out of this is a 100% buy out. Mark my words prices will get higher and more cuts will come. If we've signed Tel for £5m loan fee + Tel's wages on top, you would be happy right? Paying Tel's wages is fair enough but the £5m loan fee to Bayern equates £300k+ a week from now to the end of the loan spell. That's dumb money for an unproven 19 y/o especially if we're not gonna be in the top 8. Look what happen to Hojlund and Zirkzee?

I do not agree with you , excuses and excuses for ineos/RatCliff and Amourim. Even though some of the things you are saying is true that this goes back to the glazers and decades of mismanagement. Barcelona's debt was literally twice United's, their wage bills were far bigger than United's, La Ligas PSR is far more strict that EPL's and their players had hit a plat toe. That was 2years ago, in almost No time, they won the league and some minor trophies, their debt is cut in half, they just hit the 1 to1 rule which means now they can buy anyone, and this year they are in the top 2or3 best teams in the world!!! So abilities and possibilities are there, United are just in the hands of incompetence, and that includes RatCliff and Amourim as well, and I can NOT believe I have to say this after losing the Crystal Palace at home!!! Oh after months of Amourim being there sweet talking his way out of things, Nope!!! Love your posts brother🙏

Amorim has nothing to do with this, it’s not his fault that you are impatient. Sporting were in a far worse position than United is in currently and he turned them around, it will take time for him to fix United but if he gets fired it will be far worse for the club you can be sure of that.

If Ineos clear the debt while the Glazers are majority shareholders, the Glazers can just pile on more debt on the club. The debt is currently holding the Glazers from piling more debt on the club. Also know that the debt is currently manageable.

This whole situation is just a giant dumpster fire and it sucks! I’m super pissed that they didn’t get Tel in. I will not forgive them for that. If they can get him in the summer, then I will forgive them. But that is the thing I’m the most upset about with INEOS. No idea if they truly COULD not get him on loan or they just didn’t WANT to get him? We’ll never know probably. But, the reports I’ve read make it seam like our player acquisition people didn’t “think” he was good enough to warrant a 5 mil pound loan for. Which again, to me is ABSOLUTELY F***ED and they will be kicking themselves in a few months to a year. Nothing is a guarantee in life or football. But if I had to bet a bunch of money one way or another on Tel turning into a productive great player or even world class, I’d bet all my money on him doing well! And the fact that INEOS, Wilcox, Vivell and others don’t know that tells me they really aren’t as great as they say or people think they are at identifying talent. And that’s scary. Their whole business model now is about identifying young talent that is just starting to show signs of being great. Buying them at a lower fee and then allowing them to develop into a great or world class player at Utd. Instead of paying 60-90 mil for a finished product. And Tel is literally past the development phase and already showing he’s the real deal and one of THE most talented young attackers in Europe. MASSIVE MASSVIE mistake by INEOS if they COULD have signed him. Other than Utd not getting in Tel, I'm not dissapointed with the other transfer business they did. More than likely due to extremely limiited funds, all because of years of Glazer neglect and incompetance. Heaven and Leon both look like great young players that will be in the starting lineup and playing great within 1-3 years. While Dorgu is going to be good to great right away. Maybe not "one of the best" in the EPL, but good enough for now. He's going to have to get used to playing for such a big club like Utd. Get used to Amorim's system and the LWB nuances that Amorim wants out of him. And get used to the speed and physicality of the EPL. But overall, all 3 were good business and a sign of things to come. And getting Rashford out on loan for a fee, getting most of his INSANE wages and bonuses off the docket and getting his bad attitude out of the locker room are all massive pluses! Plus getting Antony out on loan for a fee and his massive wages out (even if it was only a percentage and not all) and getting Malacia out for a loan fee and wages all will help. The season was over months ago, so anyone claiming we're screwed now that Rashford and Antony are gone are just clueless. Amorim is going to start giving young players more game time, getting them used to the EPL, seeing how they react and how they play. All positives for next year. It sucks that this is where Utd is at, but it's the reality and INEOS and Amorim are going to try and make the best of a bad situation. But having said that, overall, I think INEOS is trying their best with the sh*ty deck they’ve been dealt. ALL of the problems we are seeing at Utd stem from the Glazers complete and total incompetence and mismanagement of the team and using this once great club as a bank for them to take out personal loans, thereby putting the club into massive debt, amongst other horrific things as well. In addition, them allowing Jim and INEOS to buy a percentage of the club and be the “face” of the football operation was just another nefarious plot from the Glazers to help deflect negativity from them, to someone else. All while they are still the majority owners. AND, Jim and INEOS can’t say anything about them. It would be bad business and Jim and INEOS wouldn’t be around long if they came in, started trash talking the Glazers and then explaining publicly WHY the team is such shambles since the Glazers took over. The whole thing REEKS of evil and corrupt people doing whatever selfish things they need to do, in order to try and maximize their profits. The Glazers are EVIL f***ed up people, make no mistake about that. They’ll milk this club dry and then throw it away like a used Capri Sun all while they all collect massive disgusting checks for money they don't deserve! The Glazers are pure evil. They are the reason this team is in such shambles and hamstringing Amorim, INEOS and Jim. Sure, INEOS are making some mistakes, but they are also trying to do the best they can. And I am happy with the overall plan of bringing in young talented players for far lower transfer fees that have potential to turn into great or world class players. It’s a MUCH better business model, one that can be sustained and eventually turn into a money making system. You don’t have to look any farther than our baby blue pansy neighbors… sh*ty, to see exactly what Jim, INEOS, Omar and Amorim are planning on doing. They are going to purchase quite a few young players. Some academy players, some almost ready for first team, and some already starting to play first team. That will be the majority of the purchases made going forward. These purchases will obviously be for MUCH lower transfer fees, meaning they can get in more players for less money as well as pay them less in salary. It will be a MASSIVE difference in transfer fee's and salaries overall. They will go into the academy, or out on loan or on the bench and then will BECOME great players. We will not be paying for great “in their prime” players much anymore. If at all. And this has a multi-faceted positive effect for the club. 1). It will allow the coach to mold young players exactly how he wants and needs to succeed in his system. Young players are usually much easier to teach and coach how you want. They have less bad habits and are much more eager to learn and prove themselves. Which if you have watched Sporting, you will realize VERY quickly how great Amorim's system is. And how successful it can be! It is absolutely fantastic football to watch! His Sporting team reminds me a lot of the world class Utd teams of the mid 2000s! Super fast paced, exciting, hungry, aggressive and proactive. 2). Because the club is spending so much less money on transfers overall, they can actually purchase lots more talent. So instead of brining in 2-3 highly skilled players that are already in their prime, they can buy 5-7 young players that have shown exceptional talent and ability, but still aren’t quite “there”. Meaning, they will cost a lot less and then Utd can develop them INTO amazing players. Sir Jim has a quote that has been mentioned quite a few times. Something along the lines of: "we want to DEVELOP the next Mbappe or Messi. Not buy them.” So Utd will be overflowing with young great players in a few years and will continually be able to replenish retiring or leaving players with young talent and academy players. 3). This system will allow Utd to not only have an amazing team with a robust academy of talent to draw on year after year, but it will eventually in about 3-6 yrs turn into a money-making system as well. Utd will have TOO many talented young players that just can’t get into the first team. And just like sh*ty, Bayern, Arsenal, Madrid etc do, they will have to be sold if they want to get first team playing time. And Utd will make a killing off of these talented young players. A lot of which will be pure profit. Multiple players getting sold for 30-70 mil each and every year! So instead of always being in debt, Utd will be making money and have the luxury of going after an amazing player if they want or need it! But all of this is going to take time unfortunately and lots of bad things are going to continue to happen along the way. The team is not going to be great for years. It could be 2-3 years until they’re even back in the top 8 or so! 2-4 until they're back in the top 4. Sure, it could be sooner, but this is SUCH a messed up club, that it's a VERY real possibility it could take 3-5 yeras. But again, the Glazers are to blame here. They’re just going to sit back in their castles, laughing all the way to the bank. Because they aren’t doing ANYTHING, yet Jim and INEOS are getting all the heat and having to take the wrap for THEIR horrible decisions made over the years. And eventually, once Utd is playing really well again and financially viable, they can then cash in and get 8-12 billion for the team. All while they did NOTHING! It's extremely frustrating as a fan. There is a LOT of anger amongst fans and rightly so. But lets not turn on INEOS and Amorim. We need to stick by them and all realize they know what they're doing, they will get us back to the top. But it's going to take time. We're going to suffer before it gets better. That's the only way to do this right.

As a lifelong Manchester united fan I’ve never seen a ticket for less than £140 when I want to go watch a game. If season ticket holders don’t want the prices to go up then I’m lost as to how sell on values for tickets are that high. Don’t get angry when the owners see a bunch of people taking advantage of fans then get angry when they rise the prices. To be honest I’d rather them raise the prices to a point where the resell value isn’t worth it. Then hopefully I don’t get screwed every time I want to go watch a game in the few times I can.

INEOS have made mistakes but they are trying to unpick 15 years + of Glazer mismanagement. Ten Hag and Ashworth were costly mistakes but drops in the ocean vs some of the previous mistakes. We are in the position we’re in because the club has thrown money at players who have under performed. Hojlund and Zirkzee aren’t it, and may never be it, but we aren’t scoring goals because we don’t create chances. Dorgu should help with that. Next up needs to he getting a more creative, but athletic, centre mid to play alongside Ugarte.

I know nothing about finances, but this is my take on things as they are right now(Only talking about our transfer strategy). This window for me taking everything into consideration, is maybe a 6/10, which is pretty descent. A striker would've brought this rating significantly up of course. We were in for Mathys Tel, but even though we left it very late(too late), I agree on the decision to walk away, as Bayerns price for him was laughable. Nkunku was not possible either, and i don't know what other options we had(but it seems like there wasn't much more to get this window). Now I think we need to give INEOS till the summer to prove that they know what they're doing. We're also looking at a summer window where Rashford is 100% gone(£50m at least if he does well at Villa?) and Sancho which I have no idea what his price would be. Still I'm intrigued to see how much we're actually going to be able to spend. We're gonna need AT LEAST two BIG signings this summer, one of them being a striker. And if we're in for Quenda who by every mean is very exciting, it seems like that's already £40m right there. So for a Wing-back+Striker we're looking at what, £100m at least for two signings? I'm interested to see how that's gonna work out, but I must say that I do think INEOS has been getting some things right already. This is pure speculation, and I'm sort of rambling at this point, but we'll gain nothing by scolding INEOS from now until the summer(again, purely on the transfer related stuff). Let's see how they handle this projects potentially most important transfer window in the summer, and we'll take it from there.

None of us know the long-term strategy of SJR / INEOS and I'm damn sure they're not going to make it public - that would be plain dumb. SJR has to have both long-term & short-term strategies with the former maybe looking ten years ahead. We have to trust them on that because there was and is no alternative. Qatar was blood money and there was precious little evidence of the latter. There was zero value in the market this window for forwards so why waste money we don't have?

RATcliffe might as well be a Glazer. His vision for United is the same vision as the Glazers. Exactly the same. No he didn't put us in debt himself, but technically neither did Avram or Joel, it was their father and EdWoodward who both also bought shares in the club. The main reason fans dont try and understand our finances, nor have any sympathy for the club crying poverty - is because of a) the debt & b) the sale. It's asking fans to pay for the mistakes of the vandalism of the club and to be patient and trust those same vandals and thieves while we follow thier blueprint to get back to where we were before they started taking money out of the club and turning it into a franchise. How is it possible to have a sale and bring in over 2 billion in to the club, and yet the debt is still there and there's no plans to clear it and two of the worst most meddling Glazers who eveyone hates are still here. Apparently that's fine, and we're being unreasonable expecting an attacker in January when we've let 2 go. The Glazers are fine, they've got their money, Ratcliffe's fine his shares are holding value But the fans pay more for us to be run like a relegation candidate and there's no money for staff bonuses or a Christmas party. Patience...?

@unitedpeoplestv one of the biggest mistakes was renewing ETH while he still had one year left in his contract (thank you Ashworth!!) that made his departure more expensive at around ~£10M, which funneled out funds that could have been used to finance a striker. I usually agree with you, but this is a pretty bad take in my opinion. Amorim would’ve come here at the end of the season and do what? The cleanup process would’ve begun a lot later and he would’ve had very little time to prepare for next season, this was a write off season in the PL from the get go, might as well bring in the new long term manager as soon as possible and lift the pressure from doing anything in the league while he tries to coach this team into form. As you have mentioned hundreds of times, funds are not unlimited and the finances could be worse than we think, yet here you are talking about how we should’ve gone for a striker during the winter transfer window? I’m appalled and confused by this video.
