Mr BMG, After watching this video and reading comments I thought to point few things out. 1. Sri Lankans are very welcoming and accepting people. Even with language barriers, they usually seek to help tourists and make them comfortable, and that is generally regardless of the country, religion, race, wealth and other orientations of that person. So, I'd like to tell you that we really don't care about your race. Don't think about that and make yourself comfortable. Having said that, don't bring race in every video. 2. Making yourself comfortable doesn't mean that you have to take others comfort away from them in order to make you feel comfortable. If you want to talk to a person, slowly approach them, and introduce yourself first and ask if it's ok to record them. You just can't shove the camera to their face and expect them to talk like they know you for years. Some will be ok with that, but some people are private and shy and they become even more self-conscious when they're being recorded. If a person is not really willing to talk just thank them and excuse yourself out. 3. I understand you are a social person, but when you're at a restaurant or a public place, if there are unoccupied space, kindly take that first. Then introduce yourself to people you want to talk and ask if its ok to sit with them. Don't rush. 4. Don't ask too private questions from a person you just met. That being their marital status, and things related to their relationships. Specially from ladies. Some will be ok to share, but it's best not to ask. 6. Some people will try to take advantage from you for being a tourist. Know that such things do happen and be cautious, but not everybody are like that. And kindly don't ask for free rides. If they are willing to, you take it. 7. The title is misleading. You should change it, but I do see that you haven't even after many had requested you to. Disappointed. I hope you won't take this personally. I shared few things I considered better if changed, for you and natives to have a meaningful and comfortble interactions and travel experience. Have a good stay.
