Ever since covid hit, it has become hard to find physical media - vinyl and cds - at the Goodwills. Just when I was about to give up on Goodwill for music, I decided I would try again. To my surprise I found a few cds and my husband found some records. I was even lucky enough to find an amazing Sony 5 disc changer.

Finding the cd player was great. I don’t usually see any gear in our local goodwills. I found my 5 cd changer on Facebook marketplace. You found some great music too. Enjoyed the video as usual.

Oh yes FB market place - I forgot about looking on there for stuff. Yeah we scored big w the 5 disc changer, now Goodwill has a 60 day return policy which makes it easier to try out electronics.

Our goodwill has 99 cents cd’s and 50 cent cd’s on Sunday. Its near a university and sometimes pickup some cool finds.

Nice finds! I mostly go to Goodwill to look for scented candles and for books. Only time I'll buy CD's is at the Bins, take them out of the case, stuff between clothes or whatever else you are buying so you are only paying by weight, costs almost nothing.

Thank you Richard! It must have been a year or so since I walked out excited for my findings, so glad I got the cd player , I gotta give the credit to my husband for spotting the potential of it, the player fit perfectly with my other stereo items

Hi Monica - That Moby cd is a Whale 🐋 of a disc ! Bobby Womack did one of my 70's albums Facts Of Life & his song Across 110th St.is one of many smooth tunes on the Jackie Brown soundtrack. Bobby also appears on Stylo by Gorillaz. He was great. That Tyrone Davis is a nice R&B album. Good stuff.

The records and CDs were cool enough but the Sony CD player was really something! I have a Sony CD burner/player and it's great. The closest Goodwill is over 100 miles. Good for pants but not records. I was at one down in Ventura and my sister got a cool t-shirt for Halloween and I grabbed some books. Worth going to!

Yes - I love finding random stuff lol, the CD player had been on my wishlist for a long time, we ended up spending $20 for it. such a good deal

Hello Monie 👋! Great selections of R&B, and that Tyrone Davis cover was indeed a hoot! That's my parent's music😅! Good Will has been ups and downs in my area, I had scored 6 Gill Scott Heron albums at one time(!), and just yesterday, a single purchase of Bob Dylan's Desire album, slightly water damaged, but the vinyl is VG...in both cases, I was 😁! Other times there would be Al Martino...but surprisingly, no Herb Alpert...😊!

Back in the day (2019) I would always find cool cds and records, a lot has happen since then lol, so glad to finally get something interesting. I was checking out more of Tyrone Davis and his stuff is really COOL!

@MonieMuse He, Tyrone Davis had some pretty good records that I liked, my mom liked If I Could Turn Back The Hands of Time and Can I Change My Mind, those were her favorites. Glad you and your husband are into R&B, I feel it isn't represented as much as Jazz...or even Disco (I like them both, have them in my collection...!). Good Will has it's seasons, I guess I'm not as patient as I used to be...I just go with the flow, sometimes Amazon, sometimes Record Stores, sometimes Good Will, wherever the wind takes me...minding my budget of course...!

I purchased a 6 cd Kenwood player from the Goodwill with its 2 cartridges. I've forgotten how much it cost but the Goodwill usually prices these things around $12.99. It's like new. Fun to load with a single artist's work. Thanks for the video.

You have to be at the store when the records come out at the Goodwills because those are usually the first things to sell !

lighting on point. what happened to the slider? i dont feel like ive seen you use that lately. cool pickups. i just hit two goodwills today. ive been being very picky lately about pickups there even if they are really cheap. hadnt bought anything in awhile but today there were 5 i couldnt pass up.

Thank you! Been working on the lighting, I used the slider on the broll here but it didn’t look dynastic enough, I did “push in”. I gotta look up some slider ideas. Oh good you found 5 cds! My last trip they’re were only like 10 cds left.

@@MonieMuse yeh the two goodwills near me have been up and down with the amount of CDs they stock. but so far it hasnt gotten as bad as just less than 20 like i’ve seen other places. one of them actually for first time ever had a couple vinyl albums i was interested in. but i decided to pass.

Hey Monie, $3.00 for a record isn't bad pricing. But did my eyes deceive me? $3.99 for each CD? Ouch! Nice pick on the CD player. You may check thrift stores for a SONY CD remote. The nice thing about Sony remotes is that they typically state what they control right on the front of them - and most Sony CD remotes all speak the "same language." Enjoy!

Lol yes cds are now $3.99, and now records are $7.99!! Prices are changing more often than the weather here 😂 I was able to find a remote on eBay, it’s so nice 😊

JT says you always can find music at Good wils and thrift stores maybe it's your area which items sells fast, cool a new cd player , Sony very nice , nice Phil Collins, Moby , Andreia , Webster Lewis , Harvey Manson , Tyrone Davis with Ringware ,, Bobby Wookman , my guess not very much Webster Lewis my guess for that 1979 album under 50.00 on discogs , Harvey Manson same guess , Bobby Wookman from 1978 I would also guess it sells for about 30 plus but under 50. questions 1. for late 70's that people listen to today which bands do you think is more popular Tavarse , The Tramps, Thelma Houston, Donna Summer or Ac/dc , Van Halen , kiss , Judas Priest or Webster Lewis , Harvey Manson and Bobby Wookman 2. which do you think goes for more on discogs the Disco ones that I mentioned or the hard rock/Metal or the albums that you picked up? 3.. for the records that you showed do you have them on other formats cassette , cd or 8 track?

Ac/dc, Van Halen, kiss are extremely popular still. I don’t have these albums on another format. That’ll be awesome if these records go for more than I bought them for, means they’re a good investment 😆

@@MonieMuse 1. I agree Ac/dc, Judas Priest , Kiss and Van Halen are very , very very popular 3. I see Newbury comics are selling cassettes but there asking for from 13.99 up to about 19.99 they look like newer albums other than Dirty dancing over priced cassettes.
