@ENTITY 1 I love when scam calls and there is a real person i'm talking too. Unfortunately I don't get many calls anymore cause I troll them too much. My mom started getting them on her landline so one time when I was over a scammer called. I pretended to hear him out for a bit enough to interest him then made the loudest turkey gobble noise i could (i'm talking my mom heard it from her room) and hung up. For a moment I could hear his surprised reaction. I have since taught my younger siblings a few ways how to deal with scammers for my mom and themselves.

I get scam calls like that all the time, either that there's a warrant out for my arrest, or that they're offering a refund on some product I didn't buy, you name it I've been scam targeted for it. Sometimes I'll amuse myself if I'm in the right mood and answer a call and if there's a human on the line I'll say something like "Mmmmm...what are you wearing hot stuff?" in an overly gay sounding voice and usually get hung up on.

I was taught from a police officer that these types of scams don’t only affect all people and migrants/international students but there was no individual demographic that stood out from the others. Statistically, it doesn’t matter if you were born in Canada or you were an immigrant, it doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, It doesn’t matter if you’re in the tech or in to sewing. The scammers have a different social engineered scam for people in different demographics, and strategies to discover which demographic the victims most likely belong to. Also, Younger people were less likely to admit being scammed. This is regional data.
