I was going to C6 Raiden, but I changed my mind. Genshin character review!

In many corners of the Genshin community, there’s an almost unspoken assumption that everyone ends up having a favourite character, and that people serious about their favourite will take them to C6.
Early on, even before I met her in game, I had decided that Raiden would be the one I take that far.
More than 2 years later, after three re-runs, my Raiden is NOT C6.
And she never will be.

I love how you narrate your own experiences and feelings and I liked the twist in the end. I also felt like I had to at least C2 my Nahida or Shenhe cause they are my favorite 5 star characters but clearing the abyss with my favorite teams (not the meta ones necessarily) and with some struggle makes it more satisfying in the end. I still have a long way until I 36 star the abyss but gotta enjoy the journey. Also I love your aesthetic and editing in the videos. 😊

As a "skill issue" player, I am slightly tempted by these massively powerful constellations, but as a late game non-abyss enjoyer, I feel like I'll have more fun with a wider variety of C0 characters. It's an interesting tension.

It really is! Even if it weren't for the big powerboot, I do generally believe it's more benefiacial to have a wider variety of character since that allows for flexibility. Also often just snatching one or two QoL cons (extra skill use ones usually) is more than enough and ads enjoyment!

@@VrtielA6300 Abyss isn't really *that* many primogems tbh - I'd definitely recommend people get into the habit of doing floors 9 & 10 even if they don't feel comfortable doing floors 11 & 12, skipping one or two floors isn't going to make a big difference though!

This video is a really healthy dose of discussion this climate for a gacha game needs. Naturally those going for Cons, weapon refines are what help sustains the game for company benefit. On the other (and much important) hand, the hype setting novelty that the gacha atmosphere make for Cons, doing 'justice' to your favorites and just wanting faster taste of power with bigger numbers really needs to be reflected upon. Being someone who joined at the start of Inazuma, I've come to see constellations, for many, as a means to bypass the hells of the artifact grind when it comes to their favorite 5 stars. (Of the DPS variety anyways.) That alongside of the peer pressure dialogue you've made note of really can prey on the bad spending habits. I'm glad you've managed to keep a level head, and in kind, using the platform to also share that wisdom. While I believe it's a good point that people should do to make them happy, I always picture that a good bit of the time, people don't really know what they want until they have it. Videos like yours are some welcomed clarity. While I'm not gonna knock folks who want to prolong the games longevity, I'd like to see it be a more conscious, more reasonable choice compared to letting excitement cloud their judgement. This is sooo relatable!!!! I started playing genshin because of her and fortunately got her on her first banner. I had so much fun playing her!!! I really liked her voicelines especially the Ei ones and her burst. So I waited for her rerun and got her at c3 luckily. But by then I almost already had good built team and could clear abyss. At first c3 Raiden felt like such an upgrade!!! But then after sometime I felt like there's not really much to do in the game anymore. Boss fight was soo struggling at 1st but it had become so unenjoyable suddenly. Now the only thing I look forward to ingame are the new character banners and archon quest. It's really bad all the fun of playing the game went poof 😢

I felt the exact same way! At first I was in awe of my new c2 raiden, especially when paired with Sara (c6).. Not having to ever retry when clearing the abyss felt like a success, until I realised that it wasn't as satisfying. As another commenter said; it kind of felt like playing with a "cheat code". So I started using my Raiden less and less to the point where I forgot how much I actually love playing her 🥺 While making this video I was just once again admiring her design because she is simply divinely beautiful💜

When it comes to cons, there are some I do want, like Neuvillete, Furina, Yae, Wanderer, since all of them happens to be my current favourite characters. But I don't feel compelled on getting C6, since 1-my luck is lackluster and 2- most c1/c2 do their jobs well enough. As for a character being too powerful, i've experienced recently with Neuvi (c0r1) when I saw him deleting a hilichurl with just his skill, which is why I'm prefering to let Furina's pets do the dirty job in the overworld.

This appearing in my FYP a few hours before her rerun drops haha. I have C2R1 and initially planned to C6 but honestly Raiden C4 to C6 isnt even that good! That's what made me comfortable with skipping them despite her being my favourite character. At C3 she is basically perfect, the only reason to spend more to get past that is to be able to say 'I spent more' and thats not reason enough. I liked your point about the easiness of the game in regards to cons. However when it comes to Raiden, she is so powerful in lore and such a scary presence at times, she is the one character that I am happy to just insta-delete my enemies. Interestingly I also C2'd my Furina for her to be able to insta-delete things as I felt she was mistreated in the story and by the characters. Seeing her ruin everything makes me happy because at least on my account she can be as powerful and in-the-spotlight as I had hoped she would be in the main story. We need more endgame content fr

Truly. My main team is Alhaitham,Kazuha,Kuki, and yelan. Everything dies before i can even get to alhaitham in the rotation. I remember when being able to 2 shot the ruin gaurds on the liyue island was a giant milestone.

That's a great philosophy for gacha games in general - especially when like Genshin they can turn much easier over time. I really like how you put it in this video. I prefer to spend my effort on 'bad' characters to bring them up to the level of the 'good' ones - rather than improve the 'good' ones to a level that both trivializes the game *and* make the 'bad' characters look unplayable in comparison!

Started 4 days towards the end of Wrioswesly/Venti banner, Raiden was my very first limited character to have and I went all out on her. I did try to pull for Furina but lost to Dehya at 8 pity. Whille I can get Furina guarantee, I decided to save it for Raiden. I absolutely love her design and gameplay. The adrenaline and satisfying feeling of her bursting just makes her so fun for me to play despite how simple and easy her kit is. So far, I got her from unowned to C2 despite of losing 50/50s to Tighnari and Diluc after getting her C0 and C1. Rn she's using the Catch and I don't planned on getting her sig weapon until Genshin changes their weapon banner to be like Hsr. I run her with C4 Chevreuse, C6 Sara, and C2 Xiangling and I got to say, this comp is really fun to use! Genshin needs to bring more harder endgame content as it doesn't really have one for years. I planned on getting her C3 also and call it done for her since it's technically her "c6ing" her and I like that you can reach it that early. I really like her a lot after toying with her for awhile and she became one of my most favorite character in Genshin. My next five stars are Furina and Hu Tao as they're in my top three of wanting the most alongside Raiden. After that, I'll see who I want next.

It took me a year in genshin to realise that 1. "Meta does not exist" > due to non-competitive & casual endgame aka abyss where anyone (except dehya😳) can get 36 star given time. 2. "36 stars/perfect clear gets boring quickly" > It's more fun to have a dark souls vibe to the abyss where I have to curate teams to specific chambers and still struggle to get 36 stars barely passing with adrinaline rush. 3. "It's A side game" > Playing max 30mins to 1 hr infrequently without worrying about missing meta chars Is more fun for long term enjoyment of this game and real life in general. Finally I deleted my meta account and now enjoying a casual account with a cup of tea ☕ just relaxing and enjoying the community and regular updates infrequently 😊

Also speaking of Dehya: I don't have her on my main account, but I recently got her on my VERY casual f2p side account, and just the other night I was seeing how far I could get in the abyss on that side, and even though I slapped a somewhat questionable build on her she actually carried on the second half of floor 12 😂 Still the teams weren't *quite* good enough to scrape the third star in any chamber, but it was close enough that with a little more tweaking it might even be possible! The reset will happen before I'll have time/energy to make said tweaks, but I was actually a little impressed with her haha.

I C6 my main and never regret my decisions. And since my daily job took most of my time and energy and my goal for playing genshin is to having fun exploring with ease and swipe everything to dust in one hit is my satisfaction. So I never have an issued with too powerful character. I do C6 because I love them and want them at their best. This is just my own opinion and decision. thats the only reason why i havent wished a single time in the weapon banner in my 3 years of playing genshin....i would rather have more charecters than getting a single charecter c6 or the weapon....although my lucj is pretty good in genshin....i got ayaka c2+mona under 70 pulls{i was building pityy for raiden)...but otherwise i wouldnt have done that....from the start of my account i was struck with bow chara(lyney...childe...but they are my fav ones so no complaine)...so getting to play with a sword chara feels so refreshing to me....commissions doesnt feel like a chore to me now....and honestly speaking i dont care about abyss...i am in genshin because of the story and charecters....oh and yes i also got raiden.

You know saurusness, your point about the difficulty really hit home for me. I began saving for Raiden as soon as I started playing in 3.0, and I saved up 30k primos and also swiped on top of that to get C3R1 Raiden (with C6 Sara too). It was really exciting, and I LOVE my Raiden but... soon enough I stopped using her altogether. Even in the abyss, it feels like playing with a cheat code and doesn't bring me satisfaction. it's definitely a double-edged sword for people who enjoy a challenge. Love your videos, thank you!

Omg "cheat code" is the perfect analogy! It doens't feel as satisfying when you know it's due to a characters innate OPness (or extra cons). Meanwhile I remember the feeling when I first 36 starred the abyss after many weeks of trying and getting close and closer each time. I think I was probably maybe AR55ish, and still fairly early on in terms of equipment as well as built characters... I remember it was a very close call and took several tries but when I finally managed it, it felt like when you beat the final boss in any game! Also thank you! 💜

@@alifalfarras6522 Yes and I feel like in a game like HSR, where 'skill' has even less to do with how well your teams do that's honestly quite frustrating... In a turn based game you're strategy will only take you so far, and the rest is entirely up to chance (i.e. whether an effect takes effect on you or the enemy, who the enemy decides to target, etc). I don't have any high eidolon 5 stars in HSR, and it took about 3h of repetition to finally figure out teams that max cleared stage 12, and unlike in Genshin where the combat is real time as well as fast paced, in HSR that can get real old and repetitive real quick, and so I didn't really feel that rush of "success" after, as I might have on a low investment genshin account..

I never pulled on weapon banner, since your epitomised path get cleared every patch, you technically won't guarantee your weapon unless you have 200+ pulls, and I never get that many.

Honestly, smart decision. I got tempted by the weapon banner too many times and I wish I had spent those wishes on characters instead 😩 I think people (like me) get tempted since we often see others post about their super lucky pulls where they got weapons at 20-30 pity, and once you start wishing the cost sunk fallacy grabs you and holds you down until you get gold or run out of wishes 💀 Never again.

As someone who joined Genshin from online RPGs where I was an “alt-o-holic”, never keeping the same build for long and trying every character class, I find the “main” culture to be very weird, actually! The closest I am to a main is that I bring the traveler for every story quest. I’m afraid to pull a lot of 5 stars’ C2 (only one 5 star I have at C2R1) because I want to be able to lose if I play badly. I already cripple my team synergy on purpose in story quests because defeating the big bad in 15 seconds kills the story for me. …also this game has good combat music: it’s annoying I don’t even get past the opening of a track. As you mention at the end, either way this is a game, so people should do what they want to entertain themselves (rather than make a false perception of people happy).

I agree with you regarding QoL constellations. I only have Yelan E1 currently, but it is just so good for exploration, and not having to worry about energy. I love Yelan but I have no intention of getting more of her constellations, she is a beast already. I'll try to get a C1 Neuv on his rerun, so I don't have to run him with a shielder, and can get maximum benefit from his passive with only 2 elements.

I started playing the game a few months ago and got neuvillette as my very first limited banner 5 star I was so in love with him that I decided to C6 him in the future even got furina for him but as I completed building him most of the enemies die with just one or two beams even though I am using prototype amber so I can understand what you are trying to say hence I have dropped the idea of getting his cons and weapon not because I don't love him but because it will make the game just to Easy ♥️.

Great video! I’d eventually like c2 Raiden and c2 Nahida in order to have easy abyss options if necessary. I also like the challenge of trying to clear it with suboptimal teams. Yeah admittedly while it takes some of the fun out, there IS also the plus point of knowing that if you're pressed for time or not feeling up for a challenge, you always have the sure safe bet character for an easy clear! But my philosophy going forward is to just hoard all the people instead and my goal is to try and make use of every single weapon I have, no pulling fancy ones just because they match and my favourite "deserves" 😅

I love being overpowered, but i also agree in loving/missing the challenge. I have a couple of favorite C6 characters that I use to clear grinding content quickly, like domains, bosses etc. But most of my other 5* are C0-C1, and i know i can always switch to them when i feel like i actually want to play the game again, haha.

I cant agree more to the whole video. Kinda had a similar journey with the game also falling in love with raiden from second 1. I actually started playing around her first rerun and hit the c2 in the second one. Since then i thought many many times about the time I would c6 her and yet I am still happy to have stayed at my c2 and not spend too much primos on something that would at the and probably not be worth it when compared to get new characters. Another amazing video and a real pleasure to hear the opinion of another raiden lover on this thought.

11:36 I'm kinda torn about getting neuv c1 for this reason, i actually loved the consecrated beasts in sumeru and even the 3.7 infamous abyss, i really enjoy when enemies can kill me and are not just damage sponges. But after 3.5 years of playing the days where i just want 600 primos in 15-20 minutes every couple of weeks are starting to win over the days were i want to learn the enemies pattern and adapt my rots 😅😅, i play neuv shiedless so at least i gotta "think"(cuz they die fast anyways LOL) a lil bit about positioning. Plus we have arle,sige,chiori and clorinde on the list first and so far fontaine been delivering with all the limiteds. Hope they maintain this quality in natlan, probably the region im looking forward most myself. As side note i got algorithm'd by the end of sumeru video 6 months ago, really enjoy the structure of your videos, looking forward for more fontaine & old char rerun analysis this year too.

Yeah I do agree that much as I enjoy treating the abyss as a puzzle to solve, knowing you don't *have to* struggle if you just want an easy clear is quite a perk! Nice commentary video! About Raiden's cons: I also always wanted her C2, so I got 1 con on each of her reruns (I don't have Engulfing Lightning, as I don't ever wish on the weapons banner). This current banner I got her C3 while wishing for a SINGLE copy of Chevreuse, who as chance would have it appeared on the same 10-pull as Raiden, around 80 pity. I can tell you, there's a big difference in power between a C2 and C3 Raiden, is insane. About Raiden's character: You share the same POV as most, but I propose a different one. (sorry for the long text) She was presented as three things to us: a leader, a warrior and a goddess. As a leader, she set a direction for her country -that is, to never change-, enacted the decrees she thought would steer to that direction and left the people to govern themselves, only acting when strictly necessary. As a warrior, she knows war inside out, its motives, actions and consequenses. It's the only life she knows, so it is to be expected that her state would use force as a measure of policing. And as a full-blown goddess, she lacks human empathy. Inazuma's AQ is full of plot holes, but the gist of it is the evolution of Ei's mindset into a more empathetic one, to make her more "human". Although she was the antagonist, it was never the intention of the Inazumans to kill her, trapped her or get rid of her in some form, but to make her change. She doesn't need to redeem herself in any way, because she always played by the rules enacted since the beginning of Inazuma. In fact, her people always loved her (Narukami at least, Watatsumi in a whole other story). Her soldiers die happily for her. The AQ gave us the concepts of erosion and eternity, and how Ei tries to achieve the latter, while avoiding the former. By the end of the AQ, she begins to see the flaws on her ideas. Her first SQ shows us how she tries to understand humanity better, while her empathy grows, and actively involves herself in politics. Her second SQ shows us the end of her old ways. Coming to terms with her past and her sister's vision, she decides on a new path and she fought her puppet for 500 years to prove her new resolve. Her second SQ is one of my very favorites of the game. With this one HYV started to flex and show what they're capable of, later cemented with Sumeru's and Fontaine's AQ. The voice acting of Anne Yatco as Ei, Makoto and the puppet was flawless. The emotional rollercoaster of revisiting the ghosts of her past. The totally out of character "bring me back my goddess" line of Yae Miko (tsundere much?). And of course, the twist about the Sakura tree's origin, all made up for an unforgetable story. Unfortunately, that pretty much wrapped up Raiden's story in the game, and now her participation is pretty much reduced to some funny awkward attemps at blending in with the population, while everyone freaks out at the presence of a f-ing goddess. Never will we have a confrontation between Ei and Scaramouche (she might not even remember him now)

I mean I got only 1 C6 my Kazuha after 3 Banners i had all Constellation I was very Lucky and I am still happy about it and he was my first 5 Star and remember me on my Main Yasuo from League of Legends 😊. Raiden I got on C3 and I never will get more constellations because I don’t think it’s worth for me ^^. I need still say Inazuma Characters are my Favourite to this day. Kazuha, Raiden ,Kokomi, Yoimiya and Ayaka I love them all 😊.

My only C6 in the entire game is Yae not only because she is my favorite character in the entire game but also because her C6 brings her into an entirely different level (basically the same effect as Raiden C2). After that though, the only constellations I personally see worth getting are supports like C2 Baizhu, Furina etc. Not to mention, Fontaine has been introducing really hard hitting characters at C0 that can rival even C2 Raiden’s damaging capabilities like Neuvilette and Navia so getting more characters is actually more beneficial than vertically investing in just one these days.

Not wanting the game to be easier might be one of the reasons why I've decided against getting both Raiden and Nahida. Currently the only 5 star constellation I'm planning to get is Childe's C1, but all others I'll likely be keeping at C0 and just trying to snipe the 4 stars I like off of banners (cross my fingers it continues to go well since I've been successful in sniping Thoma, Kuki, and Chevreuse (as well as the box cutter sword for Kuki)).

I recently got her C2/3, this was my goal for 2 years now as she is my 2nd favorite character in the game (right after Yanfei, don't ask), design and lore (even if the izamura archon quest did a really bad job on portraying her, let be real, it was trash. Like you actually need dig every bit of text in inazuma and the inazuma's characters to actually have a decent amount understanding of her. Lets not talk about the genius in GI writing dep who actually added lore and character progression in an ANNIVERSARY MAIL and limited time events that many will just skip through. I'm sorry about the rant, it just frustrate me reading mischaracterisation every here and there). Anyway back to the cons, with C2/3, she somehow became a "delete button" in the overworld (abyss too but this doesn't really matter to me), I'm not the type to do rotation outside the abyss ,etc but just the slash feels like a cheat and waste to use. So if I want to use her burst, I need to purposely miss the 1st slash and use the follow ups. Note that I do not ragret getting cons for her one bit as I usually play her in co-op (I always do domains in co-op) since mobs do have higher hp. Still, the difference in power between C1 and C3 is insane. As of right now, I don't have any plan on pulling more 5* characters (archons are the exception) in this more focused game progression, 4* are more interresting to me, so I'll just go for weapons now (Noëlle is still missing this Redhorn). I do have a 2nd game progression, used for collection, collection of characters I would want to play from time to time and don't pull in the other one, I do have a well built C0R1 Raiden, it keeps her amazing gameply in the otherworld that the C3 somehow destroyed. With that said, in this collector progression, I'll go and try to get Miko to C3 as her first 3 cons are more of QoL and just a bit of dps increase cons, not going past that as it will result in the same C3 raiden case. Those two are the only characters I used money to get their weapon, it was hell but worth it(?). One thing I've leared from this, QoL cons are better, so from here on , C1 is the limit I'll go for a 5* character as most of the them are QoL cons. Miko will be the last one that I'll go for C3.. what a great video, i have rarely heard any videos where ppl talk about this. i think im the sane as you. i have Yelan at C2 and never intend on raising her any higher. I once saw a comment from a person who had Yelan at C6 and regrets it because she can solo kill everything and makes the game so easy. Did you end up liking Ei's character and story in the end? I really started liking her after doing her first story quest. And now having watched lore videos about her, i absolutely love her. Her bond with Makoto and she suffered so much loss. She was just a fighter/bodyguard who suddenly had the role of Archon thrust upon her. I think it was good to see her making bad decisions aNd slowly finding her way. I read a comment once that i liked. We get to see Venti and Zhongli after they'd already learned how to be an Archon, but we experience Ei during the time she is learning about what she should do. it was last year where i got C4r1 yelan in her rerun. at that point i realized she is strong and my teams are completed. she kills enemy quite fast in abyss, very much faster when she was c2r1. but i like it that way, somewhere not too easy and not too hard, just a bit in the easy region. about 1 minute clear time in one side is just perfect. bear in mind i have also c3r1 raiden, c2r1 nahida, kazuha national and kokomi. my teams are completed i feel i dont need to wish anymore. now just stacking primos.

I would honestly say she carries at c0 even! I got the first 2 cons on the second rerun, but it was getting raiden that started my 36 star streak, and she (and her teams) did that at c0 for 10 months!

I started playing about 2 months before Inazuma, the first 5 stars seasonal banner character I got was kazuha, and then shogun. Managed to pull signatures weapons for both of them, and just C3 my shogun an hour ago. Gotta say, she is the best nuke so far, and kazuha absolutely rips it in any non geo team. It’s been nearly 3 years, and none of my 5 stars char could compare. So far, neuvilette comes the second best as a DPS, and there’s no one who can beat kazuha in reaction support atm.

Hmm yes, at that time when c2 raiden was a massive hype back in v2.0 many players at that point are not well-geared and knowledgeable in many aspects of the game and has less good 5 stars interms of dps, so her c2 made really an impact in those days. But now with many easy-to-build team with introduction of dendro, things get a lot easier and easier, also the power level of many new 5 star characters are already good enough at c0, like yelan, nahida, nilou, alhaitham, ayato and so on (specially w/ neuv) This issue with overpower against 90% of game's content can be resolve by adding more AR level/World level (that feels like floor 12 abyss), I really dont see why this thing cant be added, if their concern is the casual players w/ skill issues, they just need to make world adjustable between lv6-lv10 (if they added another 2 levels) that even if their AR goes past 60, also they could add floor 13 with weekly boss in it but x5 harder

When I 1st got her, was hell bent on getting her C2.... Fast forward today, I prefer variety and new playstyles.... Unfortunately while trying to snipe last constellation of Sara (to try out hypercarry team comp) got C1 Raiden early at 32 wishes (50/50) ayayay... Got copies of Bennett (probably C12 by now), C1 Chevreuse and still no C6 Sara 😢.

GAHH that's just how it goes 😩 If it make syou feel any better, once upon a time while trying to snipe a single Heizou on his debut (while also wishing for the 5 stars of course) I got 17 copies of ninguang. Seventeen. She was alreayd c6 before that banner, and at current date my records say she's c38 or c39 💀 (actually seriously)

I agree. The game was much more fun when elites felt treatening and even the world bosses took some time. Regarding the cons I decided to pull only cons that dont add power to a char but convinience. About abyss I can 36 star it with hydro traveler, Lisa, Colei, Linette, Heizou, Diluc etc subpar units so it doesnt matter anymore as an example I skipped Neuvilete for Wryo, and will pull CR and Cheveruse for the different teams that they open. My Raiden is C0 on ELightning and she kicks ass in double hydro, rational or even some more non meta teams like Venti/Furina/ Charlote quite good in fact/

I personally have it hard to decide if I want view characters strong (c2 raiden, c2 furina, c2 nahida) or do i want/need more c0 characters instead🤔 but I also think that I won't play every c0 5star character I have, so that makes me lean on the way to get some early constellations on a view characters. I also am a noob and I play on phone. 😂. The more character you have the more you have to farm and upgrade and as we all know artifacts domains are casino🎰 where we all lose(waste our resin by getting useless trash).

After C3 R1 she doesn’t gain anything, her C4-6 are useless for power. Newer Units at C2 feel overpowered (Nahida, Furina) and some even feel complete at C0 (Navia, Neuvillette)

If only playing casually, so yes. If for Spiral Abyss, strong characters and constellations are must. I always seeing peoples keeps blaming someone else are playing weak characters (Without a strong 4★ characters or just a few of Standard 5★ characters) to attempting in Spiral Abyss. Because just only a single Standard 5★ Character been compared with all of those Limited 5★ Characters all about damages only without thinking of elements (All elements) because one own banner. It's almost 3 years now, but the fixing still unfulfilled.

Strong characters yes, constellations for limited 5 stars? Nah, not necessary. I've 36 starred the abyss every time for two years now, and up until a month or two ago, my only limited 5 star con was Shenhe. I now have a few more (Yelan, Baizhu, Furina since she came home twice in one 10pull, and now Raiden since she came super early) but not really big DPS ones. Plus low-effort alt account which is F2P, has no limited cons at all, hasn't really been invested into that much, and can already get 33 stars fairly easily, despite only being started last December!

"Why I would not C6 my Raiden?" For the majority of us, the answer is that we simply do not have the primos nor the funds for said primos to do that. So the decision has pretty much been made for us. But even if I wasn't limited by primos or funds, I don't think I would. I tend to be more of a horizontal, not vertical investor. If I can beat game content without having to C6 an expensive limited 5*, why would I, even if it takes a few minutes longer? And if I can't beat that game content, do I really need to? To play Genshin in the laziest...er...most efficient and casual manner possible, I only consider the archon quests and a few of the important world quests to be truly mandatory. Everything else, Spiral Abyss, domains, boss fights, etc. are optional extracurricular activities that can be skipped or minimized. I want to focus more on the core RPG aspects of Genshin to avoid having it scope creep and take up more and more of my time. Otherwise, I'd burn out...

Get your Mains built first. Depending on your WL, you should max out the weapons, talents and levels (in that order) of 2 carries first. Ideally a DPS and Sub DPS. Then if you have time you can level your other members, but that's up to you. Most characters you don't plan on using long term can be leveled to 60 with talents at level 4 and left there while you level your mains to 90. I'm currently at AR46 with only XL and Kuki built. I started one month ago and am yet to pull on any banner. It's totally manageable and there's only 2 time trial DPS checks I haven't been able to clear.

For someone who doesnt really want to spend much time try-harding Abyss, i'd prefer to get some C6 5* to buldoze the building. Having 1 or 2 strong unit translate into better Co-Op experiences as well, its lot easier helping your friend grind bosses or whatever they needed to with that limited slot. And easier exploration session, but thats mostly due to using strong non-burst oriented unit. Which mean, i dont have to send this hilicurl camp into the next universe with my Ultimate and use white attack in the next camp to recharge it again. Just some tap of E or hold-click should be enough. The downside is, getting C0R0 5* feels so weak after that, but then again as some later character built with nicher strength, not getting everyone wont hurt much. Well, i got early player privilege, maybe thats why. So yeah, for new players, first thing first, get know which character playstyle suits you well. Dont force higher constelation, even more if thats require you to burn your saving. Wait for their rerun before deciding to increase the conste. At that time, there will be more new shiny character released and you might have a change of heart, thats way you wont regret much in the long run, and begrudgingly play the game like few part of the fanbase. Never ever force yourself to spend in the game.

Aye ultmately everyone's preferences are different and there really are no right or wrong choices! There is also a nice feeling of chill knowing you have a character who can bulldoze any content when you're *not* feeling up for a challenge! (and for some people that's all he time, which is also ok) My point is really to try and make sure your choices are informed, and not just "she's my fave thus I shall c6 because it's what we do in this community" which is what was going on with me, and which is the case for many people who found themselves similarly disappointed!

I wanted to get Chevy so I pulled and wasted my pity on Raiden. I had her c2 so now shes c3. I like her a lot but it was so unnecessary. She went from clearing floors in 1 minute to 45 seconds. I definitely didnt need that extra 15 seconds lol. Oh well i got Chevy tho. I wanted to try overload teams since it was new

Chevy gives me a new option and I Like Raiden so having her stronger isn't the end of the world. If Chori is good I might need to wait for her rerun now. i want to get raiden but i want nahida and ive heard of many other characters that i love which will rerun, but whenever i hear "so i waited next rerun" that gives me motivation to wait, i already know that they will rerun but it somehow always give me more motivation to save, i love her attack patterns and her outfit but i would rather pull her familiar aka yae miko which has a prettier burst, cooler looking skill (it reminds me of a fox sprinting across the grass) and design overall, maybe one day i will get raiden but once i get yae miko i will lose all purpose to get raiden, why would i need an electro support that is "meta" when i could just get one i like that can do the same? she may not be as "meta" but shes just prettier and i prefer her gameplay, plus i love how her tail shows up when you plunge down with her, and if i ever wanna see her voice lines (which is also a big part of me pulling characters) i could just search online, so unfortunately ill be skipping her but shes just so pretty, in the future ill probably have most characters that i like so ill just wait until then, also i wouldve gotten her on my alt but i wanna get nahida so i can use her skill during story quests cause ill also get her on my main but ive done more than half of the story quests so i missed the opportunity, i love hu tao but i dont think i would ever c6 her unless genshin lasts for more than 2 more years and that isnt because of the whole strength situation but just because i dont wanna go poor because of cons, i would rather get every character in the game than to get a c6 character of a 5 star (but i dont mind standard c6 characters, just not the limited ones), if i had a job to make income often would i pull for her then? yes, i would love to but im just a "fish" in genshin terms (only bought welkin) so i dont have the money for that to get her specifically, but i will be spending during the lantern rite banners because ive gotten a glimpse at the characters i just dont think shes worthy enough for me to pull for using money until later down the line when i have actual income, goodluck to everybody who wants her though unfortunately ill just have to wait longer but thats my rant about raiden (sorry for whoever read this entire paragraph lol, its just some useless info about my opinions and how i dont have the financial status to go for her just yet)

Yeah if you like Yae more then definitely prioritise her! Also Nahida's skill thing in quests - it only works during Sumeru quests, doesn't work on anything from the other nations sadly. She's still worth it though!

@@YinPatterns Yeah really wish they'd done that! In the in-game lore it's to do with the Akasha system, which only exists in Sumeru, and visitors don't usually get an Akasha terminal, so for events it'd just depend on whether Hoyo feels like it I guess 😅

I say this......chose 1 5 star character you want to C6 and have as a Main. You dont have to save 100K primogems to try to get that character to C6 instantly, but instead build them overtime. C6 is just over invest. Even if you're content creators, c6r5 videos wouldn't be a good reference for your viewers (other than being flex). Best is to stay around c2 r1 where your viewers can be easier follow your footsteps.

i’m going to think about c6ing a character after we get to natlan. i have enough characters to build rn so getting constellations or new units is all about investment (fun) or utility. i was going to do it for nahida or baizhu but i had a thought. i need to see the character design choices hoyo makes for natlan because either i’m going to swipe happily or i’m going to become a forced to play (since i’ve already swiped a bit before) to finish the story. i hope there’s proper Black playable characters from natlan. it’s blatant racism if not, honesty
