Robert Pattenson(?) is the best Batman. He has the chiseled jaw, the frame, the voice, and the fighting chops. He's not a good Bruce Wayne, but this is year 1, where he unpolished and still coping with his traumas through the suit. He'll become the dashing playboy billionaire later on. I love Nolan's Batman but that voice was ridiculous and honestly I didn't like his fighting style

@@captainobvious8949 you clearly don’t know how fair use works. You are only allowed to show so many minutes of the movie footage in one video (let’s just say it’s 10 for the sake of this argument). If she uploads an hour long video, she would still only be able to show the 10 minutes of movie footage and therefore about 10 minutes of reaction. However, if she upload multiple parts, she can effectively double the amount of footage she can show and therefore double the amount of reaction. tl:dr More parts equals less reaction that needs to be cut out for the edited versions.

I absolutely loved this movie. I know we're all required to love the Dark Knight trilogy, but I think I even liked this one better. Chris Nolan's films can sometimes feel a little... clinical? This had so much personality. Omg, and you ended this section with the chase. That is such a great chase scene, and a perfect way to cap off this half.

This is a great Batman Movie. It is a detective/mystery movie with a great interpretation of the Riddler by Paul Dano.

Batman may come across as invasive or creepy sometimes, with the spying on Selina but it's surveillance. Something detectives rely on for Intel. Batman is a detective

This movie also is great because it shows the intelligence of Batman. None of the other Batman flicks focused on his detective skills that much, his quick deduction skills. I really like that

Not only that, it shows him in the early stages of developing that skillset. He's unprepared to do this kind of detective work, but is thrust into it and has to figure it out, and makes mistakes along the way. This movie is definitely a learning experience for Batman. He also learns that neglecting the Bruce Wayne part of his life is counterproductive to making Gotham better.

The "bad guys" that were on the train and went after the passenger weren't running when they saw Batman because Batman was fairly new to the area. They didn't know much of him yet. Bruce says in the beginning that it's been just a bit over two years since he became Batman.

Also, it's Halloween ("what the hell are you supposed to be?!"). So they were sure it was just some nutcase doing trick or treat. But as soon as he took out the leader, they realised it was really him ("Holy shit, it's him")

If you really like the Batman movie you should know there is a penguin TV series coming out this year and then the next year a Jim Gordon GCPD series will come out to set up the sequel the Batman 2.

Man i looooooove that car chase scene. The Batmobil flying through the flames and Pinguins car flipping across the screen without any music. What a shot (30:30). Loved watching that in cinema. And the score... Great movie.

Although it's a minor detail, I LOVED the realism they put behind him being an early Batman with the flying suit. People call it the "flying squirrel" but it's something you actually use to base jump. I hope Matt Reeves does end up doing a trilogy because I'm looking forward to it.

The gripe I had with this movie surprisingly wasn't Pattinson, it was the villain and the costume designs. Whoever did the costume design kind of ruined it for me. They turned Riddler's look into a basic psycho getup which doesnt even remotely speak Riddler to me, and the actor who played him and his script didn't give off Riddler vibes at all. It's like they just ran out of money or something and completely forgot about the villain... Which for a Batman film this is especially fatal as they have to contend with Joker. Riddler could have been very good, comparable to Joker if executed correctly with the right actor playing the role. Catwoman also needed a better costume, her hat thing she wears doesn't really do it for me. And the Penguin just looks like your regular generic fat mob boss that would fit in in basically any other mob movie. At some points in this film I forgot I was even watching a Batman movie. You can take 3/4 of it and place it in another mob movie and you wouldn't be able to tell it's a Batman movie until Batman shows up. Pattinsons performance was okay, nothing spectacular though, but then again I don't find any of the other Batman actors in the past to be spectacular either.

I think it was a deliberate choice to portray riddler this way as it's a commentary on online radicalization and home grown terrorism. Whether it's good or not is definitely up for debate but I like what they went for personally

Riddler has always been a nut case who has tantrums and outbursts when things don’t go his way/he gets outsmarted. This portrayal of riddler is the most accurate to the comics by far. The look is inspired by the zodiac killer and it fit perfectly with the horror theme they had going. Also you need to understand this is not only a somewhat origin story for Batman but also his villians. Selina isn’t even established as catwoman yet, joker in Arkham isn’t even known as joker yet he’s just a unnamed prisoner. Penguin hasn’t even risen to the top yet, he was still just falcones little yes man. It’s the first movie, there’s a thing called development/change that we will obviously see over the course of the trilogy/saga. Also penguin has always been a mob boss🤦‍♂️batman returns has mfs thinking he’s some gross pervert freak who eats raw fish. Also that’s not true. Read long Halloween and you get this same vibe. You couldn’t take 3/4 out of this movie and make it a mob boss movie either. This movie has over 130mins screentime of Batman/Bruce. It’s the most Batman focused movie yet, every scene pretty much involves Batman.

I do see your points and agree with some of it mainly because I already KNEW about it already ie. the fact the characters are still developing/originating, but the rest of it is you just finding things to pick apart my comment and be condescending I guess because you don't like my opinion. I don't give handouts because characters are 'just developing'. By that logic we might as well just have the Joker in the next Batman movie not have any makeup, no suit, nothing at all that resembles Joker at any point in the whole film.. But we'll call him Joker, because he is laughing and playing a villain role. We'll dress him in a hoodie and jeans. How's that sound? Sorry but that doesn't cut it for me. I expect it to look and feel like a real Batman film. I expect compelling iconic villains that are memorable.. I didn't get that, not even a little bit. I was excited for the more noire feel of this film as I prefer that, but the villains (or lack thereof) ruined that for me. This Batman movie gives off a really well done fan film vibe. You can probably recreate the costumes and makeup by shopping at wal mart. The only real memorable things for me was the Batmobile ignition, the car chase, and some of the music which I liked... Oh and Zoe Kravitz looking hot. 👍

I know I'm in the minority... but I really didn't like this one outside of the first 30 minutes, and the performances of Pattinson and Farrell. It was needlessly long, with many scenes of characters just catching each other up on what is going on. It tried to incorporate too many characters in general for the story that it was telling. Paul Dano gave one of the most ridiculously over the top portrayals of a Batman villain (And really, that's saying something. Dude managed to come across as more campy than Jim Carrey did in 95). There were many casting possibilities that were discussed during preproduction that I would have liked to have seen more (Pierce Brosnan was considered for Alfred, which would have been incredible). And I'm just going to say this as well... an R rating would have helped. It seems tonally conflicted as to whether it wants to be an adult, character driven thriller, or a mainstream comic book movie with all the trimmings. Once again, I know I am in the minority and I'm not interested in arguing about it. But I hope that the next one is better. This is literally the only Batman movie I have ever seen where I sat in the theater and checked my watch.

Heavy and slow. That's how I would describe this reiteration of the Batman. Not in a bad way. The Batman is supposed to be imposing. Pattinson had elected not to bulk up as Bale had-who had put on 30 pounds of muscle after having to drop down to 120 for his role in The Machinist, something he did in 6 months time-relying on the suit and his height to give him his looming presence. Pattinson managed to make it work for him; he spoke little. This film is well made, well shot, well written, and well acted. Colin Pharell looks nearly unrecognizable as the Penguin. This film is 3 hours long, but as it was Batman I had to give it a chance. I'm glad I sat through it. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend the deleted scene containing the Joker. A great scene, but I think I know why they left it out.
