While imagining a fight between John Wick and Robert McCall is fun, the real pleasure is imagining them teaming up. Between John Wick's sheer will and McCall's tactical expertise, they'd dominate.

I worked on this film as a PA here in my city Boston, it wasn’t filmed in NYC lol. Our accent is similar and so are certain neighborhoods but unless you’re from one of the two cities, most people struggle to tell the difference. Denzel was a pleasure to work with and truly a humble man and super down to earth. It’s always fun watching back scenes that I was apart of scene by scene. This was a long production and went past the deadline so it was a bit stressful and the budget exceeded but it was well worth it. Loved the reaction fam🤎

The tattoo cliche is not a cliche. Russian tattoos and Japanese tattoos are EARNED, each one of them connected to a deed they did. By showing his body covered in tattoos, they announce how dangerous the character is, along with the various deeds he's done over the years. It's basically a criminal resume.

The end scene where Denzel is replying to help someone on his laptop is a nod to the 1980's tv show. Robert McCall would advertise in a newspaper help for people who had no where to turn, which was the premise for each episode of the show. Also the 1980's tv show had a very good synth theme tune(kzbin.info/www/bejne/opvZlYeeZs-kY7s) , as you where commenting on this movies soundtrack.

In a fight between Robert McCall vs John Wick, who would win? They have the same set of skills, and probably the same age. they're ruthless and quite determined to finish their missions. The equalizer is more stealthy with his kills, he likes to negotiate with the big dogs before taking them down and uses backup when he's in trouble. He barely takes damage. John on the other hand, is basically a one man army. He kills everyone who gets in his way, makes a huge scene, breaks rules, gets injured a lot, doesn't have a lot of backup and when he gets help, he has to give up something important like his finger or freedom. Robert is collected, john is impulsive. Imho, there wouldn't be fight to begin with. Robert would talk to john, try to reason with him and john would explain why he's on a killing rampage, robert would understand and offer his services to help him out.

16:36 honey has anti-bacterial/anti-microbial qualities that make it highly resistant to spoilage. It’s why you can dig up 5,000-year-old honey and it’s still edible. I can’t remember the exact biomechanics behind how honey resists infection, but if I remember correctly the main aspect of such a quality to it is that it sucks out almost all water/moisture from any infectious pathogens that might get into a wound, either killing then or rendering them inert.

Classic TV series becoming films or film franchises and actually being successful is a rarity. The Equalizer was one of them. One man to even up the odds for the innocent. Bringing the pain to the bad guys that deserve it. I loved the tv series from the 1980s. When I heard it was going to be adapted, I lost my mind. Originally it would've been Russell Crowe as McCall, Paul Haggis (Crash) as director and set in New York to match the series itself. Denzel as McCall and Fuqua directing was even more exciting. They didn't try to copy the show, beat for beat (except for the last scene with his own classified ad). The movie was also released in the IMAX format. This became Denzel's highest grossing film ever. Part 2 was even more kick-a**. Part 3 is on the way for 2023. #GutsOverFear👊💥

I think the monologue of Moby Dick is like this: The Old man, in the twilight of his life, thought he didn't have anything left in him for the life he was living. And then came the challenge of the fish, something that made him step back into that feeling of purpose and guidance again. The fish was his greatest challenge up to that point in life and he respected it, and it turned respected himself more by coming to terms that even in his age he still has more to give in life. Why he didn't let it go is most likely because when accepting who and what you are you must commit to it, no half truths in life. Gotta be who you are in life. In this that's Robert, he changed his life for someone and when she was gone he didn't know what else there was for him. Which is what connects him to Alina, someone he wants to help. In helping her and going down the rabbit hole of consequences he finds purpose again. he is capable of very terrible things but in a way he can use those skill to help people like he did Alina.

Wasn't the penthouse scene in this movie with the trust fund guys or wall Street guys doing coke and assaulting that girl in this movie? I really like that scene. Maybe it's in the sequel. Either way Denzel pulled this role off flawlessly. His portrayal reminded me of my Father's demeanor and he was a combat veteran during Vietnam who did things you don't want to repeat out loud. It was in his eyes and how he calculated the time to perform actions. Every second counts.
