It is so important that victims continue to tell their stories, and in that way the crimes actually contribute to people becoming more aware of these criminals. I hope that if you have been scammed, even if you've told your story before, that you keep telling it whenever you can, so others can learn what to look for. Younger people growing up now naively trust strangers online, and they need to know that they can just as easily fall into a scam as anyone else. For parents, it's important to keep an eye on your kid's money spending, and make sure they are not caught up in a love scam or other scam.

I know an experienced Scambaiter with a KZbin channel who was on Match and Facebook and was almost scammed by a woman. He told us he fell for her "flowery" words and then she tried to hack several of his accounts. She also repeatedly asked for money. It boggles my mind that these victims never think to say - "Look, you and I have never even met, you must have friends and co-workers and EMPLOYERS you can borrow money from...why don't you ask them!?" This was a work related injury, so the employer is responsible...what about that? I too was scammed. I was weak, lonely, and desperate for love. Every time I got paid and made plans for that money she would always pop up on my phone asking for giftcards. I'm overdue on my phone bill, had to cancel gym, Trunk Club, and Stitchfix membership all because the that was meant for that I gave to her. It's not just Nigerians and so on, scammers come from all countries and sometimes tell you their real name and address because if you send money it is classed as a gift and the courts in another country won't help you to get anything back. Think very carefully before you send money to people, scammers, strangers or someone you have met face to face xxx
