The lever at 18:18 is for servants bells, they were in most of the rooms at Carbisdale, it's unusual for there to be two of them but it may simply be in the interest of symmetry, or they could also be his and hers. The item at 21:56 could either be a boot scraper or a fire surround (it may be upside down) looks like it may be from the hearth at 22:26

Every time you say "trump" in a video I fall into fits of giggles (I'm American) and it pleases me to no end! That place is like a giant Clue(do) board. Just finished the video. 😅Jump-scared myself silly and my dog left me! I've never seen Bear look so nervous and completely unsure of his surroundings. Not even the time he found that lurker under the bed. Matt I don't know what it is, I'm a total skeptic -- until I watch your videos. I've seen so much staged crap I can tell you how they do most of it, but your videos just absolutely terrify me. Although rare, the freaky things that happen in your videos I cannot explain. Even felt a "presence" when you left the house, before you walked through the woods. It was probably a person but I'm tempted to say it was *at least* a person. Gosh, these are so much fun. The whispering at 41:30 is perhaps the most distinct I've ever heard, I usually have these videos on in the background for noise to listen to, but that whisper so was clear that it actually scared me. Hoping that's just material rubbing together as you're leaving that little room because otherwise that's straight up a woman whispering.

@FindersBeepersHistorySeekers incredible Matt, this is the top 5 best video that had me glued in anticipation, I am glad you made it out safely, but this is so fantastic I had to comment longer. This really is so good 👍🍻I mean truly really good, I loved watching every moment and even jumped scared myself when an ad popped on when you said to listen after Bear laid down on first floor. What really stood out to me : I heard that noise Matt was talking about, I couldn’t make it out, but very interesting. Then at 41:19 with 🎧 on I can hear a female, sorta sounds like,”he’s gonna see...” not sure, but voice was right after Matt mentions “sink on there” and before, “oh, wait a minute”. Then listen very carefully at 41:35 I think I heard a “please...” and some undistinguished chatter for few moments. But what I find very curious is what appears to be a hidden room at 41:08 that someone could be stashed or hiding in? It looked like everything was so clean and tidy in few areas which I found very odd and curious. I kept hearing strange noises upstairs, and I an definitely going to rewatch this many times to listen more intently with better sound-cancelling headphones. I literally was jumping off my bed with so many jump scares, I absolutely love this!!! This was so good and such a fantastic video, I’m saving into my favs playlist so that I can watch several times because this is a top favorite 👍 🎧🍻 oh, and much loves to everyone here too.

Its just an old house with old memories. Statistically you are more likely to meet an honest, ethical politician than a ghost!. I live in an 1890's cottage, you wouldn't believe the amount of creaks and bangs it makes all night. On a windy stormy night like tonight it sounds like furniture being carried up the stairs!. I presume the bed was downstairs because an old person lived there and they couldn't manage the stairs anymore. That's also why the bathroom was downstairs off the kitchen - the room had been repurposed for the old person. It's so sad that they refused to sell up, choosing instead to live in poverty in such a huge property that the couldn't manage anymore. If they'd sold, then they could have made a nice bundle of money to either move into something smaller and more comfortable &manageable, or into a care home. It's sad 😢 This is my first video of yours and I loved it. Bear is absolutely gorgeous! You have such a great relationship. 😍 You're very brave. You've earned yourself a new subscriber 👍

My Grandparents bought a church that had been closed and moved it and its add on to their farm. They put the add on from the church onto the front of their tiny farmhouse to make a space large enough for the whole family (7kids and their spouses and kids). The church side they replaced their tiny little one stall garage with. Left the pretty windows in it, too. More often than not when there was nice weather we all sat in the garage church with the door open! There had been a playground too, with the old metal slide, swings, and a merry go round. They are all placed by the house at the farm for all the grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids!

I applaud you Matt for having the courage to explore on your own. I feel there was someone there too but Bear is a good watch dog and would protect you. It definitely seemed like a creepy place and being in a remote area could be the perfect hiding place for someone. You made the right decision not to stay there. Regarding the barn, it could well of been a private church or chapel to a big house nearby or used to be nearby if it’s been demolished now. I wrote the above before you found the house/hall Christ on a bike that was frightening 🥺 there’s no way on earth I could of done what you did & usually I’m pretty gutsy. The last homeowner must’ve convalesced in that first room for convenience, probably died there too, which is probably that “somebody” you sensed there. lol. There are probably a few given it’s age! The flies worry me though. Something much bigger that a bird has died in there! The sifter is probably to sift flour for baking. Otherwise, that place is amazing! The details scream affluence, just wish you had shown the date over the front door. I’m sure there is some amazing history attached to that place! The hatch in the bathroom was a pass through , to probably the dining room or butlers room, then they made it a bathroom. Thank you for bringing this gem to us but always listen to your gut, it’ll keep you safe!

@29:49 sounds like a child talking (could be squeaky floorboards). But I heard the moans sounds. I was on edge from then on. The way Bear was behaving when you were going back downstairs reminded me of the explore with the person under the bed. Those levers next to the fireplaces would probably be for the chimney, would be my guess. As for the weird set up (a sink in the doorway) it would be my guess someone was fixing the place up, probably late '80's, early '90's and probably ran out of money. There was a recession back then. All in all, another good explore. Bit creepy but good 🦇

Have to watch this later Thing is someone living in the place or more likely ghosts haunting it.I remember being out near Geronimo ,Tx and Friedens church.I was picking wild flowers and my dad was waiting in the car.Anyhow, There was this abandoned house I could see behind were I was picking flowers.I was right by the road.Anyhow, Got the weird feeling that if I looked in the house window if I got real close would see a monster.Weird huh.Anyhow was quick about it and got in the car That was years ago.Only time I ever had that feeling.

The fake doors in the bedrooms were probably originally designed because the smaller room would have been a wash room or dressing room. You could go from bedroom to dressing room without having to go via the hall. The pullies on the ceiling would have been a bell to call for a servant. The ones on the fire were probably to call for a specific servant who looked after the fires. Maybe one was a servant bell, the other on the opposite side of the fire would have opened/closed the flue. All those small rooms in the top floor were probably servants quarters. The other stairs that are blocked off in the kitchen area, was also probably for the servants, so they didn't have to use the main stairs. Interesting place.

That noise you kept hearing. I have heard that twice before whilst exploring. Once in the woods at night at st Joseph's orphanage. And once again on the grounds of a Statley home, near trees at night! Iv never been able to pinpoint what it is but it's a weird one because it doesn't actually sound human, but it does sound like something sleeping. And what's more interesting it that when you hear it. It instantly creeps you out because you know it's not normal.

When you were going down the stairs, bear stopped and kept looking through the railing at the floor below, that was so scary. I absolutely love to explore old abandoned houses. But now that we're getting older, no one wants to do it anymore. And I don't know how you go in by yourself. But I can't. I like to be scared, but I don't want to do it alone. I know you don't like to mess up your hair, 😢 but you should wear a headlamp. I think if I were you I'd have one with four lights, one pointed in every direction. Front, left, right and one on the back of my head. In case anyone is behind me.

I'm sure someone answered your question ages ago but to comment on the video I'll add for the two handles on the fireplaces: One lever opens and closes the damper, allowing the smoke to come up through the flue of the chimney, while a second lever opens and closes the air vents, allowing fresh combustion air to enter and fuel the fire. This prevents smoke from going back inside the room while avoiding carbon dioxide poisoning

That place was extremely odd. Those upstairs rooms, had the feeling of being cells, not bedrooms. Could be why you were so freaked out, Matt. You seem to be highly intuitive, and you are very adept at 'reading the rooms'. And those noises that you heard could have been residual energy, on repeat, from the trauma that was experienced there. Maybe Bear sensed the energy too?! 😊

Absolutely awesome video!! Beautiful building. I was on edge with you When Bear could hear something, that was dodgy. But then when he started barking! OMG! Very cool and interesting place. Now I'm wondering if there were probably more buildings there on that estate. I do think you missed the servants' quarters though. That would have been the stairs right up the kitchen side. Maybe there was someone up in there. I was hoping you would have found the bell\call box. Probably has been taken though.... sometimes they have some interesting markings or names for the various rooms.
