Dear Dr. Boz...I really enjoyed your presentation...I am a retired professor now 75 years old, and did research on protein structure, so I readily understand the science in your presentation. I had diabetes type II for many years (with blood glucose above 200) until I started watching your videos ( and also other videos on keto and intermittent fasting) several years ago. I started to implement this diet regime and within a month my blood glucose was much better. I used to take several pills a day to control diabetes, and recently I was able to have my blood sugar around 90 mg/dl with just one pill to control diabetes. Unfortunately I had several gall stones and had to have my gallbladder removed, so now my blood sugar is around 110. Thanks for your videos. By the way you look like you are 25 years old now, and look younger than when I started watching your videos several years ago. Congratulations!

Thanks, Dr. Boz for being a real scientist. Growing up, i thought all medical doctors were real scientists. Now i believe that much of medical diagnosis and treatment is based on dogma, and MDs don't often use logic or the scientific method to check themselves or update their knowledge. We live in French Alps ( au pays du Beaufort) and in summer our grass fed cows make more C 15 because they go higher in the mountains ( it seems that higher the gras = higher the C15 in the milk). The 1st thing that i am reminded of is when it comes to this c15 discussion is how everyone has been brainwashed over the years into thinking that saturated fat is bad for us and that LDL is the "bad" cholesterol. My own doctor believes that. C-15 seems way too expensive. I'm too stingy to pay over $100 for a "miracle" pill....😆 🤣 😂 While the pills may be beneficial , eliminating all the other "bad" things in our diet, such as seed oils, processed carbs, high fructose corn syrup, alcoholic beverages, might be even more impactful. It costs nothing extra to eliminate those bad things. Then add in fasting and exercise, too; you are really making an improvement!

I’m absolutely not qualified to answer your question ! Personally I have moved towards using more butter to fry food in the hope of boosting c15 nutrition but I have no idea if it’s effective! My current rather sketchy understanding is that some hard sheep cheeses especially pecorino are the best options for obtaining c15 fatty acid. However I like the idea of frying salmon in butter as you’re also getting a valuable source of omega 3. ( I fry salmon in butter too. Also trout is good cooked that way) Full cream milk is okay but as it contains a lot of sugar could be bad for blood sugar. Full fat yoghurt and cream are handy for c15. But as I say I’m not qualified and I’m still trying to work this stuff out.

So I was immediately suspicious and decided to a wait a while until there is more experience with it. Thank you for your analysis and presentation, it was very helpful. Just like our creator designed us: What you eat is so important. Remember, your body is a chemical processing plant with 1200 to 1300 chemical reactions that take what you eat, turn it into energy to move you around and enable you to think, repairs and builds body tissue, and then the chemical processing facility takes care of the garbage/waste. I strongly submit that the least amount of waste and the maximum amount of nutrition is paramount to efficient operation of the flesh.. So that said, when it comes to plants, as close to original as possible. When it comes to meat, animals fed with the most natural diet possible and the cleanest from a chemical agricultural standpoint. Excessively processed foods and the so-called GRAS additives poison our bodies. Seed oils a.k.a. vegetable oils are the death sentence.

I tried the high fat dairy route and boy what a mistake. High cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure. Took a year to reverse with a plant based diet. Now I just take 1 fatty15 per day. I think it's worth looking into the microbiome for fatty acid production. There are a few papers that mention their production. Akkermansia muciniphila is worth noting here because it's said to play a pretty big role in maintaining the integrity of the intestinal lining as well as helping friendly gut bacteria thrive. Edit: Also should mention that prebiotics can be used to feed the friendly bacteria in your guts, so probiotics isn't necessarily the way to go. (DYOR)

Dr Robert Lustig stated that diary fat are anti inflammatory while saturated fat from meat is neither inflammatory or antiinflammatory
@ruger6049Ай бұрын
Well, my family is proof that dairy IS inflammatory. We all went on a big dairy reduction or abstinence. In less than 90 days, daughter and brothers had no shoulder pain. My osteoarthritis pain was almost entirely gone. Huge reduction in dark/red meats has furthered the reduction of inflammation that I've had for 20 years.

I DO eat more of it than ever before, (even tried air frying it so I could consume it) but it's a struggle. Any suggestions? Many thx for all that you do here!! 👌🙏🥰

I have been taking Fatty 15 for a couple of years. Since I am Vegan, I don't eat a ketogenic diet. So although my diet is high fat, I don't get the fat in Fatty 15. I am not sure if supplementing with it has made a difference but I am thinking that the optimal dose might be more than 100 mg, perhaps 200 mg or 300 mg. I am also thinking of flooding my system once a week, maybe with 1 gram or more. The lack of research in humans includes inadequate information about how to take it. My primary interest, as will all fatty acids, is in improving brain health, although I have no reason to thing that Fatty 15 has specific benefits for the brain, I would not be surprised if it did. (I am 74 and at risk for dementia.)

One tablespoon of unsalted butter has about 250mg of C15:0... there is no need for a pill, just eat butter!

@e.vincke1262 ай бұрын
where did you find this information ? I was told you had too take 3 tablespoons of ghee ...
@prunelle192 ай бұрын
@@e.vincke126 The study said that C15:0 is present in 1% to 3% of dairy fat. Unsalted butter is 82% dairy fat, so I calculated that 1 tablespoon of butter is 11.5825gram of dairy fat, therefore 1% to 3% of C15:0 will result in 116mg to 347mg.... I chose about 250mg, in the middle of these values.
@prunelle192 ай бұрын
I'm adding that their (very expensive !) supplement provide 100mg of C15:0, so even the minimum value of 116mg is better
