Nothing, except for being surrounded by images of him being a hero, and the fans who bought the lie. Every energy drink can, statue, howling fan, and cardboard cutout mocking him, showing him what he isn't, and Noir? That was the only punching bag A-Train had in sight, a big black mirror reminding A-Train of exactly who he was.

The current Noir is a supe actor. I don't see why they'd replace him with Sam in combat tho. He has typical supe strength which means he can still function as Noir. It makes more sense to simply add Sam to the team as a fighter instead of replacing one for the other.

Technically it still could be Sam, the new black noir has been shown talking multiple times and every time it leads to ppl telling him noir doesn’t talk and him getting backlash for talking or questioning how noir would act in that situation plus he’s always apparently narcoleptic. I could see homelander finally getting mad and killing him since he’s an actor and might not even have powers at all. I could see homelander looking at him as inferior to supes and killing him or killing him for talking to much and then Sam talking his place
