I use this mouse for creating graphics and illustrations at work and it's absolutely phenomenal. I've never encountered a mouse that felt so natural to use. But there's only one reason I bought this mouse for and that's to ensure I never get double clicks again. This is the only mouse on the market with optical switches that never suffer from d-clicks and have a 4x greater lifespan compared to traditional micro switches. My 13 year old Razer Lachesis is still going strong but this is whole different ball game. If you're serious about productive or getting an edge in your games, get this mouse. Lighter isn't necessarily better, if the object has no presence or mass, then aiming accurately becomes hard, because of a lack of feedback in weight. Lighter weight means faster movement speed of the mouse, but it also means over-aiming, that stopping the movement in time for good shots is also harder. I actually prefer heavier mice, the basilisk ultimate ironically isn't heavy enough for me, lol. :P When it comes to gaming, lighter isn't necessarily better, neither is heavier, the weight needs to be at the precise sweet-spot for optimal performance... Natually the sweet spot may vary from person to person, it is in no way universal. : /

Heavier mice are severely underrated. The mouse i performed best on, was a super heavy mouse, with a metal base (so it's lowest weight was quite high), multi-adjustable scrap metal looking thing, with weight rings (to increase or decrease the weight of the mouse based on how many weight rings you put on the mouse). I was damn near invincible on TF2 back then. Though of course, the mouse i was using was terrible, but that was for different reasons than weights, the gliding plastics undernear were paper thin and peeled off after a week of use, but i found a way to keep making use of it for a year after that anyway, lol. I wish i could have the same mouse and model, but with improved gliding plastics and a design more optimized for long-term use. Atm i'm using the basilisk ultimate, and it's basically the next best thing... Not as heavy as i would want it to be, would be nice with some weights, so i could choose to make it heavier, but in every other aspect, it's a fucking great mouse. :)

How long did you use before you put out the review? The detachable button on the side always falls off and the macro software is weak compared to the 502. I had to switch back the 502 cause of this
@iamthemusicman136 ай бұрын
I know this is old but the side button never falls off. I dunno maybe you got a bad one. I actually changed it to the longer button that can be switched for the default. Never have had any issues in years and still in perfect condition. Sorry to hear the issue

So i have bigger hands because im tall and this mouse feels SOOOO GOOD, I’ve been very impressed with it so far. 2 things though: 1. What is the USB port for on the docking station? 2. I like using the sniper button for crouch, however recently I’ve noticed it not working in game, and also I have to have razed synapse open to maintain that keybind. I keybind it to C on my keyboard (for crouch) since the in game didn’t recognize the button.

@@epichunter115 are you blind? Basilisk ultimate is a wireless mouse g502 is a wired mouse g502 lightspeed is $140+ which is the wireless version of the g502 you can get the basilisk v2 which is wired and it's like $80. Take in the fact that the g502 has been out for almost 6 years You're basically comparing a wireless mouse's price to a wired mouse's price

For anyone interested in the basilisk and you don't have the money for it. Get the basilisk hyperspeed x. It's the same mouse but with a battery (and minus other things you won't notice). Edit: no white feet (they are standard), older sensor (which you won't notice), older m1 and m2 (which you won't notice) and no sniper button.

Missing the G7 and G8 buttons from the 502 would kill it for me, honestly. I guess you could program them in using hypershift but then you lose the paddle as an actual button as well.

I use the g602 and I want to upgrade (and get fewer side buttons; actually a little too awkward to reliably use more than 2 anyway). What can you recommend without breaking the bank? The Viper ultimate seems like it's bit insane for price. Also, can the mouse fit other cables? Not being abler yo use anything but the included cable due to the shape of the slot in the mouse turned me off of the Corsair Harpoon. For the recommendation also.

the G604 sells for 50-70$ often on sale. Granted it EATS AA batteries with the HERO sensor so youll have to change the deafault profile to 125hz polling if you want better battery life or you have to switch it to BT mode and remember to swap to 1000hz for gaming. I set mine to 125hz default and have it swap to 1000hz on the G-HUB/per game/gamer profile switching. Though the feet dont last very long on a hard pad. For 50$ its a pretty solid daily driver.

Thế Anh Nguyễn Ok first of all that logic doesn’t apply for Razer products anymore. Over the last year they have massive stepped up the quality of their products and the durability. Razer still has the stigma of having crappy “gamery” products. Second of all you can’t just hate on a company for previously having lower quality products. Sure you can like the G502 better that’s your opinion but don’t just actively tell others that their competition is crap.
@NamelessToast5 жыл бұрын
naise haaton I just use wired mice. I’m not a super competitive gamer or anything. I just like the responsiveness of the high end “gamer” products. I rock the Deathadder Elite but just recently ordered the Deathadder v2. I just use a mouse bungee and I’m fine.

In my opinion, lightweight vs heavy really depends on the game. In games with heavy tracking, a heavy mouse is better, but in a game where you need constant quick flicks a light is better.
@TerminalM1933 жыл бұрын
Mouse weight is so placebo when you take into account the amount of customization you can have with in game sense vs dpi paired with now functional swing graphs. Once you get any comfortable mouse dialed into comfortable settings you'll find it feels exactly the same as far as sensitivity goes. You can make a heavy mouse feel light or a light mouse feel heavy. That's why I've always loved larger, well built mice. I swear people just go off of in game sensitivity settings only and never mess with any of the other features.

Does the scroll wheel on the Basilisk have incremental snap or click forward and back like the 502 when you scroll? What I mean is the scroll wheel sort've lightly snaps it has ridges is not completely smooth on the G502 and it's good for gaming in my opinion and I'm wondering if the Basilisk has a similar scroll wheel?
