I WASTED $740 ON A CURLING IRON - DYSON AIR WRAP REVIEW

Heyyyyyy so... just wanted to clear up a few things about this tool that im seeing pop up in the comments.. I did use the tool how they directed by blasting it with the cool shot once i was done, but i failed to mention that in the video because as a hairdresser, cool shot is just something that comes naturally to me and i guess i just forgot to talk about it. I apologize for not mentioning that.. HOWEVER, this tool just didnt work for ME, and my hair length, texture, density, thickness etc. I could have taken even smaller sections but that probably would have doubled my styling time to 4 hours and im not about to spend HOURS doing my hair... no thanks. My opinion is not the end all be all of everything.. its just a little insight for anyone who has hair like I do, that was considering spending their hard earned money on this. Do your research on whats best for YOU.

There are few reviews on this product that actually do it justice. Sis, you have rapunzel hair, even a regular curling iron wont hold all your hair and your hair wont hold a curl unless you use product. Then of course everyone has their confirmation bias in the comments because no one wants to spend $500 on a dryer so they're like "ha I knew it didnt work". I've had the airwrap for a year now and it is my favorite heat tool. Pretty much replaced them all. It does minimal damage to your hair unlike irons or curling wands. I tried the Revlon one but it burnt the hell out of my hair. Personally I think the Dyson is worth every penny.

I use my Dyson for almost a year now every day and I've come to the point I know how to use it on my hair. By trying and failing, I've had the time to understand the dryer and how I need to use it to style my hair how it should be. First of all, your hair has dried too much already! It's important that you give it a quick blow trough for like 2 minutes, the curls will hold better when your hair is more wet. And the second, because your hair is pretty long you should try to wrap the end of the hair section around first and hold for 5 sec and then move on to the top and do the same. Because of the weight of your hair, it'll drop instantly.. It's really a different process for everyone and this is just what works for me :) I hope it's not all a waste of money because it really is an awesome tool xxx

If you don't want to watch a 5 min instructional video that's linked in the box, I agree don't buy it. It is new tech. But I didn't find that to be 'effort'. I honestly put more effort into buying a carton of eggs! This wasn't hard and I use it on my long layered hair and get better-than-salon results, as I wanted for that much money. I think it's intuitive and easy to use. It's definitely expensive but also very versatile and I haven't got a friend it doesn't work on - everyone's tried it with different lengths or textures. I can't think of any product like it that can do that many different styles so quickly with low/medium heat. I'm surprised people are deciding off a single video. It really seems polarizing for some reson

Even if you buy a $40 to $50 dollar iron curler add the two different sizes, brushes, the mini version of a blow dryer and carrying case. You will end up spending around the same amount of money. Also this doesn’t apply direct heat on your hair , that makes it break and damage. It’s sold out right now.

Sweetie, your hair has to be damp. It looked really dry when you were using the air wrap. Has to be at least 70% dry. Put in some product like moose or hair gel, section your hair properly first then do smaller sections since you have such long and thick hair. Btw your hair is gorgeous. Just too heavy to keep curls for very long. What i like about the air wrap is its not too damaging to the hair and with practice it can be done right. i agree with you about one thing though; they need longer barrels. Hope you give it another shot love.

Quick tip: with long hair hold it in place and the curls come out beautifully. Also you need a lot of practice with it and also use hair spray to keep the curls in.

Hi Farah, so I've seen a lot of such reviews about the air wrap. I bought this and tried it. And I have to say, I loved it. It took me 30 minutes on my medium length curly hair to dry and curl the whole thing. I have naturally curly hair that is fine. I got a lot of volume in the roots and was able to smooth out the roots by patting down the baby hair and roots while on the air wrap barrel. It made me realize that this tool wont work for people with long straight hair. But it does work for my medium length curly hair.

I have questions regarding this video : from what I read on the Dyson website, there are barrels designed to be specifically used on long hair (she's using the regular size barrels which clearly aren't suitable for her type of hair) and it is said that the Dyson Airwrap shall be used on damped hair (her hair is dry). Also it seems like you have to wait few seconds using 2 different settings whilst holding your hair curled up to the device but it doesn't seem that she's following any of the procedures in order to use the Airwrap as advised by the manufacturer...

My wife wanted this for Christmas. She is like you, she saw the ad and has wanted it since. Thank you for saving us a ton of money. I checked out several vids to see what this was about, since I know nothing about hair styling. You give an honest assessment for the average person. Some of the professionals on here who have been using this for months can make it look easy and effective. But most people will have the issues you have. Guys I’m just saying this on my opinion. For Christmas this year I got a dyson airwrap complete. I was looking into it for months and really liked the look of it. I have been using the airwrap for 4 days now and it’s absolutely amazing. It gives volumus curls in seconds. As I want to be a hairdresser, I took it to my hair manacins hair (it’s real hair, not fake hair). I tested it on really long hair and omg, the results were stunning. I also tried it on short hair. The short hair was much harder to get around the curling head but when I was done, the hair was so volumus, had so much body and was really pretty. Thanks for reading if you got down to here :). It’s common sense that it’s not for long hair. You can tell already by the length of the barrel that it won’t really work for super long hair. And also because this is air it will be even more difficult for long hair. If you have long hair only get long barrels. That’s the only thing that works for my hair. Dyson should make a long one.

Start from root to ends. Dont try to fit all your hair on it. Your hair is too long. But it can be dont. Just start from roots and slide down and it wont tangle up. I've used this before and it's actually pretty easy to use.

Great review. People forget that length does make a difference. I wanted this product but realized my hair is too long for it. I simply wont have the same result as people with shorter hair Edit: the comments under this video are so annoying. This is her experience with the product. I've got 22inch extentions and have one of these and it works great. I put moose in before hand and the most important part it to blast the hair cold for like 10 seconds. . She's not using it correctly

I thought the same thing as well. My hair didn’t stick properly the first time, but when I sectioned it out better and it curled perfectly. You should try in smaller chunks when you do it.
