I Watched Disney's DESCENDANTS For The FIRST TIME To See If It's Still Good In 2024!!

So the lore behind this is that King Beast had literally any deceased villains REVIVED just to put them on this terrible island. Yup, anyone that canonically died in their film still canonically died in this universe. He brought them back to life to torture them. All they have to eat on the island is trash. Literally trash. Auradon uses the Isle as a landfill. That is ALL the resources they get. So that's the reason they don't have fruit. (Nothing grows on the island, so even if they had seeds, they'd be useless - plus it's likely nobody has experience with farming anyway.) Also, the books feature Disney animals as well. Obviously they didn't have the budget to showcase them in these films, but canonically they have translator collars so they can speak to humans. Not a spoiler since it never comes up in the films. Just some fun lore.

If you think about it, Beast and Belle got together when he was 21 (according to the original film). Now, they have a 16 year old son. Assuming they waited a full decade to even have a child (we don't know at what age they had their son, I'm just being generous), King Beast still would not even be 50. And he's retiring to hand over the kingdom to his son, who is still attending high school. He's a real piece of work. And then he gets mad when his son, who is actually still a child, starts messing things up (in his opinion). Like, I don't know what he expected of a child king.

While it sort of seems part of the happily ever after narrative to have a kid practically right after marriage, it feels ridiculous to think of them as being only in their late 30s in Descendants, even if neither really looks too old. (Beast is 21 at the end of the original film; if he had a kid off the bat he'd only be 37-38, and Belle is seemingly a few years younger.) Either way, not a chance this dude is 50 yet. (There are also other factors having to do with fertility that would encourage them to get pregnant prior or close to 30, so it seems pretty logical that a decade would be the max time they'd wait.)

So in the books and other supplemental content, the Descendants universe is meant to encompass EVERYONE. Every Disney prince/princess and all their villains. Not everyone makes it into the films, but there are some really cool characters we get to meet.

Maybe he said nephew instead of son but I definitely remember someone saying something like "is there something wrong with my son?" (I haven't read the books recently so correct me if I'm wrong)

I would love to see him do OUAT. I’ve watched all the seasons plus the spin-off. But honestly I think if he were to do a reaction to the show, he would just have to do seasons 1-3. The others I don’t think are necessary. I personally like them except season 7 and the spin-off. But I don’t think you HAVE to watch them if you don’t want to. And honestly to me season 3 is the best, so that’s why I say stop there.

Biggest plot hole in this movie is how that girls hair isnt even bad. Like cmon if youre gonna make a character whos supposed to be ugly, maybe exaggerate her a little? The costumes are already exaggerated, maybe give her actually messy hair or weird costuming. As is she looks like a normal pretty girl, but everyone in the movie acts like she looks awful. This can no joke be pretty damn harmful for the target audience (young girls) to see this objectively pretty actor be treated like she looks like shit
