What made the pegasus magic actually good was the dynamic between the barbie and the ken characters. They were sassy to each other and didn't take no shit. In which...no big deal, Barbie is a rockstar in a famous band. As their last tour date they decide to perform in space to promote world peace...somehow. But then on their way back their space shuttle enters a time warp and they are transported back to the 1950s. She even conquered sci-fi. Incredible.

The reason in Princess and the popstar is 500 years is that it’s connected to diamond castle. A monarchy starts when the gardenia diamond flowers are created, then in Princess charm school it’s “gardenia’s magical crown” and they have magic items from the other movies in the security area thingie, then in Princess and the popstar the flowers are in the secret room. I have a theory that might actually tie everything together. If we are taking Ted's timeline and applying it to the live action movie, consider that Barbie first makes contact with the real world in that movie. She seems to be one of, if not, the very first Barbie to walk among the humans. Now, at the very end of the movie, she decides to stay in the real world permanently. Putting this at the beginning of Ted's timeline, this implies that the Barbie hivemind may have begun with her when it was introduced to the real world.

Also considering that in “Barbie” every Barbie is a doll (can’t eat/drink, don’t shower with water, etc) then that means that Life In The Dreamhouse (every character IS a doll) is “Barbieland”. Or, at least, a past version of it. OR a future version of it in which there’s a new “Barbie” (stereotypical) and everyone else develops into gaining their own names and growing settlements/civilizations. Or something. Anyway, Life In the Dreamhouse is pre-Ted’s timeline. BBCU: Before Barbie Cinematic Universe.

I once owned a Kelly. One day I was playing with her on the headboard of my parent’s bed when suddenly she fell. I searched for hours, nay days, for Kelly. I convinced my parents to move their furniture around in search of Kelly that night and went to bed in utter disappointment at the loss. We moved out of that house in 2004 and I asked to look once more as we packed up their room and removed their furniture. Kelly was no where to be found. As an adult I theorize that she fell into a blackhole. Now I wonder, could this blackhole have been a result of Mattel wanting to reclaim their failed creation in an attempt to wipe their mistake from the face of the planet… but they mistakenly forgot to erase her from their first phase of films. imma just say that everyone points out how annalise is rich and erika is poor so it's ridiculous for them to say they're just the same...but actually the movie is teaching a really important lesson about not invalidating peoples' struggles, because erika knows that her life is much worse than annalise's but she doesn't say shit about annalise being ungrateful she just says that that's difficult and she understands because she also feels stuck by her situation...a real life example of this is my best friend has medical problems, and so do i but mine are less severe than hers, but if i ever try and say shit about how mine don't matter because hers are really bad, she tells me that my problems are just as valid....there's a lot of good messages in the movie, another is that dominick could have easily paid off erika's debt, but instead, annalise is the one who took care of it by creating her own industry mining geodes...and it also encourages girls to go after whatever they want, whether it be STEM or the arts....i could go on for a long time about this movie because it is one of my hyper fixations, and my appreciation for it has only grown as i am an adult

this video made me realize, why is it like a common thing for child’s fairytales to be about like medieval court intrigue? like why is it a common trope for childrens stories to be about ppl straight up trying to poison and kill a person for a throne?
@audreyt72666 ай бұрын
Fairy tales generally come from the Grimm Brothers. Who, iirc, are Germans from the early 1800s. I think that's why. Also girls generally love princesses and princesses have courts
@kittykatjagirl6 ай бұрын
Because drama was more life threatening. I mean, not too medieval, but Alexander Hamilton did die in a duel bc of a literal dispute. If you go farther back than that, I’m sure throwing your life away for the sake of loyalty and legacy was very common back then. Add emotion and adventure to the pot and you got a beefy soup of drama. …I’ve also been very bias to the concept for as long as I can remember, but that’s just me. :)

The live action Barbie movie actually does fit with the decentralized hivemind theory. "Barbieland" is a Barbie hive. It's a place designed specifically for Barbies to live in. The Kens are a second class hivemind meant to serve the Barbie hivemind. The plot of the movie is about a singular drone escaping from the hivemind and returning to liberate her sisters from the oppressive rule of the hive. Meanwhile the lesser Ken hivemind tries to break free of the Barbies' control and establish themselves as the dominant hive.

It even shows mermaid barbie and astronaut barbie ( which could tie into the star adventure ), and it shows that Barbie Land, is the hive mind. That’s where it all happens. The purpose of Barbie was to show girls that they can achieve anything they aspire to in a world where men may be self-centered. Women can become doctors, actors, gymnasts, spies, or princesses. Barbie aimed to inspire young girls to expand their minds and believe in themselves. Additionally, Kelly was discontinued in 2010 and took on the name in 2011, along with other family members. Krissy, Barbie's youngest infant sister, was discontinued in 2003. The twins Tutti (1965 - 1971) and Todd (1965 - 1990) were also part of the family. Ken had a younger brother named Tommy Carson. To summarize, the Roberts' children are, in order: Barbie, Skipper, Tutti, Todd, Stacie, Kelly/Chelsea, and the infant Krissy.

@@coffeenairJust a heads up that Ted started filming this video (March 5th '23) about a month before Liam's video came out (June 22th '23), so they probably did this around the same time. :)

I love how Kelly is even referenced in Life in the Dreamhouse by Raquelle when she tries to guess Chelsea’s name.
@farrahelise76 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking about that lol Maybe she just changed her name or something... Then again, the hive mind theory is much more interesting lol
@LycanMOON6 ай бұрын
The real answer is Kelly just disappeared one day and Barbie gaslit her friends into thinking Chelsea was her youngest sister's name this whole time

Mariposa is my FAVORITE barbie movie and I’m so happy to see it got a pretty good review! 😭😭

It’s funny because In the TV show, when Raquelle knocks on Barbie’s door and Chelsea answers, raquelle asks “Kelly, right?” And Chelsea immediately corrects her. 😂

Raquelle definitely knows about the killing of Kelly and keeps forgetting that Chelsea is Kelly’s replacement

She also said "Shelly" which is another old/original name of "Chelsea" 💀

Kelly was replaced with Chelsea due to a trademark issue in the UK, I think. So yeah, they're just gonna pretend she was always Chelsea.

What was the cause of the trademark issue?

Every time I learn a Barbie facti remember a tidbit from life in the dreamhouse where it's mentioned 😭 Raquel calling Chelsea Kelly in one of the episodes, that totally flew over my head.

Magic of Pegasus is my favorite by FAR! I was so obsessed with it as a kid I forced my parents to call me Annika for like a year. I literally would only respond if they called me that. The characters are so funny and sassy, the bloopers in the end are so iconic. GOATED idc.
