Ive only had one experience with weed (two if you count the edibles i tried on a separate occasion that had literally no effect but I don't) and i was already drunk. It was a weed pen and i took an insanely long hit on accident. I kept breathing in and was waiting for it to start to burn before i stopped inhaling but i never did. Exhaling however, I've never properly choked on something solid before but i could not get air in after that. Plus, oh boy did i feel the burn on its way out. That is the second worst intoxicated night ive ever had. I was afraid I'd throw up because being crossfaded on top of burning my throat made me very nauseous. That nausea only got worse once the weed actually set in. For me being drunk feels very... Side to side? Like not necessarily literal swaying but that's just... The feel. Weed however... Is a back and forth feeling. So I'm left laying down on my bed, staring at the ceiling, keeping my eyes open as much as possible because the moment they close the dizziness and nausea really set in. Even blinking sucked. So i was stuck between being tired and wanting to sleep it off and being unable to close my eyes without feeling like i was being spun. I also have horrific emetophobia and the easiest way to make me panic is nausea, so i was suffering. I don't like how being high *moves*, and i can't imagine taking that much at once after how low of a dose he was used to. I can't imagine how i would have faired, but i doubt i would have faired well. I hate that the people around him weren't trying to make it better, or at least not make it worse. I feel so bad for him, even if this was years ago now.

also re: the DOOM movie: The thing that bothers me most about the DOOM movie is simply that it has NONE of the kinetic FORCE that the games (aside from 3 for the most part) have. There's this convoluted plot, all these named side characters with all this dialogue, and intrigue, and the action kicks in super late into the film. For a movie based on a series of fast-paced, brutal, and narratively light games about murdering shitloads of demons while a dude grins on the bottom of your screen, the movie just has NONE of that same energy. Sure it can reference a pinky demon sorta. It can vaguely gesture that "this gun is the BFG" and then not even commit to the Big Fucking Gun thing that was always a bit camp in the games. DOOM wanted to adapt the game, but it never bothered to actually experience the game, and it really shows. The only redeemable scene (the first person sequence) is hamstrung by being very clumsy and sluggish and by not using the space very well. It should have been a run-and-gun type thing. Lots of forward momentum as Reaper cuts and shoots his way through hordes of demons. Instead it's like an awkward series of visual gags followed by a nauseating sequence with a pinky demon that just really sucks. I could forgive a DOOM movie that decides to milk its lightweight plot for content. I could even forgive a DOOM movie making the slayer a character with dialogue and history. What I can't forgive is a DOOM movie being mostly slow and boring and largely nonviolent.
