Here's something to look out for: The "Wrong" movies were all made by David DeCoteau, so almost all of them were shot IN HIS HOUSE. Keep an eye out for the same furniture popping up in every movie.

I have been fascinated by David DeCoteau ever since Rifftrax featured A Talking Cat!?! and Santa's Summer House. He directed a couple of absolutely bonkers no budget kids films, most of them filmed in the same rented mansion. If that Vivica A Fox vid happens, I really hope it includes an aside about him.

As a former cheerleader, 5 years in youth cheer, 4 years competitive cheer (or as degrassi called it “power cheer” which is not what it’s actually called), 1 year of high school cheer, and 1 year of college cheer, I can tell you for a fact that after watching all of these movies, you still don’t know anything about cheer because not one thing is accurate. But also, I devour these movies so even as a former cheerleader, I don’t care enough to be offended.
@ali.bibbles

i love pointing out the cheer inaccuracies too lmaoo. for one, the teams rarely ever have a coach/assistant coach JUST a cheer captain. the cheerleaders have some of the sloppiest high Vs i've ever seen, and people can join the team anytime they want, anytime of the year.

Lifetime original movies actually used to have a certain amount of prestige back in the heyday of the TV movie event (so, mid-'80s through late-'90s). They did a lot of "ripped from the headlines" movies, and "Death of a Cheerleader" was one of their biggest successes. I think that is why they're still obsessed with cheerleader movies (and real-life cheerleader scandals) 30 years later.

I actually learned more about the bernardette protti case. So the true story takes place in the city of Orinda California, which is two cities away from where I live. The city of orinda itself puts a substantial amount of pressure on its students to be perfect and bernardette had an inferiority complex. She hated being constantly compared to Kirsten Costas who she saw as "perfect" and she couldnt stand it that costas would treat her badly. She wanted to win her back by taking her to a party but costas freaked out and threatened to tell the student body of Miramonte High school to ostracize Protti. That was the triggering moment where protti stabbed costas. Protti's sister had left a knife in the car so that's how costas was stabbed

I never really subscribe to channels, but when you said the outtro I legitimately cackled and hit that button. Really enjoying your content, and honestly you seem like the type of person that I would love to watch shitty movies / shows with. Keep being wonderful. 10/10 will watch again.

The person that the guy from The Wrong Cheerleader Coach looks like to me is Patrick Swayze? The hair in particular is the same type of fluffiness.

They aren't Lifetime movies (which I just realized), but you should check out Willing to Kill (1992) and ThePositively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom (1993). These are both about the same true incident of a Texas woman named Wanda Holloway wanting to put a hit on a rival cheerleader her daughter was up against. The first is from ABC and is a straight Drama/Thriller and the other is a satire from HBO. I loved these both as kids and watched them with my mom a lot, and didn't realize they weren't Lifetime movies until I Googled them today to make sure I got the correct info. I was super confused as to how these weren't on your list. Now I know! lol.

Also, it's a Tubi Original and not a Lifetime movie, but I definitely recommend 'Deadly Cheer Mom' on Tubi. It was directed by Doug Campbell, who makes incredible Lifetime movies, including other cheer thrillers.

This is the relatable content I didnt know I needed. I'm an expert on the evil step-daughter/kid who was given up for adoption subgenre of Lifetime movies. I also love spotting recognizable actors in Lifetime movies. Sydney Sweeney was in a 'The Wrong' movie.
