He is one of the heads of the terrorist organization Talon and one of the former founders of Overwatch. 27:14 Widowmaker: the perfect assassin: a patient, ruthlessly efficient killer who shows neither emotion nor remorse. also a member of the terrorist organization Talon. has a tragic backstory that is worth looking at. 40:47 HE IS A CYBORG-Hanzo made him that way. Genji and his brother Hanzo were sons and heirs to the Shimada Ninja Clan, one of the most deadliest criminal empires in the world and in japan. Hanzo was commanded by the elders of the clan to demand Genji to take a more active role in their late father's empire. Genji refused as he had little interest in the family's illegal businesses. This enraged Hanzo and the tension between the brothers built to a violent confrontation that left Genji on the verge of death. It's so cool watching someone with no knowledge diving in head first and seeing him be so affected by something I love. I fell in love with Overwatch all over again, and I never fell put of love in the first place. Tracer had my attention from her very first line. "Whatcha looking at?" Danger? Grave stakes? It's just a good time saving the world to Tracer. But what sealed her as my favorite was the last line of that first video. "You know, the world could always use more heroes." Taking a moment to recognize the kid's courage, and encourage him to be even more. A ball of positivity and encouragement. She's just the best. Though my favorite video of the ones you watched by the end of this one was definitely Dragons. "I have accepted what I am, and I have forgiven you. Now you need to forgive yourself." There is so much unspoken in that video that you miss if you dont know thebackstory, but the way Genji cuts to the heart of the matter... reaching out to the brother who tried to kill him, trying to pull him out of the dark. Its just... so amazing. But the best is yet to come. I'm gonna go to the next part now. Let's see if you got there.

alive is my favorite, the short is literally perfect from animation to action to sound design and plot, even, the subversion of the villain winning is the exact opposite of what was expected in a pixar-style heroes’ story. stellar, and the character dynamics between widowmaker and tracer are so clear from the beginning.

- Winston came from a lunar colony. He was known as Subject 28 (one of the genetically-enhanced gorillas at the colony), but also as "Winston" due to his closeness with Dr. Harold Winston. - Widowmaker's skin is blue because the Talon organization modified her to have a slower heartbeat, greatly improving her sniping accuracy and making her literally cold-blooded. - Hanzo cut down Genji as told by the Shimada clan's elders (mostly because Genji had no interest in upholding the family business), but Genji was rescued and revived by Overwatch as a sort of cyborg ninja. He eventually found inner peace with the help of the traveling omnic monk Zenyatta (brother to Mondatta, the omnic that Widowmaker killed). - The Los Muertos gang are primarily opposed to LumeriCo, the energy company presiding over Mexico that was supposedly involved in many scandals. Though sometimes, the gang members tend to be typical delinquents (like here).

The fact that reaper was an overwatch agent with Morrison who cudd've ranked higher than him but denied it, got blown up with him and thinks its 76's fault is heartbreaking. And how he never got help from other overwatch agents instead got help from an ex-overwatch agent Moira who semi helped him and now both are in talon opposing overwatch.

Bro, i know everyone says the game is toxic and bad, but i haven't even played it, but from all these cinematics, this storytelling isn't just a MASTERPIECE, its also so f*cking heartbreaking and emotional, i can't believe how many of these made me tear up, or straight up cry, once i get another preowned xbox (mine stopped working, just randomly turns on and off and turns off when it reads a disc) I'm definitely going to dive into this game more, i really hope they make a new single player story based one! Y'wanna know something crazy? Almost all of the cinematics are set on playable maps from the game. The only ones that aren't are the Cinematic Trailer and The Last Bastion. You can even find references to the events of the cinematics in them, like Hanzo's arrows in the floor on the second control point of Hanamura, or Reinhardt's name carved into the bar in the attackers' spawn room on Eichenwalde.

In case no one else has mentioned it (I didn't real all the comments), in Dragons, the sword on display inside the hall is actually Hanzo's. He was the most proficient with swords at the time he was being groomed to lead the Shimada clan. Yes, even better than Genji. But, when shit hit the fan and he thought he'd killed his brother, he gave up the sword forever and took up the bow. I wish they'd make a longer, cinemtic movie about their whole history and relationship. There's so much depth there. But I know Blizz's cinematics team cannot devote that much time and energy to one single project, sadly.

@@iiNoqz paladins was in beta for a year before overwatch's release, but i do agree that after overwatch's release they DID make it more similar (such as toning down the movement, which was a dumb ass decision because movement was a key part of the game ._. )
