Hazbin Hotel is straight up a musical show, it has two songs every episode and they're amazing! ^^ Also, if you enjoy Hazbin Hotel you might also enjoy its sister series Helluva Boss, which runs as a KZbin series on Vivziepop's channel. The pilot episode for Helluva Boss came out shortly after the one for Hazbin Hotel and both take place in the same world setting (main difference being that Hazbin focuses on Sinners, aka demons who used to be human and who're confined to the Pride ring of Hell and their attempt to get into Heaven, while Helluva focuses on some Hellborn Demons and their daily life in Hell while they can more or less freely traverse between all 7 rings of Hell and even visit Earth for their job as assassins)

Pilot is considered "soft canon" now -- canon until something in the main series contradicts it. Also, all of the voice actors are different in the series, they're now all Broadway actors and it SHOWS. The music is iconic. Can something be iconic when it's only existed for a couple months? Anyway, definitely watch more!

I am so glad I found your channel before you started watching this series. I LOVE watching my fellow queer squad reacting to this beautiful new hyperfixation of mine. I originally shrugged Vivienne's shows off when the pilots came out because youtube shortstories were huge and of course so was being offensive on purpose. BUT as an older adult who knows cringe isn't real and love's an underdog, I was so happy to get back into Helluva Boss right before they announced Hazbin getting an Amazon series 🎉 You can really feel her passion and dedication to these characters, and as a recovering ex-christian, we always love the original story of the bible being revisited for fun little gay purposes and [REDACTED BECAUSE OF SPOILERS]. Looking forward to watching the rest of the season with you, we are going to go insane :)

First thing I wanna do after watching this is go watch the songs released before they made the show. "Addict" and "insane". Fun facts, I was already watching black gryffons channel (voice actor for radio demon) before they made this pilot, and I'd also already seen vivziepops channel (the one who created hazbin hotel) before she'd made it. I think the character designs are based off how they died. Like take Alastor for example, he has deer antlers and deer ears that look to be part of his hair. When he turns into his full demon form an X shows up on his forehead so I'm guessing he got shot by a deer hunter. (Edit: I looked it up and it said Alastor was a radio host and a psychotic killer)

Please keep in mind that the of the voice actors were changed from pilot to the real series. Most of the newer voice actors come from Broadway like Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) or Keith David (the princess and the frog as Dr Facilier), just to name a few ;) So, yes, keep watching the rest of Hazbin Hotel!

11:21 Not so sure it's trans-Atlantic; Alastor is a New Orleans native it turns out. Dude was a radio broadcaster and cannibalistic serial killer back in his mortal days....which abruptly came to an end in the early 1930's. A hunter mistook Alastor for a deer and shot him in the head while burying what was left of a kill in the dead of night. This also brings to light a fun little tidbit you might enjoy about the sinner-rank of demons in hell (more on ranks later). Each sinner's appearance/traits are often determined by factors in their life and of course how they died. Alastor has his obvious radio voice, but he also has little deer antlers (much like the deer he was mistaken for, and paralleling the cannibalistic wendigo monster), his magic radiates voodoo imagery of his Louisiana home, and there's even an X square on his forehead where he was shot (visible only in his ascended demon form).

It was a good call, they needed the Broadway cast to pull off the musical aspect of the show, and some of the characters in the pilot had two voice actors for dialogue and signing. Best to have one to keep the character's vibe consistent, and also more cost effective.
