Not too many sequels can capture the magic of the original film, without copying the story. The Premise is similar for HomeAlone2 but they manage to change the surroundings and adapt the narrative to make it feel fresh again. HomeAlone2 is a definite must watch sequel after this one. Also I feel like after the 2nd one, child services would probably take Kevin away from his family because of neglect.

I heard about that. Apparently he asked the guy responsible for the prop department if he could at least remove its stinger. And he said “No. We can’t do that. It would die.” And Stern was like “If you don’t, I will”.

Chris Columbus said that Daniel Stern only agreed to do it for one take and he only mouthed the scream, which was added in ADR. Daniel Stern himself said he copied the scream from the film psycho. He was afraid of getting bitten by the spider, but hasn't otherwise said he is afraid of them. The fact that he allowed them to put a spider on his face says it is not his legitimate reaction, he's just a very good actor.

I don’t think you a beautiful soul like you would like the mob movies. I got alit PTSD from teachers messing with me as a kid and I was out those streets you wouldn’t like the violence and curses. I like the movies but just letting you a lot of us based on real events. People say I resemble Sly too u called him cute I 😊😂 which isn’t easy lol. I meant him filming 6th one he was mad over idiot extras staring in the camera. He stopped and shock my hand when I yelled yo yo him 😂 I almost died this week I’m Xmas miracle I feel so good now thank you God bless you Cherry( if grammer bad sorry teachers picked on me wouldn’t teach I get nightmares of them but not all the fights or toxic exs I have) but survived feel great I want help others now just like you helped me. The black and white film (Angels With Filthy Souls) is, unfortunately, NOT a real movie. However, it is inspired by a real movie called "Angels With Dirty Faces" from 1938. Also the scene where Kevin puts the tarantula on Marvs face, he had to do the scream in post. Apparently the actor was too terrified to scream for real because he thought the tarantula would bite him.

14:38 - "Why would he have a pet spider?" "Why leave it alone?" Point #1: I had a pet tarantula for eighteen years. I got her for Christmas from Santa Claus when I was eleven. I couldn't bring it to college with me, so my family had to look after it while I was away, but then after college she was all mine again. (Female tarantulas are quite long-lived; male tarantulas not so much.) I know that spiders are not a pet of choice for everybody, but I loved my pet. Point #2: Tarantulas are pretty self-sufficient, actually. They are accustomed to periods of feast or famine. They're not like a dog or cat where you have to feed them a full meal every single day. You can toss in a dozen crickets at the beginning of a week, and it'll eat one at a time, last quite a while. Even when the food runs out, they can survive for a while until their next meal. Water is important; this kid should have had a generous amount of water on hand, if they were going to be gone for a lengthy vacation. But they can survive for a while even without fresh water; they're desert dwellers, after all. Point for later in the film: Contrary to popular notion, even with their exoskeleton, tarantulas are really quite fragile. A drop from a tall height could cause serious damage, or death. So tossing around a tarantula willy-nilly is not healthy for the animal. But like the rest of the cartoonish violence in this film, we have to suspend the regular laws of nature for the sake of the slapstick humor.

This Christmas classic will always be awesome. Kevin learned that he really does love them despite they bulling him. Marv and Harry are great villains, both would certainly not survive those traps. Home Alone 2 is certainly worth checking out and the other sequels are best to be avoided. As for John Hughes films I highly recommend Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science and Uncle Buck.

Macaulay Culkin wanted to make "Home Alone 3" years later where "The Wet Bandits" are reformed and live in their own house. Kevin McCallister is now a 20-year-old who is a criminal who breaks into their house to rob them on Christmas Eve. Now THAT would have been a great sequel.
