About Bio-Broly and the blood stuff: Dragon Ball's universe is one where you can put a fucking house in a capsule, have a time machine, magical beans, androids that adapt to everything and a radar for magical spheres that grant wishes. Recostructing a warrior by sampling their blood is NOT a far-fetched thing, there has been way more absurd shit and that's part of why DB feels so unique and original. Creating a time machine is fine but advanced DNA studies isn't? I say this 'cause I've seen people calling this a bullshit way to bring back Broly, but honestly the problem was that they brought back Broly in the first place, not how they did it. This was actually one of the few things that made sense in the entire movie.

I read allat. I agree that it's entirely reasonable for it to happen in this world, but I don't think it should be introduced. Specifically because it makes cloning way, way too easy, especially if it's so widespread. That just opens a whole other can of worms about stuff like bringing back the dead. Could they make an army of Gokus? Why focus on Androids instead? Why not meet halfway and clone a whole army of Android Gokus or something? With Dragon Balls you can get similar feats, but virtually nobody outside of the main cast knows about them and the same amount of people can feasibly collect and use them, so it checks out. Cloning from a single drop of blood just opens WAY too many complicated floodgates. And even if you could say that about some other stuff in the franchise which isn't coming to mind for me... Do you really want more of that? You don't want more problems. Most people don't ask for that.

Fun fact: Despite the fact people say he hates Goku due to the crying he actually doesn’t, in the Japanese Dub of the Z Broly movie Paragus explained that Broly actually sensed Goku’s power when he first arrived on the trap planet/New Planet Vegeta and that caused his saiyan instincts to go out of control which made him see Goku as a powerful opponent he wanted to fight and kill, the crying had nothing to do with it. Also in the JP dub he only knows Goku’s saiyan name because Vegeta said it right in front of Broly. Broly also only starts remembering Goku right when he is defeated.

14:12 Ok so to be fair regarding Goten and Trunk’s difference in knowledge, we have to account for the fact that it makes sense due to the different environments that each of them grew up in. Trunk’s mom is a genius and he’s constantly around other scientist within capsul corp. where as Goten grew up literally in the woods area, now that’s not to discount what he brings to the table as in parts of this movie Goten is shown to know about and solve problems that is a lot different from Trunks but in a way it adds a different perspective. I think their dynamic is great because while there are some similarities with how each kid resembles his father personality wise, Goten and Trunks are literally the versions of Goku and Vegeta minus the toxic rivalry; They’re a pair that make up a whole which is a big contributor as to why they’re the most effective when it comes to the concept of fusion.

The real reason is that koyama came up with the drafts for the story prior to the events of the manga unfolding. He explained that a lot of the movie timelines didn't make sense due to him having to make up things that happen as Toriyama is still making plot lines for the manga. Take the lord slug movie for example, Super saiyan has not been revealed in the manga yet but Koyama made up his own super saiyan form commonly called "false super saiyan" by the fandom. Koyama and Toriyama both agree that the movies happen in alternate dimensions so thats the in universe explanation as to why events don't sync perfectly with the main timeline we follow. The movies are essentially some xenoverse type branched histories.

The only space this fits in is RIGHT after Goku showed them the fusion dance but before they learned it themselves, went back to the Afterworld, BEFORE he searched for Gohan's ki on Supreme Kai's planet, between Majin Buu killing Babidi and building his house, so somehow 18 decided while everyone is hiding on the lookout that she wanted her money from Satan before Buu killed everyone, and the kids decided to go with her and Krillin to Satan's house, at which point the movie takes place, which means they went from this ending back to the lookout to do the fusion dance for the first time. IF ANYTHING, this movie explains why they forgot the steps to the dance...

36:09 the reason and time in universe isn't enough to explain it. the original airing of the episode hercule wins against 18 was May 4th of 1994. the episode where goku proposes the idea of goten and trunks fusing, let alone them actually learning the technique was September 21st of 1994, whereas Bio Broly came out July 9th of the same year, in between those two episodes. the manga chapter where goku proposes fusion released on May 10th of 1994, 6 DAYS after hercule wins against 18 in the anime, and 2 MONTHS before Bio Broly came out. now it should make sense why fusion didn't exist in this movie, or why the time this movie is supposed to take place in universe is confusing, since the buu saga was only halfway finished in the manga at the time this movie aired.

So, when it comes to the timeline with the movies, maybe, like, 2 of them makes sense. Dead Zone literally overlaps with the events of the Raditz Saga, Fusion Reborn is post Final Explosion but pre Buuhan (since both Vegeta and Goku are dead), etc etc. You gotta just view the movies as a separate universe where things happened differently in order for them to exist. Most likely, in Bio Broly, Buu was just never woken up and the movie is, like, a week after the tournament or something

@kimberlyfrye8116 no, I get that but if we hating on goten we gotta hate on lil trunks (in most canon material, not taking about wrath of dragon etc.) cause he rly ain't much himself as a character other than a copy pasta crush on mai which his older future version already does and an abusive weird love-hate-respect relationship he has with vegeta every now and then which again...future trunks has. And it's like sage said, the boi grew up in a completely different world to that of gohan...hell his dad was dead for most of his early childhood including when he was born which plays a part into him being more tame than gohan cause I'm chichi had more influence on him without goku around. Goten is vanilla but so is trunks for the most part so it's kinda weird how goten gets the brunt of the hate all the time.

25:10 tbh this is a bad take imo. You do realize that in the Bojack movie Goku helped Gohan without a wish even being involved. That literally had no explanation but Goten accidentally wishing for his father’s help is a bad and it’s a problem all of a sudden and makes no sense? Like come on now if I remember correctly this came out during the Buu arc so Gohan having help post Cell saga in the Bojack movie made no sense and they can’t wish Goku alive anymore with the Dragon Balls so asking for help kind of works. Like come on now it’s not that hard to understand. Even in the Buu saga Goku wasn’t wished back a kai gave them their life back and there was no reason when the Broly returns movie for the Kai to do that.

@@Rscreen So are you gonna make arguments for him or something? Because last I checked he didn’t complain that much about it in the Bojack movie but can’t fathom an “accidental wish” being a thing. If you agree with him say so but explain how it makes no sense. You have the floor. Edit: Also you don’t have to always say “oh this makes sense or doesn’t make sense” for you to show a weird bias. Like I said the Bojack appearance doesn’t make sense so explain how wishing accidentally doesn’t make sense.
