@@Leo-ox1rd Singing in church is not the same as vocal training. For one thing, most church music is written in limited ranges so that the majority of people can sing it. And even if she did more difficult stuff, being part of a church choir isn't the same as being a soloist, as evidenced by her crippling stage fright when put in the spotlight. It's reasonable to think Gabriela might not be ready for a starring role. @@Naahi95 I mean Is not Sharpay’s fault that Troy’s “friends” were so jealous about him having some opportunities for his future, Sharpay did him the favor (Troy was good at basketball so it was not like he didn’t deserve it, like his friends made it seems) and she never told him “you have to leave Gabriella and be my boyfriend” she literally just wanted him to sing A SONG with her, Gabriella and his friends were so jealous but so hypocrite at the same time ( In hsm 3 when Gabriella is leaving to go to College Troy never told her to stop or stay there, he was not selfish like her) Gabriella and Chad are toxic friends. And about Ryan, he literally betrayed her at the end of that movie too (when he changes the song) so he is not better than her like you say.

the fact they didn't ever explore the Chad/Ryan storyline is a travesty. LET MY BOYS BE GAY AND IN LOVE DAMMIT
@FM-cp6kc4 жыл бұрын
Apparently the director and their actors were totally into the idea, and Ryan was meant to be gay from the start. But because of Disney execs and moral panic, Ryan could only be heavily implied as gay, and they gave Chad and Ryan female love interests to emphasize that There Is No Homo In HSM. It was the actors' idea to switch clothes to try to sneak a bit of the original Chad/Ryan idea in.
@pupyfanatic444 жыл бұрын
You could take this a step further and find evidence that Chad may have had a thing for Troy in the first movie too. Which is why his aversion to Troy joining the musical had nothing to do with the singing, but rather it was Gabriella taking Troy away from him.

@@catacc. Basically there was a character in teen wolf who was CLEARLY bisexual- Him liking girls was obvious as he dated and crushed on girls, but as for guys, he openly stared at one of the main guy characters, there was a plotline where virgins were being sacrificed and he was complaining in the boy's locker room that since he was a virgin someone needed to sleep with him and his gay friend, Danny, jokingly volunteered, but instead of getting awkward or mad he actually seemed fully willing and was clearly disappointed when Danny said he was joking. The most obvious point, though, is when he was kissing a girl (whose girlfriend recently died) in a club and he said, “Wait, but I thought you liked girls?” And she said, “I do. Do you?” And he said, “Absolutely.” Then he said, “But you also like guys?” And she said, “Yes. Do you?” And instead of answering he just got this weird kind of “thinking” look on his face, but something came up and we never got an answer. On top of that, the colours for the bisexual flag were literally the colours that were flashing during that scene. He also jokes about kissing guys quite a few times during the series, and overall it’s incredibly clear that he’s bi, but it was never confirmed in or off the show, most likely because the MTV execs didn’t want a main character to be LGBTQ+.

Important theory: the hallway fight in Inception was likely influenced by Scream from HSM3 My proof: Christopher Nolan has a daughter born in 2002 so would highly likely have been a huge HSM fan like the rest of us. Inception came out 3 years after HSM3 so would have still been in pre-production, allowing for the rewriting or insertion of the hallway fight to include the rotation.

I mean Troy's conflict being pretty much unchanged is pretty realistic In the first movie, he was interested in theater (mostly singing tbh) but didn't want to fully get into it because the whole *"jocks don't do theater"* thing but then he realizes how petty of a reason that was and takes up both as a hobby. The second movie is mainly about showing him enjoying himself, his songs and dance are a lot more theatrical in a sense compared to the first film (the sand throw, the kitchen song,etc.) but he still considers basketball as his main hobby and theater is just something he does on the side The third movie makes Troy faces reality and makes him choose between basketball and theater. He knows that basketball is the obvious choice since he's been raised as a basketball star but he's unsure if he wants theater to stop at "just a hobby" (but he probably doesn't realise it) which leads to Scream (the best vent song). In the end, he reaches the same conclusion as he did in the first movie but it's a much more thought out and mature decision rather than just "I do what I wanna do" Anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted talk on High School Musical.

The HSM trilogy was a cinematic and cultural masterpiece and you cannot change my mind. I remember watching the 3rd movie when it came out in theaters and being absolutely FLOORED by how much they upped the production values for the musical numbers. Now Or Never? AMAZING HIGH STAKES OPENING. I Want It All? THE DEFINITIVE “I WANT” ANTHEM. The Boys Are Back? THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN TROY AND CHAD THAT THE PREVIOUS MOVIES FAILED TO SHOW US. Scream? ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS IN MUSIC AND CINEMATOGRAPHY. PLUS, the graduation theme being a softer “we’re all in this together” was just so good. And they FINALLY were in a real musical! Plots were all over the place, especially in the first two films, but you can enjoy them a LOT more watching with the hindsight that comes with age (like the stress that comes with figuring what you’re going to do with your life after your school years are over, the stress of jobs and college applications...
