I was once, politely but forcibly, removed from the members area (I was not a member) of the Grand Casino after I hit a winning streak at the tables and made about £5k. To their credit, they let me keep the money, but I was escorted to the exit by a couple of strategically shaved gorillas in very expensive tuxedos. I asked the maitre d' if they would still have thrown me out if I had *lost* £5k, and he smiled very politely and gestured to the door. It was definitely the classiest way I've ever been thrown out of somewhere, 10/10, would recommend.

I know we eat frog legs in Argie but it's a decadent style thing. As in there's maybe this one restaurant somewhere that happens to be very old school and has been there for 80 years and they still have that on their menu. But at least frog tastes like something. Snail just tastes like whatever sauce you add to it.

In American swamp regions we eat frog legs too. Absolutely delicious! It's about halfway between a firm white fish and dark meat chicken. If you've ever had grouper before, it's a good comparison. But here's the trick. You wanna flour them reeeeeally light in corn flour with just a little salt, black pepper, and a tiny bit of paprika. Then deep fry of course. Brings out the natural meatiness and neatly hides the little bit of gaminess.

It's videos like these that comfort me. I sometimes dream of traveling the world and seeing all the rich people places, only to realize the higher price does not mean higher quality. A small town with clean air and good food is leagues better than the most expensive places on earth. Why try to view the ocean from Monaco, Miami, or New York when the same sea is out in front of a small town with wonderful people, good food, and cheap accommodations? Thank you for this Boris, it makes my wallet feel fat and happy. Also frog legs aren't restricted to France, they're commonly eaten in the Southeastern "deep south" of the US and even up into the Midwest. Not a delicacy but good nonetheless.

France has quite a lot of beautiful places, and the country is very diverse, i would just advise you to avoid the overly hyped famous places. Paris is a bad idea, some nice things to see/do but too much of a hassle. Nice-cannes-fréjus-toulon etc on the southeastern coast is pretty but expensive and very "touristy". Otherwise, almost everywhere will be of interest. Between the sea, ocean, mountains, diverse architectures, forests, etc. you will have a lot of options. Avoid the highways, drive through little towns, and ask for local food / drinks in restaurants, they will almost always have a local specialty they will proudly tell you about :)

I'm really happy you visited one of the best parts of France, maybe not for tourism but living there is truly exceptional. I'm surprised you find that the city has a bad smell. If you were smelling it only close to the airport, I would say it would be the wastewater treatment plant, but as you smell it even in the center of the city I don't really know. If there is wind, as it seems on the video, we got a nice smell of seawater but it smells good, not bad haha. Some points: -The pebbles you see on the beach are here to prevent the sea to take away the entire beach. Thanks to them, there is a beach. -The bread blin hybrid (5:20) as nothing to do with bread, neither with blin except for appearance. This is "socca" and it is made with chickpea flour, water and olive oil.

As a baguette lander and viewer Boris, i'm glad you came to visit us. Sadly, the french Riviera, aka south east all along Mediterranean Sea, is expensive and mostly a tourist trap, not only for restaurants (those snails looked meh), but prices, rental and stuff. Best way to discover true french food and stuff is too go in very isolated and no so touristic places, like some parts of Savoie in the Alps, in the Pyrenees near border with Spain, center of France in Auvergne in the volcano chains, or deep Burgundy or Brittany. For snails and frogs legs, it's indeed a legend. We ate them only during great dinners, especially around Christmas, but sometimes, a good dozen of snails is good ^^ As for Cannes, it's pronounced "CAN" like a tin can. I also a bottle of Ricard, I hope you drank it with water (or even with a touch of mint syrup), and not pure, like many foreigners do x) For the smell, I'm pretty sure it comes from the sea. On beaches of nice, it smell always bad see weed. Can't wait for second video anyway. And at all cost (and I said that to any foreigner who would like to visit France), AVOID Paris, and the 50 major cities, for your safety and health. France isn't safe any more in any big town, especially for tourists.
