I wish I knew this BEFORE playing A Wonderful Life

Hey, y'all! I need to address two mistakes I made when making this video. While cows still have gestation cycles, you no longer need to breed them to get milk. They will only produce less milk as time goes on without a drop in quality. Also, there is one more thing you need to do to get the horse, and that is to send Takakura to the city to buy something. If he never goes to the city, he never has the opportunity to come back with a horse. Hope you guys can forgive these two little slip ups! Keep in mind, the game is still pretty new in it's lifecycle so there are things being discovered left, right and center. I will probably still make mistakes in reporting as more and more is revealed about the behind the scenes mechanics going on. I will always encourage people to call me out on these mistakes, so please leave a comment if I messed up or missed something! Thanks! Also, Special shout out to @Elithegaymer and @The_RealH3R0! I’m not 100% sure on this, but I was constantly buying products and selling chickens (to send Takakura into town) in an attempt to get the horse. However, I never got the horse until I sold milk/eggs/produce in the box. Once I did, I got the horse in less than two days. I normally only ever sold my farm products to Van, so I believe that’s why I didn’t get the horse at first. Just in case anyone is struggling to get the horse, try selling things via the box in front of the barn :)

Cows actually don't stop producing milk in the remake. If you breed the cow they will give *more* milk for 20 days but they never stop completely.

Can confirm, I have one of each cow and haven't had to breed any of them to get milk. If they refuse to give milk, sometimes that's just because they haven't eaten yet.

Another tip: although you get the option to get it early on in the game, don't buy the Seed Maker! Opt instead to cozy up to Daryl, the mad scientist. He may seem odd but he's a friend worth having because once you become friends with him and enter his house while he's home he will gift you the Seed Maker, free of charge, saving you 10,000G. The Seed Maker is very handy because every fruit/vegetable you put into it, it gives you two seeds back. You can basically double the amount of crops this way!

The Harvest Sprites in Japanese are actually called Korpokkur (コロポックル), which are a mythological race from the folklore of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido! They are a race of small humanoids who live in nature, and their name translates to “people under the leaves of the butterbur plant.” If you’re a Zelda fan, you might have heard of the Minish, who are also based off Korpokkur. Anyways, I hope that answers your question as to what the Harvest Sprites are supposed to be.

Sheep are by far the most profitable animal in this game. Even the pricey star cow only nets you just over 8k per season in milk. A sheep with high affection gives golden wool twice per season, selling for 6k each! Combine that with the dirt cheap price of 3k a head, and the ease of care, sheep are clearly the winners here. I personally bought one of each cow for cooking ingredients, then filled the rest of my expanded barn with 11 sheep😊

Spoilers about hybrid crops, flowers and the Seed Maker: The seeds grown from hybridezed Happy Lamps wont be able to be grown again in all seasons if they are put in the Seed Maker. You will have to use another Happy Lamp to make sure the seeds are able to be used in all seasons.

That's great to know! That's how it was in the original so it's interesting that they decided to keep it that way. I wouldn't have been surprised if they introduced something like Plant DNA or something like that which allowed modified crops to keep those traits.

here is something you REALLY should know: Give 1 Coin & 2 Fish to Daryl the minute you get the rod. (this was mentioned, but i am stressing this). he should be your #1 priority. you should be able to get his gift from him by spring 8. 2: GIVE HUGH MILKY SOUP EVERY DAY. yes you will lose money - but if you want to have max affection with everyone, it the easiest way to get him done before the first year. he should be priority #2. 3: your first major purchase (after sheep) should be the Star Bull. you should have enough money by summer 3. (focus on some watermelons to make this work, but your chickens & sheep should help along w/help from digging). you should be able to breed your starting cow with your star bull summer 8. - this gives you a strong chance of having a FREE star cow girl vs spending 50K on one (then breed that bull to the star girl for a 100 percent chance for a second star cow). then sell the bull. :) regardless of what any Year Crop One guide tells you. Plant 6 trees spring 1. (you will have enough gold to do this and get your chicken + feed). do invest in watermelon but keep some back. in fall - invest in as much sweet potatoes as you possibly can. you will thank me later. lol

I wouldn't sell the star bull unless you're planning to never breed your cows ever again. If you're breeding them for milk production (and thus going to eventually sell the babies because you need room to cycle them), save scumming the birth event for a female star calf nets you 25k a baby. With ANY of the 4 types of cows. Star Bull is the best breeding choice in the game.

@@Raina111111 well really, you only need 1 or 2 star cows you could do more obviously, but i find sheep are less work LOL). I figure 1 Normal Cow 2 Star Hefiers 1 Marble (for cheee) 1 Brown (for milk) is more than enough. I don't really feel that breeding a cow and losing milk for 7ish days, (and also hoping that your bull doesn't make EVERYONE pregnant naturally - which is what happened with my ram & ewes) and potentially causing other problems.). but yeah if you want to get into breeeding/selling off the babies, then keeping the bull is worth.

They never outright said, "Cows stop giving milk" but they put so much effort into explaining pregnancy and how it affects the cow that I assumed the mechanic returned. Good luck! Territory capture takes some learning, but it is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. I haven't been able to do the cooking one yet, but there are more possibilities to do it the further you get in the game. The third mini-game I didn't show any footage of because of spoilers is also easy but the reward isn't too great lol

- I took a bit to buy sheep because I didn't realize their worst quality wool sold for 3,000 g, meaning they pay for themselves instantly as soon as they grow big enough to sheer. That, and by the 3rd sheer, my sheep doesn't give me anything but gold wool. 6,000G to Van every time he comes. (I got lucky and timed my sheep to his visits lol) - I find it's better to buy BULLS and play the long game when I want a new cow type. As in, only have normal cow? Buy a brown bull, wait for him to grow up, then breed with your cow. Then, once it's birth time, save scum the birth event for a female brown calf. (you don't have to save the night before or anything. Cow type and gender is decided during the event itself. It's born at an exact time, so it can be save scummed quickly if you're unlucky with the roll but watched the clock) Sell the bull. This method: 1) Gives you a free miracle potion 2) resets the mother cow's milk production for bonus milk 3) Instead of paying 20,000 for a brown cow, you have now paid 5,000 for one, because brown bulls are 10,000 and you get half that back when you sell the father. Rinse and Repeat for all cow types. (Marble is the same price as Brown) However, once you buy a star bull, KEEP HIM. Female star calves sell for 25,000 g. So if you're breeding to up a cow's milk production, you can save scum for a female star calf no matter what Mama is. You don't even half to wait for the calf to grow or give it mother's milk. Sells for 25k the instant it is born. Star Bull is going to be your defacto breeder for the rest of the game as soon as you manage to afford him. (also good for encyclopedia completionism) - The Herbal Soup trick also works with fish. Once you unlock Hervs'd'vore (or whatever it's called), you can use a fish to make sashimi, increasing the amount of people who will now accept your fish. - The Valley exit on the map will show you people who aren't currently in the valley (so you'll see Van's picture there like 90% of the time). Most people don't leave, but I know Grant and Chris' husband do sometimes.

You must be reading a guide from an old game, because there is no potion for breeding. Also it says (and you showed the text) for 20 days of extra milk.

I was definitely basing that point off previous knowledge. Since they never mentioned outright that your cow never dries up, and they spent so much effort in explaining why and how to breed your animals, I wrongly assumed that the mechanic was still present. While going in blind can be fun since i didn't play the original there's stuff i feel I'm missing out on or don't get. For stamina regen, I recommend sashimi, you have to make a bunch of recipes to get the Hors devours option, and then you just put one fish in the ingredients. I feel like a cooking guide would be pretty valuable. But for mining, there are some spots where you can see stuff poking out of the soil when you first come in. Those spots are the easy to get items. You can go around to all the other spots and dig multiple times until you find more items poking out. I've heard that you can just dig in the same spot forever and you'll still get a fair amount of items lol

One thing I wish I knew was that events for marriage candidates get locked once you see the 9 heart event for a candidate and choose the more romantic option. (Slight spoilers ahead) In Muffy's she's having a bad day and one of the options is "Let's date!" I thought it would be more like "Let's go out on a date!" and not "Let's go steady!". I feel bad accepting it knowing I probably won't marry her in the end, and of course also because so many other events got locked after.

My recommendation for early player who want to get financial freedom in this game. In your first day yo have 2400 g. Don't spend all to buy seeds. Use only 100 g for seeds like potato or strawberry (coz they can only be regrown in fall & winter). You already have 5 tomato seeds first and you can trade milk soup in bulletin board to cody (the artist guy) for 5 watermelon seeds, sell all your milk 7 in total so you get 3000 g in 2nd and do these : 1. Buy 1 sheep for 3000 g 2. From day 1 go to exvacation site and dig for GOLD FORK which can be sell to vaan for 1000 g each (do it everyday) you can abuse the save journal before digging. Get one go out, save again, go again and get 2-3 per days. If you relly want it 3. In 2nd day don't sell your milk, cook all to milk soup and sell to vaan in 3rd day 3. In 3rd day when vaan come sell your milk soup (12 total) and golden fork (2 at least). Use all your money to buy summer tree (banana, peach, orange) esp banana since it makes profit more and fill yours least fertile land with it (15 tree in total) and 5 in moderate fertile land optionally 4. Buy fishing road asap and fish and give 2 fish daily to daryl for seed maker 5. Don't buy brush early if you don't have much money. Though useful for you animals, it doesn't contribute much. You can use your money to buy more sheeps or tree seeds

Turn your normal milk into milk soup right at the start of the game it sells for more as long as it is not S class and it will help you increase your cooking skills!!!!!! Also the dog will not leave your farm unless you take it off your farm

I would just like to say that the Cow milking for pregnancy tip is false, that was ONLY for the original games and the special edition. This remake doesn't have that feature. Cows will produce MORE milk for 20 days after 3 days of mothers milk but will then go on to produce the normal amount of milk for the season. If you don't get your cows preggers then nothing happens they will always produce milk and only change the amount depending on the season like normal regardless of how many days pass.

I inappropriately assumed that because they made such a big deal about telling you how pregnancy works, how to use mothers milk, and that pregnancy has an effect on cows, that the mechanic from the old games was still present. From what i've heard, your cow never stops giving milk. it just gives you MORE for the 20 days after mothers milk, so you never run out but it has a temporary boost. i just got the game and i'm doing my own play through so i'll give this a test and see if its true or not. it absolutely was in the original but i think they might have changed it unfortunately :/ honestly i preferred the realism of the originals.

Fun fact that I missed when making this video is that the your first cow will never stop making milk. Getting her pregnant and having calves just gives you more milk for a short period after she gives birth. But to more accurately answer your question, yes; buying a male cow and breeding them for free will continue to give you more milk and new calfs up to your barns limit, which is 8 stalls when you start the game, but can be expanded up to 16.
