Got the same CPU also cooling with a 240 aio. I think its the minimum size for cooling it, but totally works. Set some lower power limits and got almost the same performance as before but with lower temps.

240 AIO does a good job. What power limits did you set? What temps are you getting?

yea i think 280 is the perfect sweet spot of this CPU, but 240 can do the job. this video helped me decide, i kept thinking it NEEDS 360 minimum.

Heyo, stumbled across this video because as it seems your build is very similar to what im planning to build. Huge thanks for testing the 13700k with h100i! Since this is my first ever build, i hoped you could maybe give me a few comments on my planned partlist?: -13700k -4070ti (same model as yours) -msi mag z790 tomahawk wifi ddr4 -corsair vengeance lpx 3600 2x16gb -h100i elite capelli xt -samsung 980 pro 1tb ssd -rm1000x shift PSU Psu 1000w is overkill i know, but i kept this with lookout for future upgrade and price difference was small anyway My main concerns are the cpu temps and how i should optimize cooling of the whole system in general. Ive read about cpu undervolting etc and depending on the temps i get i would do that. Any further recommendations?

Hello. Sure I will do my best to answer. So CPU - 13700k great GPU - 4070 TI great combo for 13700k for 1440p and even 4K gaming and still doesn’t bankrupt you  Motherboard - MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk Wifi DDR4 - great motherboard for the build. If z690 will save you money you can go with that one. I got the Z790 discounted, it was $10 more than Z690 (14th gen CPU will be the last CPU supported by z790 chipset. The next gen will use LGA1851 socket) RAM - Great, stable, no issues - Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 2x16gb Sorage - Great - Samsung 980 PRO 1tb SSD. You may want to go with 2TB. Games and gameplay recordings take space. PSU - RM1000x shift PSU - Great, don’t worry about overkill on PSU. I would rather have the PSU delivering at 60% - 70% load vs 100%. It will keep the PSU temps down, fans quiet, prolong PSU life and provide more stable power to the whole system. New CPUs and GPUs are power hungry and 13700k will keep 4070 Ti at 100%. Now here you might or might not have an issue. CPU cooler - Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT 240mm AIO. I am using Corsair iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT240mm AIO. Size wise they are the same, except for some specs: PRO XT Fan speed - up to 2400 rpm ±10% vs 2100 RPM ±10% for CAPELLIX XT PRO XT Fan Airflow - up to 75 CFM vs up to 65.57 CFM for CAPELLIX XT PRO XT Fan Static Pressure - 4.2 mm-H2O vs 2.68 mm-H2O for CAPELLIX XT In other words FANS on PRO XT provide better air flow and thus better cooling. I am running my pump at quiet settings. The iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT has a variable speed pump so it will help. Set the cooling curb using the Coolant Temperature not the CPU temperature. If you have a case with good airflow, you should be fine. If temps will go up, you can always undervolt the CPU without losing performance. Also use the Grizzly Kryonaut, wipe out the paste that comes with the cooler, it’s not the best. Switching to Grizzly Kryonaut from stock dropped the temps on mu CPU with ~4 C. Hope this helps and thank you for watching

I get like 120s avg with the same resolution and settings paired with a 5800x non 3D. Pretty big uplift with 13th gen, nice!

13th gen is a beast that needs to be handled. It's not like it used to be, install the cpu in and you're good to go. With the 13th gen, if you want max performance and low heat/noise some adjustments need to be made; it's fully customizable and intended to be modified to fit your needs. Pretty happy with it. I thought 240mm will not be enough, but it handles a 13700k really good (gameplay in the video: CPU at stock no modifications, 240mm in quiet mode). Thank you for watching

I have 13700kf and 8000mhz ddr5 it's a Beast combo but in battlefield 2042 the temperature goes over 70° even though I'm cooling with Noctua nhd 15 . My P cores are locked at 5.4ghz and my E cores are locked at 4.3 GHz

Unless undervolted, the 13th gen Intel CPUs will go above 70. The threshold is 100 C, so that is perfectly normal. I am cooling mine i7-13700k with an AIO 240mm and temperature varies between 62 - 75 in BF2042. That is a beast combo for gaming. What GPU are you using?

@@strykergaming_ngadgets I'm using XFX 6800XT merc 319 GPU usage is over 95% even 1080p low settings which is insane no fps drops and no 1% low fps at all . But AMD drivers is shit I Had terrible stuttering because of GPU frequency fluctuation so I had to manually set GPU frequency each and every game it's fixed my problem this is the only solution to fix AMD GPU stuttering problem.

@@Decki777 1080p will put the strain on the CPU. If your GPU hits 95% at 1080p low settings, I bet your 13700kf CPU usage is below 50%. You might have a bottleneck and loose FPS because of the GPU, but as long as you're getting smooth gameplay above 70+ FPS, this doesn't matter. I used to be a fan of the AMD, but switched to NVidia. To many issues and adjustments needed to be done. My last AMD card was an R9 which died as did the R7 before it. So I said enough, and switched back to NVidia. Your english is good by the way.

In games and normal use, 13700k will work with an AIO 240mm without undervolting as long as you are not utilizing all the cores at 100%. Even a 360mm AIO will cause this CPU to get to 100 C if it's at full load on all cores. Undervolt in any case, doesn't matter what cooling solution you are using; at -0.05 - -0.07, the system should be stable with no lose in performance.

@strykergaming_ngadgets 11 ай бұрын
Yes contact frame made a diffrence. I would post some videos on 13700k and 13600k. Intel 13th gen CPUs are prone to bending too. I used Thermalright LGA1700-BCF contact frame. On an 240mm AIO contact frame dropped the temperature with 5 - 7 C. Cinebench gets me to 85, gaming is at 60 - 70 C.

Room temp? Undervolt or stock?
@strykergaming_ngadgets
@strykergaming_ngadgets 4 ай бұрын
Room temperature ~75 - 76 F. There is no undervolt or power limits, everything is at stock speeds in this video. Processor doesn't get hot because in games CPU usage is ~50% - 60%, so an AIO 240 mm will keep it cool. No with this setting the Cinebench test is not great. CPU will hit 100 F pretty fast and will throttle. Currently I have the CPU running with a -0.05 undervolt, 243 limit on power and also installed the contact frame to prevent bending (13700k bends same way as 12700k with original retainer): with these new settings on same AIO 240 mm cooler, quiet settings in Cinebench I'm getting a score of 30,224 more or less, and CPU runs at about 85 to 87 F max. Hope this helps and thank you for watching

I ran it for the test at stock speeds, just to see how it will do on a 240mm AIO. Considering my AIO was set to quiet mode, 70 C it's not bad at all (13700k has a junction of 100 C). To be honest I was expecting higher temperatures. I was able to undervolt to -0.09 and get a stable system with no loss in performance. Dropped my temps ~10 - 12 C. Thank you for your input and for watching.

@@mercygotnerfed315 When it comes to gaming, and all other everyday tasks including editing, temps are great for this CPU considering no undervolting and a 240mm AIO. Cinebench will heat the i7-13700k to 95c with this setup; -0.05 volt offset dropped the temperature in Cinebech all cores to ~85c and in gaming to ~65c. I know there are a lot of videos out there running CRAZZY tests on the CPU and hitting high temperatures even on a 360mm cooler, but my question is: if you're using the pc for gaming, encoding (which in most cases encoding will default to GPU) and other everyday tasks, when the Cinebech scenario or a work task that will require all 16 cores and all 24 threads to be used at 100% will occur?

I got a 13700k paired with a 360 corsair h150 capellix. It hit Temps between 90-100c and I think it has a voltage of a bit over 1.2. Not sure why it so high, my 4070ti is enjoying 1080 ultra settings. Although I accidentally bent like 3 or 4 pins on a new z790a rog strix motherboard so I'm lost on why it's so hot and using damn near 100% cpu
