The 1% lows languish a lot with the 14100f. More often than not they're flat out lower or they're not in proportion to the 9700k. This is really a sample of what Alder Lake can do and its IPC + L2 cache prowess in comparison to a Skylake refresh CPU (14100f is not a true RPL chip).

Where the 9700K will shine is literally utilizing higher end gpus. 8 cores will still provide less stutters and bottlenecks at highly cpu intensive tasks or scenes

Playing games 1080p on 4090 and 9700K is not OC to 5ghz is waste of time. If you are on old build like 9700K, OC it to 5ghz and play 2K, 4K res if you have 4070-4090 or 3080-3090 you see no bottleneck worth enough to upgrade. The GPU becomes the bottleneck.

Всё просто, 9700k не работает с ddr5. Отвечая на ваш вопрос, 3600 - одна из стандартных рабочих частот для ddr4 и до 6000 память не разогнать. Кстати, тесты показывают что между ddr4 3600 и ddr5 6000 нет большой разницы

@Theworthsearcher But the real question is, did you? Having an option but never using it doesn't make it practical. You can use the same motherboard for Intel 12,13 and 14th generation CPUs. But if you are changing your system after a decade these options would be obsolete. Though I will add, looking at current generation of AMD Zen 5 and Intel Core Ultra, things have rather stagnated so maybe there will be no great advancements in the next decade.

To the best of my knowledge. The i3 is a newer CPU and runs using DDR5 RAM where the 9700k can only run DDR4 RAM. Hence the difference.
