IAA: Shopping for Wrecked Cars on a Budget Ft. Nissan GTR, 911 Turbo, Viper STI (Copart Walk Around)

In today’s video I take a trip to Insurance Auto Auctions (IAAI) to look at several cars including a 2004 996 Porsche 911 Turbo, a Mk7 Golf TDI, a 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, 2015 Subaru WRX STI, 2006 Dodge Viper Srt10, 2017 Nissan GTR R35, 2000 B5 Audi S4, 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit and many more Salvage and Wrecked cars.
No Frame Damage, those are the type of cars I typically look for.

The Porsche, the exhaust, it's replacement OEM (stock)... You can hear it, that's a perfectly running engine... With a Porsche exhaust. That car sounds EXACTLY right.

When hit in the front never say no front end damage ,there are so many pieces and part that can be damaged that you can’t see unless you put it on a lift ,take it from a body shop man.just FYI

The front end on the STI, only needs a fender, two headlight assemblies, and a front bumper cover... That's it. Around $4k to redo the front end, on the STI...

I got a 2016 Lexus GS F with 48k miles for 24k off copart front end right side damage. All it needs is a hood, headlight, fender, bumper cover and a grille.

@@JohnStax98 Yeah man I had a rcf prior to that but I wanted something bigger so I decided to go for the gsf. And yes I found a used headlight with the ballast got under a 1000$ I bought a carbon fiber hood instead of a oem because it’s cheaper to do that and other parts like the bumper cover and fender I got off dealer and I found a aftermarket grille for 400$ looks exactly like the oem Bec the oem one cost around 3k used

On the Hellcat, those bumpers NEVER return to perfect, and that quarter panel will liklely need to be cut, and get donor sheet metal welded in. That rear damage is worse than you think...

The front end on the STI would be CHEAPER to fix, than the rear end on the Hellcat. The pilar and hood, on the STI are salvageable. That driver side is shot to shit though!

The GTR; Depreciation has brought the value of the car low enough, that the cost for the parts, plus the labor, and tax, would approach or possibly exceed the current market value of the cehicle. So they totalled it. Guy at a junk yard buys it at a bank auction, realizes the damage aint so bad, gets a salvage title for it... and BAM! Perfectly good GTR sitting in some lot, just waitin' to be sold for 20 some odd thousand dollars. That's how it goes sometimes, especially when well off owners, who don't know anything about cars, get into accidents. If it won't turn on, they figure it's shot, and if their insurance company says it's totalled, they don't know enough to say any different. I always say "when you decide on the car, BUY THE HAYNES REBUILD MANUAL, for the car. Read it, cover to cover, like a novel, and THEN go ahead and buy the car," because having read that manual, you're going to have a basic understanding of the mechanical essentials involved with that vehicle. Then, when you get into an accident, you can have a much better idea as to what you damaged, why it isn't working, and whether it's extensive enough to warrant totalling the vehicle. Always buy the Haynes Rebuild Manual first. Hell, you'll find a bunch of shit you can handle yourself, and not paying other people to do those light maintenance tasks will pay for the cost of the manual.

Flex fuel sensor, gtr is definitely tuned. E76 means the ethanol content in the gas was 76. Which means it’s on some pretty good E85 fuel!! I’d definitely try to get in contact with the original owner if you win the gtr!!!
