A awesome bet between you and Paul would be both of you doing a cut / developing a posing routine to guest pose at one of the shows you are having and then have the judges judge them as if you're a two person class, loser buys the after-show meal or something, would be great content and a additional draw to the show, you could even do a little vlog series leading up showing elements of your individual preps.

Well I had Hassan winning and I've been following bodybuilding for the last 5-6 years closely. I love Iain as a personality and bodybuilder, but I believe Hassan was the better guy. I don't think having an edge in conditioning should be the deciding factor if the other guy is superior in almost every muscle group! And it's not like Hassan was a complete water buffalo like he has been in the past. Sure, his glutes were a bit watery and his midsection could have been tighter but again, he is superior to Iain in almost every muscle group. And this is no disrespect to Iain, just my honest opinion.

Bodybuilding fans are often silly. Saying that guts are killing bodybuilding, Shawn deserved to beat Phil but now when Hassan loses because of his gut (and midsection + narrowness + posing), they are screaming that it's unfair. Iain won because he was more proportional, conditioned, had a tiny men's physique waist and won his fair share of poses - which is extremely important. At last Fouad is acknowledging the fact that what you see at home on a computer screen vs being at a show is majorly different. I remember like two years ago when they were debating shows he always used to answer us in the comments that he’s a pro and he has an experienced eye and doesn’t need to see shows live to judge them fairly. I remember because I was actually one of those guys who thought it didn’t make any sense what he’s saying, but glad he’s changed his attitude towards that now.

Can you screen shot where I said that? I don’t remember saying that it didn’t matter. I’ve always tried to see the judges point of view and why they picked someone. Doesn’t mean I always agree but I also don’t have the experience they have.

The topic of discussion should not be if Iain won or not. The topic of discussion should be against the Toronto show promoters. There needs to be a minimum standard of livestream quality or no livestream at all. a 480p quality blurry live stream is doing the athletes a disservice and creates all this drama, especially when online bodybuilding channels takes screenshots of blurry livestreams and uses that as their broadcast material. If I was the IFBB, I'd be setting a standard and not allow such a quality stream to take place. Picture quality has to be of certain standards and the cameras have to be as close as the judges are sitting with at least 3-5 different rotating angles.

I am a fan of Iain, but the defending of Iain in this context becoming a bit ridiculous. You are interpreting bodybuilding through pictures on the podcast and you have been a spokesperson(s) for saying your opinions as a part of the game. And yes, of course it is. It is not personal. Just as people commenting and have opinion of football and baseball from watching TV, people have opinions on bodybuilding. And it is subjectiv. Many people think Hassan was better. For example, those who emphasize size and big round muscles with full look will think Hassan was best. If you like smaller waist and ripped look, Iain was better. And of course it is different to be there live vs screen, but it will be the same for all the athletes. Let people discuss, have opinions and be enthusiastic. It is a part of the game. You can disagree with people’s opinions, but now you actually criticize that people have opinions. The personal hate is of course not ok, but that many people thought Hassan should have won is legit and these frictions are the charm with bodybuilding and sports in general. Iain himself take this very good imo. I understand the judges, but I also see how many people actually think Hassan was best. He was an impressive monster. Great podcast!

About the Portugal show that Iain was talking about. I work on that show, i'm one of the tanning guys! I do agree with Iain about the show being more a spectacle for the crowed, even for us is bad because the athletes are always coming back for touch ups on they're tanning. But being the only pro show in Portugal and since bodybuilding here is still a small "sport", probably the promoter is trying to please the audience and show more of the athletes (pro athletes) since we only have this top physiques here once a year, in a attempt to grown the sport here.
@bikerforlife4865 Жыл бұрын
Dear Iain makes claims that lack logic. It is true that the total package is the whole, not its individual parts, but if one of its parts is missing, the whole does not exist. To be clear: the proportions are the skeletal and muscular development ratios, and even if you don't know it, they have been codified for 2600 years (studies the Polykleitos canon); symmetry is instead the equal development between the two halves of the body measured in the vertical direction. So if a BBder is without calves or arms it is not proportionate, if it has short legs, it is not proportionate = CANNOT COMPETE IN THE BB. Then we come to Ross: he has no calves, no development of the lower back, his thighs are too big for the rest. How do you tell that it has line and he's proportionate? Shall we put logic under the shoes ? Or do we not have the doctrinal basis to speak?
