IAM I Aloha Molokai

The acronym IAM represents "I Aloha Molokai," a working group comprised of Molokai residents opposed to the proposal to develop a 200 megawatt industrial scale wind power plant to serve the energy needs of Oahu. IAM's mission is to share information, as well as educate the general public to the potential impacts of the project. This is a grassroots effort to raise awareness and provide balance as the developer and proponents of the project move forward in their attempt to persuade the island community to support the project.

Thank you for standing on our Mother Earth and in particular the beautiful island of Molokai and speaking this truth. I completely agree with this viewpoint.... not only is the idea of erecting wind turbines on Molokai to power Oahu damaging to Molokai.. but it does not make sense! It is time to be self sufficient.....Oahu has the capability of producing power itself..... Thank you for this video.... I will share.....my prayers are with you also ..holding the vision of Molokai as now

It is surmised Molokai had a thriving community of 100,000 people, Hawaiians in ancient time ("Ohana" and "Ohana Laha"), a time long before intitial-contact, and even before be the Tahitians and Samoans arrived. It is the time of the Original Hawaiians, descendant from seafarers most likely from the society Islands and Marquesas, the 1st Hawaiians; a people and culture who did not involve themselves in warfare.

3 DAYS TO GO The IAM films have been played almost 8000 times. At this moment with only 3 days to go, we have 45 backers and $4400. Kanoho Helm and the Anahaki Box Band played tonight in beautiful downtown Kaunakakai. We had $1356 in contributions, giving us $4016 at the moment. There are only 7 days to go and we still need $6000 to reach our goal of $10,000. We need an avalanche of pledges this week. Plus there are still some great $1000, $5000 and $10,000 rewards out there waiting to be given away! We are working hard to save Molokai and need your help to make more films. Aloha, I agree 100%. Big Wind is not the answer. Wind farms are a 1970 technology. They now have smaller more efficient turbines that can fit on each individual building, that also can be retro fitted into new construction projects. Every building and home can power themselves, No need encroach on precious land to power another Island. Come on Gov., just google it, got plenty alternatives out there.

I agree with this video 1000% BIG WIND PROJECTS on Molokai is not the answer to the energy problem. I also disagree the solar panels are the answer to the energy problem on Oahu. BUT the is a NEW Wind system coming soon that will be able to generate more then enough power on the location sites without using more land area. Big Wind farms are old technology! In a few years Medium wind turbines will change the industry and the energy future.
