"good worker" You make a neat and tidy house, a good worker does A pinion of labors men as capable as trust From a lower point of view, comes the underlying truth Keeping yourself unaware, confident we know you care Looking out your little mind, recognizing time has passed Ready for some further use, denial is a virtue I make a good and steady friend, a companion through life But who am I, when all I am is your designated wife? From a lower point of view, comes the underlying truth Keeping yourself unaware, confident we know you care Looking out your little mind, recognizing time has passed Ready for some further use, denial is a virtue [x2] Sadly, I have not defined where you're taking me

Taken literally, her wild and instinctual side is dragging her back to nature after a time in a society devoid of and separate from nature. She has a passive willingness to be taken back and her expressions show she is content in this direction. Reflections of the trees in her eyes show that she is directly informed by nature and her perception is shaped by the natural world around her. The inclusion of the in-car scenes shows the internalised and real representation of this creative direction.

Another bit to support this idea of two characters: when it shows the character being dragged (which has hair that is much more curly and frizzy and a hood as shown in the beginning) it shows stems of plants flowing left to right. When it shows the character that is in the car, she has much more straight and tamed hair and the plants are shown flowing up and down from only her right side.

The people complaining about this song (And the new Sever series in general) don't seem to understand that artists change and evolve as their music progresses.Nothing iam has released has sounded anything like the preludes for a long time. It's not as if this is a sudden change. I'm liking the faster paced/ "radio friendly" tracks. No matter what style or length of song Jonna writes, she's an amazing musician. If you can't put aside your nitpicking, why are you here?

I think this song is parallelling two events, the one in the car and the one she feels is happening in her mind. Being dragged through the woods incapable of freely escaping, and then being brought along on a ride to who knows where.

Been watching the iam videos since the first few clips but have never once commented, and I don’t know what the current consensus is, but the feeling I definitely got from this video was that the woman we see in the station wagon is the creator of all of this, and the more done up version being dragged is her imagination, so what I think we're seeing is the real version of this woman taking what looks like a cathartic drive into nature and her imagined version of herself as this happens.---

I love that so many fans are trying to interpret and understand the concepts of these amazing videos! and while, I learn a lot from all the interpretations shared and offered here, sometimes all I need is to simply enjoy the sounds they use and the visuals. The art directing itself is fantastic! and the best part for me - Jonna is so natural and genuine and probably the least pretentious artist I have ever seen :)

Two months and several life experiences later, and I interpret the song as being about settling into a cookie cutter life, doing everything society says you should, only to realize its not what you really want, so you disconnect to cope. "Denial is a future"

There's two characters in this. One is being dragged, the other is in a car. Notice how the stems of the trees in background streams left to right (relative to her head) in some shots as opposed up and down as they would if she was being dragged on her back.

When she is dragged by the "big hairy monster", I see it as the "monster" is her emotions. And these emotions control her what she does and where she goes, and when she drives away in the car, she distances herself from her emotions I may be wrong, but that's how I interpret it.

Does anyone else get the impression that their videos touch on the current environmental crisis and the abuse of natural resources? The socket, the car, the water bottles, the contrast between man-made and nature. I know it may be a bit hackneyed but the old-school Alraune story was, in part, a cautionary tale against stripping the earth for profit. What if the line "my worst fear is real life" doesn't only imply denial but that iam's greatest fear exists now as a reality, that it has come true.

One that people must realize when they watch this video is that the hairy creature is not pulling Jonna (well not the way you may think) but instead he is pulling the car that is wrapped up from drops (she is in the car). Remember that at the last of drops the car is wrapped in plastic (also remember that plastic is like the aluminum foil in bounty).
