this isn’t burn-in. that’s ghosting / memory effect. it happens on cheap LCDs but not higher quality ones (think cheap TN display vs a good IPS). when i got my first monitor i also had this happen to me because it was about the cheapest no name thing you could buy. burn-in is specific to CRTs and OLEDs and it is permanent. if it’s not permanent, then, by definition, it isn’t burn-in. to “burn” something in tech lingo is to change something permanently (like burning a CD, for instance).

It took like 2 years for that to happen, and even that went away eventually when I stopped watching Comedy Central. 3) Even old crappy pre-2000s Rear Projection screens aren't that bad. @andrewevenson26572 жыл бұрын
Screen burn in takes longer than a few hours. Just look up a video of people testing it, people have tested OLED, LED, and whatever else type of screen you can think of. Even after a year the screen burn in isn’t that bad. If the picture is real, it’s not burn in, but it seems more likely that someone just crafted this joke. It’s a good joke though. If it is burn in, it has to be a defective screen cause no proper screen burns in that fast.

I was playing Smash Bros Brawl on my old laptop, and i messed up some settings so the screen would flash every other frame. i didn't think much of it other than "this sucks, nobody would want to play this on this pc" so i turned it off. but then to my horror the blurred timer, Luigi, batman, and bomber man's %meter was permanently bunted onto my laptop with a terrifying RED vignette. but thankfully it wasn't permanent. to remove it I used some of those flashing color videos to fix it and it was back to okay after an hour, then by the next day it was completely gone.
