I first saw a video on this last week, and watched this video today several times before I decided to get it. While I'm learning to play the keys, this will be pretty useful for not only getting down ideas, but I dig its flexibility to change as I see fit. Thanks for this!

First time viewer of this channel.. I have been creating stuff on my iPad and my iPhone, and not sure how to “publish” or copyright them to use on my website for introductions or my KZbin channel - I am hoping this channel can help me Peace everyone.
@IAMLXGEND29 күн бұрын
By law, Your original work is copyrighted the moment you create it. If you want to register the copyright then you would do that at copyright.gov In terms of publishing, do you mean distributing your work or publishing itself? There are some distributors out there who do both.

Hey so I've been looking into Landr over the last couple of days since I want to start finallly putting my music out there. I really loved your breakdown of their pricing vs Distrokid, But something that's extremely important to me is that my music is safe to use/listen to on both youtube and Livestreams for gamers and video editors. Do you know if Landr has any way to release "Safe to play/Safe to stream" music?
@IAMLXGEND29 күн бұрын
I mean, it would be safe for them if you did release through LANDR in terms of copyright. LANDR doesn’t issue copyright claims. Just Content ID claims. So those streamers or KZbinrs just wouldn’t be able to earn ad sense. Otherwise, I’m not sure there is a way to white list a song. I haven’t looked into that. May be a question for their customer service.
@CrezetheousVP29 күн бұрын
@IAMLXGEND appreciate the info. Yeah I want them to be able to keep their money, especially if they're already crediting my music. Thanks for the quick response! Subscribed o7

Music production just got really easy? Then what's the f***ing point? How about mountaineering just got really easy. Our mountaineering assistant will helicopter you to the summit with absolutely no climbing experience needed! FFS.
@IAMLXGENDАй бұрын
The point is it shouldn’t HAVE to be hard to turn your ideas into actualities. As someone who’s been making music for 25 years I dont see any issue or downside whatsoever in making the process of ideation to execution easier. Why the fuck would I WANT for it to be HARDER for me to create my songs? Isnt the whole point to be able to express myself exactly how I desire through my music with the least amount of hardship and bumps in the road? Your comparison is very dumb. It’s like saying “performing brain surgery SHOULD be harder! That way we can save LESS lives!” The purpose of becoming a brain surgeon is to save lives. If a tool became readily available that made brain surgery incredibly easy, how STUPID would it be to say “no, I don’t want that. Making lifesaving easy? What a dumb idea. We need to make it harder!” These takes are incredibly dumb. FFS indeed. If you don’t like the tool, don’t fucking use it. You wouldn’t tell a beginner mountaineer to go and climb Mount Everest with zero knowledge or experience and expect them to survive, would you? No. You’d tell them to take on an appropriate challenge for their skill level with the necessary tools to help them improve. The same can be said about music production. You wouldn’t tell a beginner music producer with little to zero knowledge to go out and make a masterpiece with a 40 piece orchestra, multi-layered drums, and perfectly tuned plugins and vocals and expect them to achieve it out the gate, would you? No. You’d tell them to take on an appropriate challenge for their skill level with the necessary tools to help them improve. People don’t magically start out masters of any trade. They need help and a starting point. This tool is help and a starting point. And even for more experienced people like myself with 2 decades of music production under their belt it’s nice to have when you just want to spark an idea here or there. “FFS”
@SteveMcGarrigle3 күн бұрын
@@IAMLXGEND Thanks for your long and thoughtful reply. There are some points you make that I completely agree with, so you may have slightly missed my point. (Btw I’ve been producing music for many years as well, the mid eighties ) My point is,that for me at least, making music isn’t about just having the end product, it’s about how you grow and learn in the process of producing your music. It’s as much about the journey as it is about arriving at the destination. Surely the journey is why you do it isn’t it? That’s the enjoyable bit. The creative process. If you have a machine generate chords and Melodie’s for you, are you ever going to learn and grow as a musician? You are essentially selecting from a choice of ideas placed in front of you, rather than learning the language of how those ideas were generated. Do you enjoy actually writing music or are you just after the praise and accolades of being a producer? You can go to the gym and work out, or take Roids, but no one respects the guy who’s got big from juicing. Tools can be cool and useful, Brian Eno used his Oblique Strategies cards to suggest ways forward in his productions but some tools won’t make you better and stronger at your craft. It may be a generational thing. Everyone wants instant gratification without putting in any work these days. Maybe you don’t need to put in the work any more, but I think we should all be wary of an over reliance of technology that dumbs down human imagination and creativity.

Technology is slowly making the human species a brainless entity.
@IAMLXGENDАй бұрын
Not really. But you’re making yourself a brainless entity if you’re letting technology take over everything for you. Blame yourself. I’ve been using tools like this for decades. Im also a professional employed musician and have been for almost 3 decades. I have yet to see how this or anything like it has made me brainless. If anything, it helped me increase my playing skills enough to get the gigs I currently get and have.
