I'm not yet an NCT stan but I really admire Taeyong's leadership. SM may not be the best entertainment company but they have the best and polite artists in Korea. And I can see why SM chose him as the leader. If you watch all the other SM group leaders then you'll know the reason. All SM leaders does not just lead and represent their groups, but they lead and represent Korea as a whole. This is something that amazes me about SM and their artists. I also admire how he's working hard in studying english. He knows he has a responsibility to lead his members even in a foreign land. I even noticed in their recent US interviews how he's doing his best to speak in english and trying to help carry the burden of answering those english questions even though their group has 3 reliable foreign swagger members who can speak in behalf of the group. His sense of responsibility is really noticeable even in his silence. Truly an admirable kid. He deserves that leader role.

It’s hard to not be selfish when you’re in such a big group but the fact that Taeyong ALWAYS puts the other 17 before himself whenever and wherever just shows how selfless he is. He’s only contempt when everyone else has or does what they want first, and that’s quite a rare thing to see in today’s society. Just went to their concert May 19. The group was introduced individually to the audience. As soon as Taeyong stepped on stage, you instantly felt that he is the leader. It's truly a survival of the fittest and to be able to debut out of all of the skilled trainees and become the leader of 21 (and still counting) talented members, speaks a lot of volume how capable Taeyong is. Before knowing more about NCT, I always wondered why they would choose Taeyong as the leader especially since he’s already the center/face. I thought Johnny would be more suited for the leader’s role, but now I know.... maybe ima add one more thing for fun. his videos are actually really great tutorials on how to lead in real life. not just compilations, even shows in general (tip: look at his eyes and gestures. you'll see how he stays aware of things). I'm very new to kpop, but even before i knew nct i've been watching taeyong's videos for a while and what he does actually works. u can easily learn more from taeyong/suho/even baekhyun and other group leaders than from books, because they're usually naturals who were appointed (aka they have the gift of leading) and also its a tutorial shown directly in front of us, no imagination needed.

It's like SM has some kind of model function to specifically to make leaders or something. SM leaders are the best leaders in Kpop. They have these hard to describe part of personality that comes so naturally to them as leaders. It's like you can give one scenario to all of them and they'd all give a 99.9% similar reaction to it as a leader. Maybe it's having to deal with such a company and many other hardships. It's saddening to see the burden they have to carry but at the same time if I'm proud of being a SM stan ever, one of the reasons would be the leaders from SM groups. They really are pretty amazing. And Taeyong falls effortlessly in that line.

If you think about it, taeyong probably has one of the hardest job in Kpop. Being a leader of 7 members is already hard enough but he has 17 and more to lead. What amazes me is how organised nct is if you think about it from a perspective, they always manage to line up, be attentive, and also not get like chaotic even with a number of members present. SM has in my opinion the best leaders out there, from leading a large number of people to the obstacles the group has to face and faced already

Taeyong is one of the most aspiring leaders in kpop. Even though he is certainly extremely talented in so many different areas, he is still humble and selfless, which isn't easy at all. He is a role model not only to fans and the public, but also his fellow members, and we all look up to him for his many talents and caring personality.
