Absolutely, I resonate with that! Observing how comedians like Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby craft their material has really opened my eyes. I remember trying to write my own jokes but often found myself overthinking the punchlines. Through the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, I learned that humor is about authenticity and connection, not just the jokes themselves. It's all about experimenting and embracing those awkward moments. Keep refining your style-it's a journey worth taking!

Very interesting video. As an open mic comedian, videos with real nitty gritty about the writing process are gold. Am not familiar with Ian Edwards, will go and seek him out now. Thanks.

Yo Hot Breath! I have landed on yet another one of your videos. I have navigated the library of your channel quite a bit and I just wanted to say that your channel has been incredibly beneficial for me. In my opinion, you do not get the numbers you deserve, but you should know your channel is top notch, man. Thank you for what you do. Has helped my progression as a comic immensely!

I think for some, explaining their process is like explaining how their mind works. It's verbalizing in a ""comedic" way how you understand things. How you say it is in you I feel. How would the conversation with you go?

What is a patch for a joke ? Btw love hearing comedians breakdown there jokes I would love to hear more about how comedians came up with some of there best jokes and how they put it together
@HotBreathPod5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that feedback! My understanding of a "patch for a joke" is finding a laugh that was not there before. Our goal as comedians is to get as many LPMs (laughs per minute) and we all find those laughs at different times. Sometimes it takes a comic 10 minutes to find a laugh or 10 months and even 10 years. Some of my personal jokes have evolved over years. It's a funny idea to you but you may not understand how to add a "patch" to the joke until a few years later as your comedy skillset improves. I hope that makes sense?
