Nice modern style Barlow, from Sheffield. Probably won't see a second one of this custom knife, which really is nice to have in the collection. The Brittish makers really make distinctive clippoint blades. Thank you John.

I like the non metallic bolsters ,as I have a bad habit of using them as small flattening hammers for closing staples etc( out of laziness) . Instead of using misplaced Leatherman or other

At first I didn't like that the bolster wasn't metal. But the more I look at it, the better it looks, and I really like the pivot. Definitely distinctive, that's for sure. Nice gift!

I carry a Barlow; and so do my firstborn son, his wife, and their three daughters. There is an old fiddle tune called "Barlow Knife" with lyrics as follows: I've been a-fiddlin' all my life, And all I've got is a Barlow knife. A very handsome Barlow! I know there other knife makers using the tang stamp for Sheffield, but was curious if there is a added mark indicating his handiwork. If he is a craftsman working under A Wright and Sons house. It is my impression that some knife makers work for Wright & Sons, and also produce their own variations and mark their work. Maybe a question for Larry as I recall podcast he had a quest who was doing such work. She was interesting! Thank you for your great shares. And details.👍

My list says next is a Case, preferably a large Stockman in Carbon steel but there are some sweet little TEWs with some kind of plastic scales but the plastic feels and grips like rubber but is solid. My TEW Stockman has the scales and are highly practical but look great. I do like that Barlow, the design is old fashioned but not and the A Wright clip blades are my favourite on a Barlow (though the spearpoints are sweet!) I'm filling up my knife collection box with knife collectors stickers. I might film with it in the background but it will be a few aspects of outdoors type stuff too (I'm currently customising the Marbles Jungle Bowie) and I'd really like yours and RJs stickers on the box if that's at all possible? Beautiful handle, but blade looks worse than on Pakistan made barlows. I wonder if that's what this "custom" maker is doing - just re-handling Pakistani knives
