@@instanttregret Actually that would make a fun game, although it would probably play more like We The Revolution. A game where the main mechanic is mediating disputes. We start off with simple cases, and by the end the player is either very familar with Islamic law, or the fictional law code of the fantasy world if this isn't a Travels of Ibn Battuta game. The other part of the game would be a walking sim with RPG elements, as you explore cities and experience the overarching plot.

Not entirely correct. Many of these places had border outposts that rigidly enforced who came and went. The video itself even points out he had to meet with the Turkish Slave Empire (The Mamluks). To be fair though, this was mostly due to regulating material. Some stuff was taxed heavily while other things were illegal to bring in entirely.

Everywhere in the world has a slave in the past you know. It doesn't mean that you can't be proud of some part of your history. Fun fact: Islam right now got mocked a lot for being restrictive and old. But back in the past, Islam is very progressive, giving slaves more rights than they have before. I mean they still slave sadly, but its better than no right at all.
