Hi Paul: Yes my wife and I tasted the Ice Cream mangoes in 2020 and my wife loved it so much, we drove from Hollywood to Homestead to buy the plant. This year we have our first fruit. It’s almost ready! Can’t wait to try it!

Lemon Zest gets the best most positive comments from every person I give them to and I am talking over 50 families. It’s so consistently exactly like it should taste and makes a nice amount of fruit on the tree and you always know when they are ready just by the percentage of yellow on the skin.

Do they ship?
@weiss6132 жыл бұрын
Yes. You have to pick them green then it’s safe to ship. If they have yellow and it doesn’t get there in 2-3 days it could become a problem unless each one is cushioned perfectly. I use bubble bags for each fruit (expensive) but I spare no expense to get the fruit in perfect condition to friends and relatives.

Great local nursery. I'd been looking for an M4 mango for a while... and nobody had them in stock. Visited LOVE Nursery and he told me he'd have one for me in 2 days. That weekend I stopped by and picked it up.

I put a 3g Ice cream from Lara farms into a 15g and honestly its the best looking mango I have in a container. Julian had me taste one when I was there getting other plants and of course I walked away with one.

Ice cream is my favorite mango, I have been growing them for over 15 years. You can definitely keep the trees pruned to about 8 feet and they stay very productive. However, I don't think it will do well in a pot for very long. While you can prune the foliage, the roots continue to grow in healthy trees. I would use the budwood from the potted trees to top work another mango you don't like as much.
@FruitfulTrees2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info. How have you Ice Cream Mangos produced each summer over the years? Where are you located?
@dansobien81962 жыл бұрын
@@FruitfulTrees I had a tree at two different houses (and now a third) the trees were always very productive. I would prune them back to 4 to 5 feet every year right after picking the fruit. I let all the pruning drop and after the 3rd or 4th year that was the only fertilizer it got. Every year the tree would grow to around 9 feet before I pruned again. The tree was alway a huge producer, but the foliage is very dense, so it would hide its fruit. Every year the tree had 3X the fruit that I thought it had. It is very hard to tell when to pick it, there is almost no color change. I would just leave it on the tree until the squirrels started on them. My producing trees were at two different houses in Bradenton. My current one is just a baby in Lee County.

I have a 3g Ice cream mango tree. I’m debating on whether to keep it potted or plant it. I’m not sure if I have the patience for nurturing the pot. Either way I can’t wait to get the fruit!
