Ive tried adding simple syrup (homemade) and the iced americano gets an artificial sweetener taste that I hate. Does this happen with you?

At home I mixed instant coffee power sugar and water and than boiled it and kept it for cool and take a glass put ice in it coffe and water it's fine to make americano like this??
