For folks not knowing, the fastest out of these 3 jets, believe it or not. its the 52 year old F-15E STRIKE EAGLE.

Yeah but it's actually faster to use all it's fuel too so the f22 has the more useful form of speed. And they won't tell us the top speed of the raptor with it's afterburners lit. Maybe I know.......... maybe I don't 😂

Real question. Where the he'll does all this russian military vehicle bashing come from. I don't like them either and our f22 is deffinetly better, f35 meh not our best. But you really think the guys who made migs, the sukhoi line and hypersonic missiles don't know how to make a 5th gen fighter? Or is it just fun to talk shit? I've heard they suck at stealth compared to us but they do know how to make a fighter jet
@robert5943

@robhappe853 it'd not that they don't know how to make them, it's the fact that Russians and russian cheerleaders that are all over social media make it sound as if they've got fleets of them when there are only a handful made, and even less operational. They can imagine the idea but they also have to imagine the money to pay for them so nor many are made for thlast reason

@@robhappe853actual close up photos of the SU-57 shows crappy stealth quality. It’s really more like a 4.5 generation fighter rather than a 5th generation. Also of significant note is that since 1979, the kill ratio has been extremely lopsided in favor of F-15s and F-16s over the counterpart Soviet/Russian built aircraft. Kills are 76 to 1 for F-16s and 104 to 0 for F-15s. Yes I know that pilot training is a factor.

I don't know how to tell you this. But every year the Navy and Air Force have an exercise called Red Flag out of Nellis AFB. In one exercise one Raptor fought against and took out 7 F-15'S all by itself. The Eagle pilots said they never had a chance. They didn't even know it was there until the Raptor had weapons locked on them. And that meant it was too late, because it was very close, and made evasion all but impossible. They said it was like taking candy from a baby. Speed is important, but when it comes to stealth aircraft, it's not the most important. Even when it's 150 mph slower than the Eagle. It's bigger and just as, or better armed, and its radar cross section and return is the size of a bumble bee. And even if they did manage to detect it. It's radar return is so intermittent there is no way to track and lock onto it. Which means that regardless of how fast they are. The Eagle, or any other 4th generation fighter doesn't have a prayer against it.

@@jamiefairlie4837Dogfighting no longer is a viable tactic when every Air Superiority aircraft has Over-the-Horizon missiles. Of the 104 kills the F-15 has scored, only two have been gun kills. Against helicopters. The F-16 has a very similar missile:gun kill ratio. The F-14, despite being touted as a dogfighter, used primarily the AIM-7 to engage targets. During the Iran-Iraq War in the 80s, Iraqi MiGs were getting blown out of the sky by seemingly nothing, as they couldn't see the enemy. It was chalked up as sabotage by the Iraqi government. As it turns out, Iranian F-14s were having a turkey shoot with their missiles. Iraqi MiGs simply were getting picked up and engaged far beyond the range they could fire at. As for the F-14 and F-111: Their Variable Swept Wing was a maintenance nightmare. It had been a stopgap solution to making a maneuverable aircraft at all altitudes and resulted in severe reliability issues for early F-14s and F-111s. Later models were more reliable but still required tons of maintenance if something broke. They were retired simply because they were getting too old, parts weren't being made anymore, and they were becoming less competitive aircraft compared to newer designs. Notably suicide rates among ground maintenance crews dropped significantly after their retirement. Pilot skill is still very important (I mean just look at that F-16 that dodged 6 SAMs in Iraq), but it's no longer the deciding factor in air engagements. It's whoever can lock and fire first or deploy chaff/flares fast enough. And if you can make something that's hard to pick up on Radar, you can ensure you almost always fire first. Hence why Stealth is such an important factor these days. The F-35 notably is one of the most capable missile slingers in existence due to a highly advanced sensor suite, datalink, extremely good radar, and the ability to carry quite a few AIM-120s, in addition to a new missile being designed for it specifically. While the F-22 still holds the title of King of the Sky, the F-35 might as well be its Queen due to its versatility.

To answer that question they should have made the f22 visible to the f16 just to see which one is a true superior dog fighter. Given that the f16 was specifically designed to win dog fights do you think in that scenario the f22 would still win against the f16. In my opinion in that scenario the f16 would stand a better chance against the f22. And I'm talking about a true dog fight where they see each other on radar.

Once upon a time Iran started shooting down our drones. So they sent an F-22 to fly cover for the drones and make sure it didn't happen again. There were two Iranian F-4 Super Fantoms sent to shoot the drone down. The F-22 came up behind them, slipped under each plane to see what kind of weapons load each had. Then slipped over to the side and came up about 50 yards from the F-4'S so they could see it. And the F-22 pilot simply said "If I were you I'd go home now."

War is literally what has fueled the development of flight. - The need to carry heavy payloads of bombs is what developed heavy lift aircraft - The need for the fastest fighter in the war is what developed jet planes. - The need to avoid Radar is what developed stealth aircraft. - The need to eliminate a plane at a further range is what developed air to air missiles. - The need to preserve talented pilots is what developed ejector seats, parachutes, and drones. - The need to deploy troops quickly and medivac injuries is what developed helicopters. Like it or not, but war is what fuels innovation more than anything. It's just a shame people lose their lives for it.
