It's not even that he didn't train enough with it, he did not earn his bankai (he just used a shortcut), it takes up to a century to even unlock a bankai and it would take many more centuries to even master it. You can see how immature his bankai is as the only thing he has in his arsenal is spamming an empowered getsuga but if you look at the whole arsenal and abilities other captains have when they use their bankai, it opens up a whole kit of different moves and abilities.

Technically Byakuya didn’t lose in a traditional sense. He conceded the fight by choice. You could call it a draw I guess, but Byakuya was the one standing on his own.

Yea I mean he still had kido. He never even used Rikujo Koro to immobilize Ichigo, and we know he's good at that. He could literally just immobilize Ichigo at that point and then use either Sokatsui or another Byakurai to damage Ichigo in a vital spot. Ichigo doesn't fight against kido techniques, so it's not like he'd be prepared to defend against it.

This episode shows exactly why White Ichigo is probably my favorite character of Bleach- he doesn't give a crap and when Ichigo doesn't believe in himself White Ichigo takes over. In fact this isn't the first time we have seen White Ichigo- his introduction was when Ichigo was stabbed by Kenpachi and his sword was broken- than in a split second Zangetsu had put Ichigo to the test and that is when White Ichigo showed up and called Ichigo as partner. ;) Just a reminder from me. White was in fact made by Aizen, hence why he really did knew about Ichigo since before his birth.

In my opinion he lost against Byakuya and Kenpachi . Against Kenpachi he went down first even though, according to Yoruichi, he was saved by his Hollow mask and against Byakuya he ultimately fell while Byakuya left with his shunpo even after being severely injured by Ichigos Hollow. Ichigo has no control over the Hollow's actions atm, so one might not even consider it his power at this point, but even if you do.....he did not defeat any of these captains. If not for the Hollow he would have died twice already and still got, even with a lot of good will, nothing better than a draw.

He instead allowed himself to be destroyed by his own power without even noticing to the point where he would have died without the Hollow intervening. Ichigo has a lot of raw power but power alone doesn't mean you win. If he had been decisive enough to take Byakuya out right away or experienced enough to actually understand and control all the power in his body he would have won, but he didn't.

This fight against Byakuya and the fight against Kenpachi are 2 fights i dont give ichigo any credit in. Sure After Byakuya activated Senkei Senbonsakura Kageyoshi ichigo did everything on his own strength which is very impressive and a Testament to his Incredible Strength Growth BUT as soon a the hollow mask appeared and started fighting on his behalf the fight was practically handed to him since the Hollow had done Byakuya a Crucial blow twice if i am not wrong and after he got control of body back he only had to pore ever last bit of Reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure) into one swing and pray his attack would come out stronger. Ichigo in this fight has the same issue with Tensa Zangetsu that Renji has with his banaki Hihio Zabimaru in which there bankai’s are both fresh and have 0 practice with it but Ichigo won becuase he is the main Character. And Ichigo’s fight with Kenpachi was even more plot armor, bc his before he fought kenny he fought against Renji and it was pretty close, and the Gap in power between a Lieutenant with a Shikai and one of the strongest Captains with his Eye patch removed is like comparing a Adult Sage of Six Paths Naruto to the entire shinobi world LMFAO. And ichigo only matched kenny bc of the Zangetsu amp which would’ve been a nice feature in the series how a Zanpakuto can give their wielders a Amp when ever they are close to death since The physical manifestation of the Zanpakuto have their own lvl of strength but sadly. The series never goes back on it and was used as plot hole and plot armor since before his fight with kenny he was at Lieutenant lvl and after his fight with kenny he could kinda go blow for blow with Byakuya, but the buff he got from zangetsu during his fight with kenny wasnt his Strength to begin with so why isn’t he back at Lieutenant lvl like he should be?🤔Overall this fight was really good though and the Hollow Mask plays a Pretty big part in ichigo’s life after now

Here is why Ichigo was nerfed: Remember before he left the Soul Society Ukitake gave him the sub pass, and said it would keep his powers and reiatsu in check.
