As the previous owner of an 1989 GSXR750R, of which much of its design can be traced back to this Yoshimura Suzuka 8 Hour endurance racer, you nailed it! Besides the obvious attention to detail like drilling the brake rotors and chain to better show its links, I thought the dry clutch looked great as well as the red and blue anodized oil cooler line fittings. If I had to critique one thing it would be the titanium exhaust discoloration. I would have went heavier on the bluing and added some dark golden brown rings to enhance the joint welds. But who the hell am I? You are the master and I am the lowly subscriber. FRIGGIN AWESOME BUILD! 😎👍🏻

Thanks and I envy you. :-D These machines are perfect. I did not have a much documentation for this motorcycle, so I made a lot of mistakes.

@@idaemonplasmo Great idea on the rotors to show wear, You can use a similar effect on tires to show wear too, or if you go really overboard a race track tire effect lol. Also a little bit of black weather element in powder form around the calipers to simulate brake pad dust really gives it that "put away dirty look"

David, your work is nothing short of amazing. I have been building static and flying models for more than 50 years. Some people such as yourself have a gift of artistry that people such as myself strive to attain. I very much enjoy your videos, on many levels. When I need to relax and enjoy something beautiful being created, your channel is where I go first. Thank you for your continued assistance in keeping this wonderful hobby alive. ✌

I think you are a really good modeller. But you are a truly exceptional videographer - this stuff is of the very highest quality. Your big depth of field, lighting, sets and editing are superb. I know how unforgiving close-up photography is - but this just looks great. I don't know if you have chosen a career yet, but I think it should be with a camera.

@shannonchurchill45564 жыл бұрын
For never having done a bike, you really nailed it for the most part. I don’t catch if you were not into bikes or that you just had never built one. One thing I do differently is on the brake rotor, after shooting it with whatever “silver” you use, then shoot it with matte coat. Then mask off the inner part of the disc where the brake pads don’t touch, and reshoot it with a very light dusting of black. Sand lightly with whatever grit you used on the body work using the same Dremel method you used to groove the brakes, just to knock a little black off the top while leaving it down in the grooves. While it is still masked off, apply several coats of gloss so the area the brake pads touch is polished, this leaves the inner “raw” area of the brake rotor with a matte finish which simulates the machined surface. I’ll send you a pic of Valentino Rossi’s rookie bike that I used that technique on if I can find an email for you.

I remember racing against this bike in real life! We were a small Endurance team from the U.K. with a GSXR750. The production bikes were fragile compared to the works entered bikes. Ours always was breaking something in the engine! In the end we went for a Honda RC30, also a lovely kit made by Tamiya, which I have never built to supplement the real thing, which I have!
