I have recently started doing Faux finishes and I am in love with the outcome . It all started with a product by Meoded called Golmex. We coated all our millwork in a retail store we have been charged with completing for a client. The one thing that I cannot find on any media outlet, is a good informational video showing how the product can be manipulated in different ways and showing how the product finishes with each different technique. I have used so much product prior to starting the wall just to see how the different ways you apply it affect the final burnished look. I love your videos and just now liked and subscribed. God Bless brother wealth and health!

Hi Chris! My name is Shanyn and I have this tutorial several times. I am attempting to do a wall about this size for my Mom soon. I had shown her this wall and she loves this color! So my first question technically for my Mother is what is the name of this color? My questions are should I be able to get the same outcome using Valspar Signature Flat Tintable Venetian Plaster? It would be okay to use the same product in a metallic in the same color hue in random areas possibly for a 4th coat? I would like to add a little shimmer, but not covering thee entire wall. I know you mentioned to apply 3 coats: 1st coat full coverage, 2nd coat full coverage, 3rd coat full coverage? -OR- do you mean when you say ‘random’ to go over lighter spots only on the 2nd coat and you recommend doing a 3rd coat just to make sure you completely cover the entire space. So the 3rd coat is also just on ‘random’ areas that may look lighter to the human eye? Then when it is ‘fully’ covered would I then be able to apply a 4th coat using a metallic tinted plaster in random areas? I hope this makes sense. And one last question what would you say the working time of this product is? Since it has a short working time should I keep closing the gallon after taking out the plaster I feel comfortable working with. Because if I were to keep the gallon open wouldn’t it dry out quickly? Oh I lied I have another question, lol what is your recommended methods for mixing this product before applying to walls and I would probably want to use an artist palette of some sort right? Or do you think using a rolling pan would be a good idea. Or even those metal container things drywall people use when applying joint compound. I know its a lot of questions but I want to make sure I fully understand the way this median works. I do feel confident applying it once I understand the 2nd, and 3rd coat application purpose so I am actually really looking forward to it! Thank you so much Chris and I look forward to your reply! Kindest, Shanyn

@ensurepaintingplusllc3 жыл бұрын
For this specific wall/finish, I believe it’s around $650 but that all depends on the substrate, preparation, application method/desired outcome and client expectations. With that said price will differ from your state’s going rate/what you charge/experience and products used. Good-luck, much easier then people think, You can do it👍🏻 With Gratitude, Derek

So it’s dull & now has stains from daily cooking, how would I be able to give it the glass / shiny affect as he never managed to finish. Jake Some what common in New Mexico in Santa Fe style custom homes, I did quite a few as a drywall and plaster contractor in the south west. I believe it is also found on the east coast veneer plaster over blue board.But I would guess 99% of homes in the US are drywall

I have a few walls to try this on, can i buy a 5 gallon and then mix tints into the amounts I will use (I don’t know the mixing portion ratios). Doe this roll-on method work with acrylics and do you recommend acrylic plastering for a first timer? Also, I’ve primed the walls with killz primer, is that ok? And do I need to put another primer before the Venetian stucco? Thanks in advance for any reply!

what causes hairline cracks on venetian plaster? i didn't burnish it, but i did sand it after a few light coats. after a month, there were cracks in many areas. it's not that noticeable b/c of the color, but still really annoying. maybe i should have done heavier coats? it's also winter here so maybe the temp? can i still reapply some plaster in some areas? will it bond to the old plaster? your input is much appreciated.

cracks form for drying to quickly and applying to thick
@stillsmallvoice47854 жыл бұрын
@@RonaldLayman i understand this to be the case for spider cracks, but not for hairline cracks? it's an absolute nightmare. i didn't apply very thick at all though, but my bathroom is very cold. i'm thinking of getting rid of it. i heard paint thinner or paint stripper works to scrape it off...or the good old fashioned, tim-consuming sanding.
