Such foolish advice being given here. These cars are pure money pits. There is a reason why these cars are so cheap, maintenance is very expensive. Not to mention tires, insurance, and premium fuel. Especially Bentley and S class. You have to have a big wallet of cash ready to burn during service appts after you buy that.

Especially for these cars, since the N63 engine has a lot of potential issues, I recommend an extended warranty. But pick wisely, as the exclusions will get you. @@MG-bv3vu I just replaced the soft close door actuator. $500 fix. Luckily it too was covered under the extended warranty I purchased. I’ve learned you pay to play. These cars are a steal bc the maintenance is so severe. Hence the extended warranty being worth it’s weight in gold. I spent $5000 on the extended warranty and have spent $100 on the deductible covering $7500 worth of service. The BMW loaner isn’t bad to have while it’s down either. The car is magnificent, but it comes with a maintenance demand. A very high demand at that. So be it. Pay to play.

No kidding. The reason they depreciate so fast is because everyone knows they become money pits. My parents had an Audi A6. Lasted a little over ten years before it required a repair that cost more than the car was worth. Went to the junk yard. Got other horror stories from people I knew that owned VWs and BMWs. You get a Honda or Toyota or even some American cars and they are just getting broken in at that point. Korean cars are getting quite good as well. And if they do break down you won't have to mortgage the house to get them fixed.

I'd suggest the VW Golf/Jetta, specifically the MK3,4 or 5 models with either the 2.0 I4 or 2.5 I5. They're mechanically reliable but you'll have a few electrical issues here and there. If you can't do your own repairs or don't want extra performance, stay away from the 1.8t and 2.0t engines. They love to consume engine oil.

crazy depreciation is US thing … I just bought 2015 Mercedes S550 with 80K miles for $30K … it was $130.000 new … one owner , elderly retired couple .. bought it from Porsche dealer who serviced it , and provided all Carfax records … car looks and drives like new … that same car would cost me $80K in Europe … main thing to remember is maintenance, or even better , preventive maintenance, you need to stay on top with service and repairs if needed … Mercedes are selling in Europe for big bucks with 300K - 400K miles all day long … I took new Camry and RAV4 for test drive , it was like driving a wheelbarrow compared to S class … Toyota, Honda etc are good cars but boring as hell … nobody ever dreamed to own Toyota , many dream about owning S class or Bentley… bottom line , it’s apples and oranges, I wouldn’t trade my S class for 5 Toyotas

Depreciation lowers the purchase price, alright. The problem comes when you need to get replacement parts.

I drove the v6 Na panamera. It was low on power high on drivability. The v8, v8tt, or the v6tt would be much better.

Lexus LS500 left out because she holds her value, yet I got a well-optioned 2019 that listed for $93k for $66k in 2021 with 15k miles. 0-60 in 4.6, ten speed paddle shifters and 23 speaker Mark Levinson. 416 hp twin turbo V6. Find one next time.

My guess is that you guys have never owned a big Merc or Audi, otherwise you'd know the other half of the price will be paid monthly at the mechanics HAHA I would venture to say the same for the Bentley ... had a friend who had one and everything on that car was 10-12 times the price of a mere mortal's car HAHA
