Love how Frankl turned Maslow's pyramid upside down, do you see it that way too? Wonder if that is what made them actualise Maslow's theory to include self transcendence.

14:10 I used to have this mindset and it held me back for many years. I thought I was smart enough to figure out anything, my mantra was "If I knew what was wrong, I'd find a way to fix it."; that past self was afraid to be vulnerable and open to change. This video eloquently displays realistic values in perspective and proper expectations.

It’s super weird. Today I had the same thought. My words, as I’ve written in my journal, “Go through your problems, be aware of how you are solving it, transform yourself through it, so that you will not face the same problem again. Probably not in the same intensity. Transcend the problem.” Or in other words, outgrow them, level up so that it doesn’t affect me anymore. I won’t have to firefight. It’s something I don’t even have to think about. That’s evolution.

I think we love movies and novels because we love it that the characters in fictions live a full life. I can totally relate to that. As I ask myself, I think I want to live a full life too. I would say overall I am a peaceful person, but I do desire to live a full life that's fulfilling. With that comes risk. I must be willing to take the risks, and I shall have no fear. I'll enjoy the high highs, but I'll also go through the low lows. But that's a life worth living, as I don't want to just go through life with my eyes closed and my brain shut off.

Holy grail! Makes 95% of self improvmenet KZbin unnecessary. It is all about the true essence of BEING. Which incorporates all of the things you so clearly point out. BUT - uncomfortable truth for most people ;) It puts them - as well as me - in the position to truly and actively take responsibility. And ride the waves of life. Not a "nice, dreamy" fantasy but the biggest chance we all have to really grow and fully live! Thanks so much!

I truly believe that you were put here to help the masses find true happiness, because the way you put things and even down to your appearance you are able to take these "hippy concepts" and package them in a way that is palatable to the general public to be able to understand and want to go deeper. I think that self-help and empowerment books, speakers, etc. should all come with a disclaimer… ‘Living in chronic bliss and happiness is an unrealistic goal. Mother Theresa and Ghandi had some bad days too!’ Thank you!

This video is absolutely incredible. I love it that you outlined that it's impossible to stay in that euphoric state forever, that always staying high is impossible, but it's possible to stay in low vibe forever. I feel that was me, and I definitely had hedonic adaptation, because eventually things that make you happy don't make you happy anymore. Sex, food, exotic experiences etc. etc.

It only *feels* isolating because our emotions run so deep and we're so close to our own situation. On top of that, most people don't feel as deeply as we might (or at least, they don't allow themselves/don't know how to access those deeper emotions) and so the interactions we have with others may come off like they don't get what we're going through, leading to that sense of isolation and like we're going through things alone. But we're never truly alone on a planet of 8 billion+ people, countless of whom are also going through their own well of life experiences. Hang in there and persevere ✨

"The greatest and most important problems of life are all in a certain sense insoluble…. They can never be solved, but only outgrown. This ‘outgrowing’, as I formerly called it, on further experience was seen to consist in a new level of consciousness. Some higher or wider interest arose on the person’s horizon, and through this widening of view, the insoluble problem lost its urgency. It was not solved logically in its own terms but faded out when confronted with a new and stronger life-tendency.” Karl Jung

I think a good point of clarity that Clark might've also been trying to say is that these paths are all visions of your life in your mind, not necessarily the life you are actually living. By embracing the mindset of the last path, you attain a life that is objectively more similar to the third one. You embrace the mindset of the third path, you actually lead a life like the first one. These are WAYS OF APPROACHING YOUR LIFE (and its problems), not the ACTUAL LIFE YOU ARE ACTIVELY LIVING

I came across your videos recently. I will say this and maybe you cannot relate. Everyone was 1000% supportive of my dreams and aspirations (mostly because they didn't think I would amount to anything anyway) until I had children. At that moment, I became self centered for not wanting to just be a mother and not have a career. I had NO IDEA how strong people's opinions are about what good mothering looks like. Notice I didn't say good parenting. Good mothering.
