All the stupidity in the world is just noise. If you want the world to feel better, then find a quiet spot and read a book. You’ll realize how many quiet geniuses there are. The fact that Crocs were the choice of foot wear for the movie cracks me up and also makes me want to cry. In 2006 Crocs were pretty much unknown. @3p1Kf41L Жыл бұрын
Man you're really dumb, people wore crocs frequently back then too
@tikusblue10 ай бұрын
That's not exactly true. The story is that crocs were a new startup at the time they filmed the movie in 2004. The director was worried that they might become popular already by the time the movie came out in 2006, but they used them anyways thinking they wouldn't be popular anyways. Crocs launched their first large campaign in 2005. It went well and in 2006 the popularity of Crocs skyrocketed. So the director was right that by the time the movie was out, the shoes were already popular. But it didn't end up being an issue, because people just thought it was funny that he had the now popular shoe in a movie filmed 2 years prior. Of course like anything trends rise and fall, and by 2010 crocs were already losing popularity. Then recently they had a resurgence along with other early 2000s brands.

I'm 34 f, married for 10 years almost and at a certain point in my life I decided it would probably be better not reproduce myself. Husband never wanted kids in first place so he was totally cool with that and got himself steralised at age 30. When I see people with kids around me I never ever regret our choice, I only consider myself very lucky not having them and that feeling gets stronger everyday. I think if you reallllly want kids you just know this by heart, and it's sad to hear you made the 'wrong' decision. I was always like, yeah well we see, maybe when I'm older or something so I think I never wanted them for real in the first place. If you feel bad for not having kids, then visualize all the nights without sleep, all the worries you have for them being oke, all the money you spend on them and them never being satisfied or thankful to you for raising them. And when you are old and alone they will probably be too busy with their own lives to even take care for you.

When Mike Judge refused the production companies after being pressured by the companies made it to where this film would have a small scale release in theaters, while meeting the minimum requirements for the movies and Judge’s contract. I mean, I'm not saying the way eugenics was implemented in the past hasn't always been pretty totalitarian and horrific, but maybe it's worth at least discussing whether there might be some other more morally acceptable ways to shift things in that direction.

there's no need to resort to something as drastic as eugenics. just educate people, and make condoms readily available even to teenagers. they are gonna fuck anyway. it's better they use a condom than not use a condom.

When the costume designer for Idiocracy was figuring out what shoes idiots in the future would wear, she found a new company called Crocs. She showed Judge the Crocs and they both laughed and said they were perfect. "Who the fuck would wear these? These are so ugly. Only idiots in the future"...That's a true story.
